Lucian silently stared at the system screen with his eyes widened. Reading through the system's message, he was astonished.
'The bloodline prowess that dictates the future of an Arkwright, this system's telling me it restored the same bloodline powers that Lucian lost 5 years ago?!' His gaze tensed, and his lips slightly parted in surprise.
In the household of Arkwrights, a story had been passed down from generation to generation — depicting the life of the founder of their family and the world's one of the only 3 people to have ever achieved the realm of an archmage.
The life of Leon Arkwright — the man who fought against fate and rewrote his destiny.
'Leon was a man of ideals. He believed in the strength of survival and the survival of the strongest. Thus, he refused to have his life and magic written down on paper as a mere piece of history. Each time someone attempted to do so, it was said that Leon personally made sure to destroy their entire bloodline.'
'Though it sounded cruel, both for the people and his own family, Leon believed that it was the most optimal path for his descendants. After all, he had built all he had from scratch with no one to guide his path. It was primitive, yes, but Leon justified that having a mere goal to reach, should suffice as their guide.'
Lucian regained his composure as he closed his mouth and let a soft smile crawl onto his lips.
'But even so, he feared that maybe his descendants weren't as talented as him. He feared that he might put his descendants' lives in danger due to his ideals. Thus, Leon, in his later years, decided to create something that solely belonged to him. A magic that far surpassed the world's limits and was so powerful that even he, as the creator, could not master it completely.'
'A magic that was transferred to all that shared the same blood as him, though sealed away in the depths of their soul, waiting to be awakened by those who possessed the qualities to challenge their fate. That was Leon Arkwright's last grace and help to his descendants.'

"Oh yeah? No shit, Sherlock!" Lucian scoffed, giving bitter eyes to the system screen.
Dramatically shaking his head sideways, he suddenly flinched.
"Didn't I experience something similar not too long ago?" He muttered under his breath, recalling his memories from a while ago.
The moment when he, for an instant, saw the world in its truest form. The time when he witnessed energies colliding with each other, swirling in complete resonance, condensing into an array that shaped it into an element of the world.
Thinking about it, Lucian burst out into heartfelt laughter and grabbed his stomach.
Rubbing the back of his neck playfully, he said, "Man, how did I not pay any attention to that?"
"Yes... It must've been the same... No wonder I was able to interfere with that fireball..."
Lucian had remembered how he, not long ago, subconsciously ignored the outer appearance of a fireball and peeked through its raw form. Something he should've never been able to do.
To him, this situation seemed rather funny, as he had ignored something that should've caught normal people's eyes in an instant!
Seizing his laughs, Lucian heaved a heavy sigh. Then, he moved his gaze back towards the glowing door.
"If I can do it once, I can do it twice!" He said, clenching his jaw tightly.
Concentrating on his surroundings, he one by one began to shut his senses. It was difficult. Especially so, for a guy who had just been introduced to such extreme concepts. However, there was a single difference.
Even if not his, Ethan had already lived through the entire life of Lucian Arkwright within his dreams. This, it wasn't wrong for one to say, that he had become Lucian himself.
As such, he had also experienced the way mana floated through himself and all that existed within its reign.
Constructing spells from scratch, devising different techniques — he had felt it all. Thus, in an extremely short time, he had made himself familiar with the same in reality as well.
Although, his broken mana paths forbade him from using any mana, Lucian's conceptual knowledge of magic fell nothing short of the original.
"But of course, nothing in this world comes for free. Amongst those memories, I couldn't see many parts that could've been the most important part of Lucian's life. Thus, I couldn't see the parts of this Bloodline Prowess as well."
"But now," his gaze sharpened, and his senses heightened. "Now I know what it feels like to see beyond the appearance."
Slowly, he began to dilute his own presence in his eyes from the world, becoming one with the diminished flow of nature that surrounded all life.
Integrating himself with nature, his vision blurred. But he did not panic. Rather, he instigated it to happen.
Soon, everything within his gaze, though dark, began to form its own respective flow of mana.
"Since everything is formed of mana, the world without a doubt follows a natural flow. But since magic is the phenomenon where mana is interfered with, its flow slightly differs from the world's." He said, as a strange red hue began to infiltrate his irises.
As such, his vision changed. The seemingly infinite dark space that stretched around him shrank. Everything that he could see, blurred.
On the blurred images, fine particles of different energies, flowed on a singular path. Lucian's eyes quickly scanned through the entire vicinity, as he realized that the gate he was so willfully approaching had vanished completely, leaving mere residuals of oddly swirling mana.
"So that was a fake, huh?"
