Chapter 8 - Chapter-8 The Hidden Advantage

The next morning, sunlight slipped through Min-ho's curtains. Still half-asleep, he grabbed his phone and scrolled through Twitter.

One post stood out, written in bold with emojis:

"Interested? DM now!"

Min-ho's eyes froze on the glowing screen.

Min-ho stared at the post for a while, his mother's words from last night echoing in his head.

"Do whatever you want, but make sure it's the best for you."

He took a deep breath, tapped on the message button, and typed out his reply.

"I'll join."

They gathered near the gate, the healer stepping forward first.

"Since we're a temporary party, let's keep it simple. I'm Jisoo, healer and leader for today."

One by one, the others introduced themselves—short, sharp, professional. When it came to Min-ho, he gave only his name.

No one pushed further. They had a job to do.

With everything set, the glowing dungeon gate pulsed before them. Weapons drawn, the group exchanged a final nod.

Together, they stepped inside.

Inside, the air was damp and heavy. Darkness pressed in, but their eyes adjusted enough to see what lay ahead.

"Formation," the leader called out. The tank stepped forward, assassins spread to the sides, while Min-ho and the others held the center.

Not long after, a swarm of giant bats descended with sharp screeches.

"Engage!"

The group moved in sync. Blades cut, spells flared, and wings were torn apart mid-flight. Min-ho moved quickly, slashing through the monsters with ease. The rest of the team handled their share without much trouble.

By the time the last body hit the ground and faded into ash, around fifty giant bats had already been dealt with

Deeper inside, the path widened until they stood before a massive gate pulsing faintly with mana.

"Boss room," the leader said, steadying his grip on the staff.

The doors creaked open, and inside awaited a Poison Spider—its many eyes glinting, venom dripping from its fangs.

"Formation!"

They moved as one. The tank drew its attention, the assassins darted around its legs, the element users unleashed bursts of fire and ice, while Min-ho pressed forward with sharp, clean strikes. The healer kept everyone steady.

In minutes, the spider collapsed with a shrill hiss, dissolving into ash.

The gate reappeared behind them, leading back outside. One by one, they stepped through.

"Good work, everyone," the leader said, handing out rewards. Min-ho received his share—100,000 won—and without much chatter, he slipped away, heading straight home.

When Min-ho reached home, the place was quiet—his mother still at work. He dropped onto his bed, grabbed a quick snack, and then focused.

The white dungeon gate shimmered into existence once more.

Inside, he summoned the Poison Spider he had just fought in the raid… then the Goblin King. The battles were brutal at first, but repetition made him sharper, faster.

He kept at it for hours, resting only when his body gave out, then forcing himself back up to fight again.

When he finally stepped out, the clock in his room showed only a few minutes had passed.

"…So that's how it is," he muttered, his stomach growling.

After wolfing down another meal, he returned to the white dungeon. Again and again, he fought. Goblin King. Poison Spider. Goblin King. Poison Spider.

This cycle continued, day after day—seven days for him. But outside, only an hour had slipped by.
