After three hours,
As Guo Lin's convoy reached the city gate. They were stopped by guards for identification. Guo Lin gave them a token of the Guo clan, which was issued by the royal family to the Guo clan, showing the prestige they had in the country.
Guards checked the token and opened the gate for them. "Well, only identified people can enter the city; it's good I was born in a rich clan."
Guo Lin said to his guard walking side by side of the carriage, "Tell the driver to lead the carriage towards Tian Ji Pavilion faster." The guard nodded and told the driver to go fast.
After a few minutes,
Guo Lin stood before Tian Ji Pavilion, the most renowned merchant hall in the southern region, where both mortals and immortals come to find rare herbs and treasure. The building rose like a majestic mountain of jade and wood covered by golden bells—symbols of the Tian Ji pavilion. At the entrance stood two pillars glowing faintly, acting as decoration and protection.
Seeing the majestic building, Guo Lin was shocked, as it was his first time seeing a building this massive made of wood. Guo Lin said to his guards, "Stay here; I will go alone inside." After that, Guo Lin walked into the majestic building; he went directly towards the herbs section and started looking for materials he wanted.
While he was finding herbs, a woman came beside him and asked, "Welcome to Tian Ji Pavilion. Do you need any help, sir?"
Guo Lin heard the voice and looked towards the girl, who was very beautiful, just like idols from his past life. He looked at her for a second and said, "Miss, I want ten sets of ginseng, ashwagandha, yerba mate, ginkgo biloba, and maca for refining pills."
The woman replied, "Okay, sir," then she waved her hand, and all the material he asked for came flying out of drawers containing herbs. "Sir, these will cost five low-grade spirit stones."
Guo Lin thought for a second and asked, "Mam, is there some sort of discount for first-timers?" as currently I don't have many spirit stones on me." Women looked surprised, but seeing the sincere face of Guo Lin, she said, "Sir, Tian Ji Pavilion has fixed rates, but I can provide you low-quality material for three spirit stones." It may affect your body, as pills made from low-quality herbs have way more toxins than normal pills."
"No problem, miss, I will buy low-quality materials," Guo Lin said with a smile on his face because he just needed some materials for learning alchemy, and then he could earn more spiritual stones. Currently, he only had 4 spiritual stones given to him by his elder brother, who is an inner sect disciple in the Sword Spirit Sect, on his 18th birthday.
Women, though, What an idiot, wasting his spirit stones. He could have just found another spirit stone to get these resources and then said, "Sir, do you have a spirit pouch for storing these herbs?"
Guo Lin said, "No, I don't have any pouch, but I have one spirit stone left; maybeyou can give one spirit pouch for it." Then she again waved her hand, and a small pouch appeared in Guo Lin's hand.
"Sir, it contains one cubic meter of space, and I have transferred all your herbs into this pouch," said the woman.
"Thanks, miss, but can I get the honor of knowing your name? As we might have multiple exchanges in the future, to which women replied, "My name is Li Weng, and please come again," and she disappeared.
Then Guo Lin left the pavilion and went directly into his carriage. "Start moving back to the estate." As soon as he ordered, everyone prepared themselves, and the carriage started going towards the Guo estate.
On their way back, Guo Lin was sitting cross-legged in his carriage and accumulating qi, trying to open up his meridians.
Upon reaching back to the Guo estate, Guo Lin went directly to his father's office. "Father, I am ready to enter seclusion, and I will come out once I reach the qi refining realm."
After hearing this, Father got up and thought, "Both of my sons have good talent; God is really blessing our Guo family," and then he said, "Follow me, son."
Guo Lin followed his father outside towards a cave. Upon reaching this cave, he said, "This cave was discovered by your brother when he came here for a few days; you can cultivate in there."
Guo Lin was really moved by the words, as he was not his real father, but he still respected this person, and then he said, "Thank you, Father," with a smile on his face and then went inside the cave.
The cave opened into a spacious chamber where stones were glowing faintly. At its center rested a black cauldron that seemed used. On the other side was a wooden table on which was a pile of soldier pills that are used to replace food, books about alchemy and formations, and his phone.
Guo Lin was filled with excitement about his future and went directly towards the cauldron.
