Leo used his telekinesis to lift the remaining silver-gray metal up in front of him. Under the power of his mind, the metal was compressed into a disk about ten centimeters in diameter.
Then, with telekinetic precision, he guided the magic carving knife to etch runes into its surface.
Half an hour later, Leo held the finished metal disk and broke into a wide grin. Not only was telekinesis far more stable than his hands, but it allowed him to carve without the slightest tremor.
Excited, he carefully placed the disk into a container he had prepared earlier an orb of black metal the size of a soccer ball.
As the two halves of the black orb closed around the disk, golden lines began to spread across its surface.
A faint golden glow shone out, and waves of mysterious energy rippled through the laboratory.
Leo's eyes burned with anticipation. Picking up the sharp magic knife, he slashed across his palm, leaving a gash that stretched halfway across his hand. Blood flowed freely, dripping onto the floor.
Yet despite the bleeding, Leo remained calm. And then something miraculous happened.
The wound slowly stopped bleeding, and in just a few minutes, the cut sealed shut vanishing entirely, without even a scar left behind.
"Success!" Leo shouted, eyes locked on the orb at his feet.
"Heimerdinger might have called you a 'Techno-Magical Repair Bot'… but from now on, you'll be called 'Nurse'!" he declared with a mischievous grin, patting the top of the orb.
At his words, the golden lines on the orb shifted, converging at the front to form two large glowing eyes and a wide golden mouth that took up nearly half its face.
The black orb no, Nurse spoke in a metallic voice: "Yes, Master!"
Then five black ports opened across its surface, from which extended five thin mechanical limbs tipped with small black spheres.
Three arranged themselves as legs, forming a tripod to hold its body upright, while the remaining two became arms. Balancing on its stubby legs, Nurse rolled forward and came to stand behind Leo.
"Let's go!" Leo said excitedly. Taking Nurse with him, he vanished from the lab in a flash of teleportation, reappearing instantly back at his home.
Grinning with pride, he scooped up the orb and charged straight toward Emma's room.
Bang!
He threw the door open only for his mind to explode in shock. His nose immediately spurted two streams of blood.
Emma stood there completely unclothed, clearly fresh from the shower, drying her damp hair with a towel. Droplets of water sparkled on her smooth skin, rolling down her collarbone and tracing the elegant lines of her body.
Hearing the door open, Emma froze. Turning, she saw Leo staring at her blankly. Her face flushed bright red. With a scream, she instantly transformed into her dazzling diamond form and shouted furiously, "Get out!"
Leo snapped back to his senses, panic flooding his face. He quickly yanked the door shut.
"I-I…" he murmured outside the room, dazed.
Just then, Nurse opened its golden eyes and announced in its metallic voice:
"Master is injured. Beginning treatment." A strange aura of healing energy enveloped Leo's body.
"You're the one who's injured!" Leo said awkwardly, giving Nurse a smack.
Moments later, Emma stepped out, her cheeks still flushed. She glared at Leo angrily. "Why didn't you knock!?"
"I, uh… wanted to show you something," Leo said, lifting Nurse in his arms. At that moment, Nurse had shifted back into its spherical form. Emma frowned at the plain black ball.
"You came barging into my room just to show me this ugly ball?"
"Ahem… Emma, it's called Nurse. It's the result of my latest research!" Leo explained, giving the orb a pat.
At his signal, golden lines lit up across Nurse's body, and it unfolded into its full form, standing on its stubby legs.
"So cute!" Emma exclaimed, delighted. She reached out to hug it, but Nurse rolled away on its little feet, dodging her arms.
"What is this, a robot toy?" she asked curiously.
"It's a magical-tech creation with real abilities," Leo said seriously.
"Real abilities? You mean it can… turn into a ball?" she teased, pouting.
Leo sighed. Clearly, Emma was annoyed that Nurse had avoided her hug. Smiling awkwardly, he grabbed the orb and, with a fawning grin, handed it over to her.
Emma accepted it, hugging the round little body against her chest. The nurse squirmed its legs in protest, but she ignored it with a bright smile. "So, what kind of special ability?"
"Watch," Leo said, taking her hand. He shaped his telekinesis into a blade and gently nicked her fingertip.
Emma instinctively tried to pull back, but when she saw the serious look in his eyes, she chose to trust him. The telekinetic blade left only a small cut on her finger, just enough to bleed.
"What is this?" she asked, confused.
Before Leo could answer, Nurse suddenly stopped struggling.
"Injury detected. Beginning treatment!" it announced. A wave of life-filled energy pulsed outward.
Emma stared in amazement. The tiny wound on her finger, which had been bleeding seconds before, began to close. Within less than a minute, it had completely healed, leaving her skin flawless once more.
"This little thing can heal wounds!" Emma gasped, eyes wide with astonishment.
Leo grinned proudly. "Of course! Do you realize what this means?"
Emma's eyes lit up. Drawing from the business knowledge she had been studying, her expression shifted into one of sly calculation. "It means… we're going to make a fortune!"
