When the Doom attacked me in Celestia's memories, it left this purple mark on me. I asked the Truth Teller about this mark. What it revealed was that the being who marked me, the Doom, possessed the power of death and destruction. Upon coming into contact with a soul, it could see their destiny and the highest possibility of their death in the future.
Originally, I only had a high chance of dying on the 20th of February, but as Ume said, it was not necessary that everything in the prophecy would turn out to be true.
I might have even survived the Doomsday. That was, until I was marked by the Doom. By coming into contact with my soul, the Doom used its authority over death to turn my possibility of death into destiny. I looked into Celestia's memories to find a way to change the prophecy, but ended up turning its possibility into certainty.
