Chapter 8 - You are late

After searching near altar garden , we both started searching at the hallway, I saw young master noah despair, his eyes if filled with regret , what is it I want ask him, I want to ask him why now it's been five years and why is he started searching for her now, is it regret, was she that much , iam a mere servent I cannot tend these words to master

Noah is a man who is loved her enough to let her go

Lady elenor ,is she alive , where is she, was she pretending, did master know that, everything in this world is confusing

The priest had left them earlier to tend to something in the back. Now his slow footsteps echoed against the stones as he reentered, holding a small, weathered envelope in his frail hands. His expression was grave, his eyes dim with something like sorrow.

He stopped before them, the letter trembling slightly as he held it out. "You are late," the priest said quietly.

James straightened, confusion flashing in his eyes. "Late? What do you mean?"

The old man lowered his gaze. "She came here often, in the last days before she left. She asked me for prayers, though I think she never truly believed heaven would listen. Before she went, she left this letter with me. She said, if anyone ever comes searching for her, to give it to them."

Noah's heart lurched painfully. "She… she expected someone?"

The priest's lips pressed into a thin line. "She doubted anyone would. She said she had no right to be sought, no right to be remembered. But she also said

If there is even the smallest chance, Father, that someone still carries my memory, then let them have this.'" His voice faltered, but he finished with a weary shake of his head. "I told her she was wrong, but Elenor spoke like one who believed she did not deserve love."

He extended the letter. "And now

you are late. Far too late. But it is yours."

For a long moment, neither Noah nor James moved. The air seemed to thicken, the weight of lost years pressing down upon them. At last, Noah stepped forward and took the envelope, his fingers brushing against the brittle parchment as though it might dissolve under his touch.

The priest turned away, his shadow long in the fading light. "She left nothing else. Only this. And prayers, though she never said them aloud."

James looked at Noah, his eyes dark with fear and hope mingled. "Whatever it says… it might be the only truth left of her."

Noah stared at the letter in his hand. It was small, sealed with wax that had long since cracked, but it burned against his palm like fire. He wanted to open it then and there, to tear through the veil of mystery, but a part of him trembled. Because in that letter lay Elenor's voice, perhaps her last, and he wasn't sure if his heart could endure it.

The silence of the ruined church closed around them again, broken only by the cry of a crow outside. For the first time in years, Noah felt fear ,not of losing her, but of finding her in words that might shatter him beyond repair

I asked master noah, lord why don't you open it?

Noah replied with a reddbess eyes and an unsatisfied expression, james what if it's not meant to be mine to open, what if this is the last thing I have for her

James , atleast I have a hope she is somewhere or I can live with the hope she will come back or I don't know
