Chapter 58 - Jianbing Guozi Stall and Tony Stark

The winter break had passed, and another semester went by. Meng Ran was now facing the summer vacation of his senior year of high school.

Meng Ran didn't plan to be idle this summer. He intended to take Liu Xiu with him to sell Jianbing Guozi. Whether they made money or not wasn't important; he wasn't short on funds. Primarily, Meng Ran wanted Liu Xiu to experience life.

As soon as the summer vacation started, Meng Ran took Liu Xiu around. They prepared a mobile food cart for their stall and spent some time getting everything else sorted out.

Once everything was ready, Meng Ran and Liu Xiu drove to a spot not far from the Osborn Group's entrance and began their first day of business.

A mobile food cart was parked on the side of the road. Two handsome young men, one tall and one shorter, got out and began setting up. One was around six-foot-three, and the other was about five-foot-eight. These were Meng Ran and Liu Xiu, who had both grown quite a bit in height.

After setting up their table, they unfurled a sign with the words "Xiu's Jianbing" in Chinese characters, along with some English descriptions.

After preparing the outside table, Meng Ran began skillfully making Jianbing and adding the ingredients.

Meng Ran's technique was very smooth, and he quickly made two steaming hot crepes: one Multigrain Jianbing and one Jianbing Guozi. One had a hard crepe, while the other had a softer one.

Meng Ran liked Multigrain Jianbing, while Liu Xiu preferred Jianbing Guozi. The two brothers stood in the car, munching on their crepes.

The aroma of the Jianbing quickly spread, attracting the attention of several passersby. After reading the menu, they were intrigued, and many began to pay for their own crepes.

"Hello, I'd like a Deluxe Beef with Double Crispy Crumbles Multigrain Jianbing, the signature recommendation," one person said, pointing at the menu.

"Okay, that'll be ten yuan. I'll also give you a free Coke," Liu Xiu said, collecting the money and handing over a Coke.

"Hello, I want a basic Jianbing Guozi with an egg."

"Alright, that'll be four yuan."

"Hmm? I don't get a free Coke?"

"Sorry, the Coke is only free with a purchase of five yuan or more."

As lunchtime approached, more and more people came to buy Jianbing Guozi, and a long line quickly formed in front of the food cart.

Fortunately, Meng Ran's hands moved quickly. The entire process of making the Jianbing was smooth and fluid, incredibly slick, smoother than silk.

Meng Ran's skills attracted a group of people to watch and record videos, which inadvertently provided Meng Ran with a lot of free publicity. This made Meng Ran's business increasingly popular in the following days.

Meng Ran set up his stall in different places every day, preparing a certain amount of ingredients. In the beginning, Meng Ran and Liu Xiu could sell until the afternoon. But after a few days, they sold out at lunchtime, without waiting until the afternoon.

Today, Meng Ran and Liu Xiu came to set up their stall at the foot of Stark Tower. There was a lot of foot traffic here, and they estimated they would sell out around lunchtime.

Meng Ran, as usual, made one for himself and Liu Xiu to eat first, then waited for customers.

Just as Meng Ran put the last bite of Jianbing into his mouth, a somewhat flamboyant voice suddenly rang out beside him.

"Hey! I heard your Jianbing is very famous, is that right?"

Meng Ran looked up and saw a man wearing sunglasses and a small mustache standing outside the food cart, curiously sizing up Meng Ran's cart and the items inside.

Meng Ran immediately recognized the man in the suit, whose swagger was undeniable. It was Tony Stark.

Meng Ran still remembered the first time he realized he was in the Marvel world; it was because he saw the gossip about Tony Stark. He had been in a state of mental collapse for a long time after that.

Collecting his scattered thoughts, Meng Ran smiled at Tony Stark and said, "Yes, Mr. Stark. If you'd like one, I recommend the signature Deluxe Beef with Double Crispy Crumbles Multigrain Jianbing. It's the best seller."

"Also, you might need to get in line, Mr. Stark."

Tony wasn't surprised that Meng Ran recognized him. After all, with his fame, it would be strange if someone didn't know who he was.

However, Tony was a little surprised by Meng Ran's second sentence, telling him to get in line. Wasn't he the first one here? Why did he have to wait?

He turned his head to the side and saw that there were already four or five people waiting in line.

As if knowing what Tony Stark was thinking, Meng Ran said to him with a smile, "You were standing at the pick-up counter just now, the ordering counter is over there."

Hearing Meng Ran's words, Tony's face was a little flushed. He cleared his throat and went to queue up.

A few minutes later, Tony Stark finally reached the ordering window.

"Give me a signature Deluxe Beef with Double Crispy Crumbles Multigrain Jianbing, and a Coke," Tony said, looking at the menu.

Liu Xiu maintained a professional smile and said, "That'll be ten yuan in total, and I'll give you a free Coke."

Tony finished ordering and went to the side to wait for his food.

After a minute, Meng Ran had finished making the Jianbing. Meng Ran held the bag and handed the Jianbing to Tony.

Tony, seeing something being handed to him, instantly became a little uncomfortable. He turned his head and said, "You can put it here, I don't like people handing things to me."

Meng Ran saw Tony and immediately remembered his quirks. He placed the Jianbing on the food cart's counter and watched as Tony picked it up.

Tony held the steaming Jianbing, inhaling its enticing aroma. He turned and found an empty chair to sit down.

As soon as he sat, Tony eagerly took a bite, and that bite showed him the powerful appeal of Eastern cuisine.

The multigrain crepe had more fragrance than the soft crepes. The double crispy crumbles inside and the tender, perfectly grilled beef created a strong contrast in textures. The fresh scent of the vegetables was also mixed in, making the whole Jianbing not greasy, and every bite was delicious and refreshing.

Tony ate the Jianbing in large bites. This Jianbing's status in his heart was now second only to a cheeseburger.

He sat on an empty chair outside, drinking cola and eating the Jianbing. Before long, he finished it.

Tony burped and stood up, walking towards Meng Ran.

"Hey, kid, this Jianbing is indeed good. Here's your tip." Tony took out a crisp hundred-dollar bill and placed it in front of Meng Ran.

Meng Ran smiled, his hands never stopping. He glanced at Liu Xiu, who then put the hundred-yuan bill away.

Tony leaned against the food cart again and said to Meng Ran, "I have a great offer. How about you become my Jianbing chef? The annual salary is half a million, and it won't affect your other life. You just need to come and make me Jianbing when I need it. What do you think? Not a bad deal, right?"

Meng Ran shook his head with a smile after hearing Tony's words. "Thank you for the offer, Mr. Stark, but I still prefer selling Jianbing at my own food cart, and I'm not short on money. I'm just here to experience life."

Tony shook his head regretfully, then didn't say anything more and turned to leave.

Suddenly, Tony turned back and said to Meng Ran, "One million, I can't offer any more. Are you really not considering it? I'm even tempted myself."

Meng Ran looked at Tony, his hands still moving, and still smiled. "Thank you for the kind offer and appreciation, but unfortunately, I'm really not interested."

"However, I can give you a discount so you don't have to queue to buy Jianbing, to thank you for your sincere invitation."

Seeing that Meng Ran still wouldn't budge, Tony didn't say anything more and turned to walk toward Stark Tower.

Today's Jianbing Guozi were sold out. Meng Ran had already put up the "Sold Out" sign, but he had saved one for Gwen, Peter, Harry, and Mary Jane.

They said they would come over after finishing their work at noon today, and Harry had something to say.

Meng Ran put away most of the tables, leaving only a large one, waiting for Gwen and the others to arrive.

Before long, Gwen and the others arrived. Meng Ran immediately fired up the griddle and, with a smooth and flowing motion, made several Jianbing that catered to their different tastes.

Meng Ran and the others sat at the table, chatting while they ate.

After they finished eating the Jianbing and drinking their Coke, Harry wiped his mouth and began to prepare to tell them the important thing he had to say. This matter was about Gwen and Peter.

Harry looked at everyone and said in a low voice, "Since my father passed away, I've been working hard to control the Osborn Group."

"Recently, I found some secret information about the Mutated Spider in the database."

"I think that's where the information about the spiders that mutated Peter and Gwen should be."
