Chapter 29 - Chapter 29

"Damn it!"

Arlong's scream echoed, his voice filled with fury. "What in the world is this?!"

"Quick, jump in the water! If you dive deep enough, you can escape it!"

But it was already too late.

A shadow covered all of Arlong Park. Lightning exploded from the sky, devouring every building with a terrifying rumble. Shattered homes turned to dust, burying those who couldn't run in time. The Fish-Man Pirates who recklessly tried to jump into the water were instantly burned to charcoal. Those who managed to jump in a hurry floated back to the surface, becoming the next victims.

In the blink of an eye, the bustling park became a living hell. Hundreds of Fish-Men vanished. All that remained were Arlong and his three officers: Hatchan, Chuu, and Kuroobi. They were silent, paralyzed by terror.

"T-this... Boss, what happened?" Hatchan stammered, the swords in his hands trembling.

Arlong finally came out of his shock. His eyes turned red at the sight before him. He was certain this wasn't a natural disaster, but the work of a human. He looked towards Zoro and his crew at the entrance, who were completely unharmed. Fury exploded within him.

"Damn it! Who did this?!"

"Jump in the water! Our enemy is hidden. We have to save ourselves first!"

The four of them plunged into the pool that was directly connected to the sea, seeking protection. However, two figures emerged from the water in front of them.

"So this is it, little Arlong?" Usopp, wearing diving gear, grinned. Beside him, Mohji and his crew were also smiling.

"Brothers, let's do it. Tell me, what are fish most afraid of?"

"Insecticide and paint!" they shouted cheerfully.

Plak! Plak! Plak!

Several cans and bombs of powder were thrown, polluting the pool. Arlong's three officers choked on the fumes and were forced to flee to land. Arlong, however, tried to endure. He held his breath and tried to escape.

Boom!

A poisonous gas bomb hit him in the face. As he was about to retaliate, he was dragged back to the shore by Mohji and Cabaji.

This is too much! They're bullying me! Arlong thought.

In the village, the commotion at Arlong Park caught the attention of the residents. They rushed to follow Genzo, daring to grab weapons. They were certain the Marines had come for revenge.

However, upon arrival, they were shocked to see Zoro and his crew fighting a desperate battle against the Fish-Men. They didn't look like Marines, but pirates more terrifying than Arlong himself.

Suddenly, the clouds in the sky slowly morphed into a human shape. The villagers were transfixed, watching electric light crackle around the figure.

"Is that the Sky God?"

"Wait... look! It's Nami!"

"How is she doing that? She's amazing!"

"So, that thundercloud earlier... Nami did it?"

"Nami is incredible! Finish them all!"

The battle reached its climax. In the pool were Usopp and his crew, on land were Zoro, Buggy, and Kaya who was cheering and healing them. In the air, Nami stood coolly, like a fairy from the sky.

Arlong, who was being attacked by Zoro's Three-Sword Style, was struck with rage. He parried Zoro's sword and looked up at Nami in the sky.

"You bastard! You deserve to die!"

Arlong glanced at the sky. The thundercloud was gone, leaving a short-haired girl. When he saw her clearly, his eyes widened.

"You..."

"Have you ever felt the pain of a loved one who died tragically, Arlong?!" Nami's voice was cold. She stared at the monster she used to fear. "Each of them has killed at least ten people. Their deaths are well-deserved!"

"Nami?!" Arlong roared. "You traitor!"

He never imagined that the person who destroyed his "paradise" was Nami, whom he had always looked down on. Arlong's officers were also infuriated.

"Nami, you damn woman!"

"You killed hundreds of our brothers, you deserve to die!"

"Boss Arlong, the three of us will tear her to shreds!"

At the entrance, the villagers were stunned to see the familiar Nami. They never expected her to become that strong. Genzo could barely recognize her.

Luffy, who saw Nami's power, even wondered if someone was impersonating him.

"How did Nami get so fierce?" asked Nojiko, who had just arrived.

She turned to Luffy. "Nami said you gave her a Devil Fruit? Why are you so nice to her?"

Luffy pouted. "Don't test me. Treating Nami well is one thing. But kidnapping you onto the ship is another. Even if she doesn't agree, I'll still carry you!"

Nojiko fell silent. What is wrong with this man? Isn't he Nami's boyfriend? Why is he kidnapping me, her sister?

Luffy ignored Nojiko's confusion, lifted her onto his shoulder, and walked past the stunned villagers.

"What are you doing? Put me down!" Nojiko struggled, her face turning red. "Aren't you afraid Nami will get jealous?"

Plak!

Luffy slapped her butt lightly. "Don't move, be a good girl!"

"Ouch! You... you can't treat me like this! I'm Nami's older sister!"

Plak! Plak!

Luffy retaliated with two more slaps. "What's the problem? You're not even blood-related."

Nojiko felt her world crumbling. This man was too mean! Not only did he hit her, but he also twisted the knife with his words! Belle-mère was right, all pirates in the world were bad news!

In the park, Arlong and his officers stared at Nami. Arlong sneered, "No wonder you dared to go against me, you found a backer!"

He realized the Thundercloud Fruit was a version of the Lightning Fruit and that its power was extraordinary.
