The whole yard was silent.
Su Quan sat on small chair and saw his two young daughters carefully packing bundle of his clothes, some food for under way and three water containers made out of bamboo.
He looked at his house and then at his brother. "I'm giving this house to you. I won't be coming back. These sons of mine are not filial so you definitely must gather yearly money for me."
His brother patted his shoulder. "Or I give you money and they have to repay it next ten years. In ten years I will send you more and until end of your life you can be certain to have money."
Su Quan didn't want his children to owe money to anyone but knew he will need money for many things.
Including travel expanse and future food for himself and the two girls.
Before leaving he planned to say goodbye to everyone and first visit his other five daughters to make sure they are safe. This will be last time seeing them.
He plans taking his wife's remains as well to buty her in ancestral grounds and sewing wise eyes of his sixth daughter he knew she will take care of his own burial.
He knew he was dying. Maybe year or two.
Ist enough for the young Su Fei to become head of her own little family.
Su clan on noth had special rules and his brother never went back as they didn't like the rules.
One of the rules was that girls can't ever be sold, mistreated or married before they are eighteen. The other rule was that clan has to hold their backs except they do something devious. In that case they are just erased form clan books and are officially nameless.
These two will be protected more on north then here.
Su Fei thought of north he was talking about and somehow strange map appeared on her mind. Not the map she knew about.
Qian Empire.
Not in her memories.
Is it Qianlong Time?
No. The current Emperor was Qian Feng.
Qian Empire was now almost thousand years old. It's not her world.
Yes, the book. She didn't care is it a book or not. To her it's real world where she was living, breathing , eating and popping.
When her brothers left she made medicine for her father, added some tasteless vitamins and minerals and hoped he will survive for years to come.
The memories showed that even though their mother gave birth to lots of babies, she loved them all.
Even if her father was somewhat biased to her brothers as tehyw ere boys he realized in last few years how selfish they were to the bone and slowly was making plans.
Yes, his decision didn't come from one moment to another.
It was well planned for years.
He asked first for permissions down main caln to bring his parents and wives remains an explained his situation as well.
He even asked about staying there and got finally positive answer just a month ago.
They planned giving him small house with garden so he can live comfortably his last days and supported him that he wants to protect his two daughters.
So all this mess was actually well planned, his son's just had no idea. But Su Fei was aware of it as she saw him happily packing his money, few valuables and three special pots with remains.
He already prepared everything.
She thought of the special pots she found in the apothecary and had suddenly an idea.
That night she saw him sitting in Gardena nd left her little sister sleeping.
"Father, you are awake."
"I spent all my life in this yard. My parents gave birth to me here. But my father wish was always to be buried in ancestral tomb. And you, why aren't you sleeping?"
She glanced up and pointed at beautiful round moon. It was so close that's he almost couro touch it. "Father, do you believe old stories about fairies."
He stilled. "Your mother emet one in her youth that's aved her life. Yes, I believe."
Su Fei thought of it. Maybe she had fairy as well that have her second life. "I met one. But not personally as mother. I met one in dream. She told me she wanted to give you, mother and my grandparents something special."
He listened silently. "The four of us?"
Su Fei smiled and sent silent prayer to the deity.
*Please forgive me. But I really think these things can be used for this case. And please give the soul of this woman new life. One that she can live happily with.*
Seing her silently praying he became still and suddenly four white pots could be seen.
The glaze was shining brightly under the moonlight.
His eyes popped almost out of his sockets and he gulped loudly. "This is finest porcelain worth thousands of taels."
Su Fei shook her head. "No father. Deity said it's burial pots. This is her last greeting for mother and she is grateful to you for being a good man. She wants remains to be placed inside. After that she will take them in safety until time of ritual comes. Then she will summon them back in front of clan. That way no one will steal them and they will have their own purpose."
His heart shook as he slowly uncovers simple caly pots and slowly transported all remains into new pots.
As soon he placed remains into new pots, the covers closed on its own and under his amazed eyes they disappeared.
"Father, deity said you should still take pots with you just for show and put simple ashes inside. Just in case someone has stupid idea to check pots."
He nodded quickly and rushed to nearby fireplace. Cold ashes were piled up as he didn't clean these often and couro fill the three earthen pots with it.
With sweat he closed last one, placed carefully again into basket and looked at his daughter. "Go sleep."
As soon Su Fei was in bed and hugged her sister, he went on knees and kowtowed three times. "Thank you. I was worried the most about the remains. Thank you deity."
Su Fei glanced at him and saw him going to his room and hugged the lyttel spider girl next to her.
This Su Yue definitely will have some good husband than needs nice hugs. She likes hugging like a spider monkey.
With chuckle she hugged her thin body and fell asleep as well.
Tomorrow the travel starts. She must rest well...
