Chapter 56 - Chapter 56 – A City Drowned in Shadows

The streets of the Sahal Kingdom had turned into a battlefield. The sky was blackened, and the clash of steel mixed with screams echoed between the stone walls.

At the front, Mamir, leading his seven-thousand-strong army, raised his sword high and roared:

— "Forward! We will reclaim this city!"

And the battle began.

⚔️ In the Heart of Combat

Elven archers rained down glowing arrows from balconies, while the dwarves locked their shields together, thrusting their spears forward like an iron wall. Yet every shadow knight that fell was replaced by more, pouring in from the alleys.

Necor, wielding his twin black swords, was a whirlwind of death. Each strike tore through the shadow-born, his movements like darkness devouring itself.

Ener swung his colossal black greatsword with devastating force. Every arc of the blade split enemy ranks in two; the ground itself cracked beneath his strikes, scattering shadowy corpses.

But the true heart of the battle was Mamir himself. His sword gleamed like a river of light, each swing cutting through dozens of shadow knights. Around him, soldiers fought harder, as if his fury had become their own strength.

✨ Runya in the Sky

High above, Runya hovered, arms extended toward the battlefield. From her palms streamed the golden glow of ancient fae magic, healing the wounds of elves and dwarves below.

But it came at a terrible cost. Her face was pale, her eyes bloodshot from strain. Alone, she struggled to mend thousands of warriors at once. Some blows were too sudden, too lethal to heal in time—but still, her magic reduced their losses by nearly ninety-five percent. Thanks to her, the army stood where it should have fallen.

At the rear, Eovar, sword in hand, stood as a shield for Kirarya and Bete, guarding them with unwavering resolve.

🌑 The Commander of Darkness

From deep within the city, a towering figure emerged. His body was that of an orc, yet his face was human—eyes glowing with venomous green fire. With each step, the shadow knights grew fiercer, their strikes heavier.

This was Trawen, one of Ostomas's 110 commanders of darkness.

Trawen bellowed, his voice shaking the stone streets:

— "Little prince… taste the true power of shadow!"

He tore through elven and dwarven lines, smashing shields, shattering blades. Where he walked, annihilation followed.

⚔️ Mamir vs. Trawen

By now, Mamir had slain at least three thousand shadow knights. His armor was battered, his body bloodied, but his eyes still burned like fire. He lifted his blade to his chest and stepped forward.

And at last, Mamir and Trawen locked eyes.

For a heartbeat, the battlefield fell silent. Two forces of destiny stared at one another. Then, with twin roars, they charged.
