Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 – The Truth Behind the Shadow

The dark tunnel widened until the companions—Mamir, Ener, Runya, and Necor—stepped into a colossal cavern. From the ceiling, blackened crystals glowed with an ominous light, painting the underground world in shadows.

Runya shivered and whispered:

— "This… this is the heart of Galamon…"

Before she could finish, the ground shook. A towering shadow rose, solidifying into a seven-meter obsidian golem, its crimson eyes blazing. Then, with a surge of dark magic, a Black Orc emerged—five meters tall, muscles bulging like stone, its roar echoing with savage fury.

From the gloom stepped a Dark Knight, clad in cursed armor, his longsword gleaming with malice. Each step was a toll of death itself.

And behind them, upon a stone dais like a throne, stood another figure. Her face, once radiant, now carried a cruel smile. She was known in songs, the symbol of innocence, the first fairy queen of legend: Efsanya.

Runya's eyes widened with grief.

— "You… you were the symbol of light. The heart of the fairies. How could you become this? You are the disgrace of our history!"

Efsanya's eyes flickered with shadows.

— "The history you cling to… is nothing but lies. My fall, my so-called betrayal… No. The truth has been erased. Someone rewrote it. And you all believed."

Mamir growled, drawing his blade.

— "Who are they? Who changed it?"

But Efsanya only smiled and raised her hand. The obsidian golem, the Black Orc, and the Dark Knight surged forward.

The Battle Begins

The Obsidian Golem blocked Ener's path. Its massive arms smashed the cavern walls into rubble. Ener gritted his teeth, hefting his massive sword.

— "Come on then, stone beast!" he roared, charging head-on.

The Black Orc thundered toward Mamir. Each strike of its club-like fists shook the ground, forcing Mamir back. His arms ached under the weight of deflecting each blow, but he refused to falter.

— "I may not be a king… but I will never bow!"

The Dark Knight faced Necor. The clash of steel rang out as Necor's twin blades moved like a deadly dance. His strikes were precise, sharp, and merciless—every motion proof of his mastery. The Dark Knight staggered under the relentless rhythm.

Runya unleashed spells from behind, her magic striking like radiant arrows. But her eyes remained locked on Efsanya.

Epic Struggles

Ener shouted against the roaring golem:

— "I am a warrior of Harland! Your stone will shatter before my will!"

With a mighty swing, he carved a deep gash into the golem's chest. The monster staggered, but still stood.

Mamir fought on against the Black Orc, his ribs aching from each brutal strike. Then, he remembered Necor's old words: "A sword is not just steel—it is your will. If your will falters, so does your blade."

Breathing deep, Mamir struck fast, cutting a line across the orc's chest. The beast howled in fury.

Necor's duel was like a deadly symphony. With one blade, he deflected the knight's sword; with the other, he slashed into its armor. Sparks flew with every blow.

— "These blades are not for vengeance," Necor declared, "but for freedom!"

The Revelation

Runya cried out, her voice breaking:

— "Please, remember who you were! You were our mother, our heart—you were light itself!"

But Efsanya's smile only grew colder.

— "That heart turned black long ago, child. And you still do not see the true enemy. You still do not know…"

Her words filled the cavern with dread and mystery.

The battle raged on, steel against shadow, magic against darkness—light and night clashing in a storm that shook the very heart of Galamon.
