Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Legacy of the Turoks

Seron's Tale

Mamir sat inside the white tent, facing Seron Valar. The leader's voice was calm yet heavy, every word falling like stone on the ground:

"Listen, Mamir Harland. You are not just a prince. The blood of the Turoks flows within you. Without knowing their story, you cannot set foot in Elandur."

Seron's eyes drifted to the distance as if recalling a time long past:

"Centuries ago, the Turoks were a great kingdom—proud and strong. Their greatest strength was their friendship with the Elves. Together, they fought the darkness. Together, they won victories. The gates of Elandur were always open to them.

But then Ostomas rose. His shadow divided both Turoks and Elves. Darkness devoured them both. The Elf kingdom retreated across the sea to Elandur, and the Turok kingdom was shattered. What remains of them now lives in the small coastal city of Wernes."

Seron fixed his gaze upon Mamir:

"And you, Mamir… are the son of Kirarya Turok. Her blood runs through your veins. That is why the Elves may trust you. You are not only a prince of Harland… you are the heir of the Turoks."

Mamir's Confession

Mamir's chest tightened with both awe and sorrow. His voice trembled as he finally spoke:

"All my life… I believed my mother was just a commoner. Because of that, I was despised, humiliated, called half-blood in the palace. Yet now I learn… she carried a legacy greater than I ever imagined."

His eyes glistened.

"But why did she never tell me? Why did she leave me? When I was only ten… she disappeared. Without a trace. I've searched for that answer all my life."

---

The Striking Truth

Seron drew a deep breath, his voice lowering into a weight of revelation:

"Mamir… your mother did not vanish. She chose her destiny. Kirarya did not leave you out of cruelty—she went to Elandur. She went to protect the light of the Elves, to prevent the world from falling entirely into shadow."

Mamir froze, his heartbeat pounding in his ears.

"Elandur?… Then my mother… is she still alive?"

Seron slowly nodded.

"Yes. She confided her mission only to the commander of the previous generation of White Cloaks. She left Harland to fulfill a sacred duty. She stands among those who guard the light. Mamir… if you complete this journey, you will not only save the world—you will find your mother again."

---

The New Path

Mamir's hands trembled, hope and fear surging within him.

"So this journey… is not just for the kingdom. It is to restore the legacy of the Turoks… and to find my mother."

Seron's expression softened, yet his tone remained firm:

"Yes, Mamir Harland. You carry two burdens: the fate of this world and the bond of your blood. Remember this—where light dwells, darkness will always follow."

Mamir closed his eyes, a single tear sliding down his cheek. But his voice was steady, resolute.

"Then I will walk this path—for my people, and for my mother. No matter the cost."
