Chapter 19 - Chapter 18: Shadows in the Throne Room

Narrator's POVIn the obsidian throne room of Hell, the flames of the great scrying mirror flickered and swirled. Within its depths, the image of Greendale shimmered — the street cracked open, Sabrina Spellman trembling, Keiran standing amidst the ashes of the hound.

Lucifer leaned forward, lips curling into a slow, dangerous smile.

Lucifer's POV"My son."The words dripped with satisfaction."Do you see, Lilith? The way he fights? The way the power leaks out of him, even when he tries to suppress it?"

Lucifer's claws tapped against the armrest of his throne. "He is mine. My blood sings in him."

Lilith's POVLilith stood at the edge of the mirror, arms crossed tightly across her chest. She had seen the same thing he had — that flare of light in Keiran's eyes, the hint of his angelic power slipping through.

But what Lucifer called strength, she saw as danger. Exposure. Vulnerability.

"He nearly revealed himself," she said softly. "If Sabrina had looked a second longer, she would have known the truth. He is not ready for your games, Lucifer. You'll force him into revealing what he wishes to keep hidden."

Lucifer laughed, a cruel, melodic sound.

Lucifer's POV"Good. Let her see. Let her wonder. Secrets rot the soul. If she is truly meant to walk beside him, she must learn what it is to carry the weight of revelation."

He turned, wings unfurling in a stretch of shadow and flame. "But he passed. He killed the hound. He stood his ground. He is mine, through and through."

Lilith's POVHer nails dug into her palms, but she kept her expression carefully composed. "No, Lucifer. He is not yours. He does not fight for you."

Lucifer's gaze snapped to her, golden eyes narrowing.

"And yet… he fights. That is all that matters. The boy bleeds like me, strikes like me, conquers like me. You cannot erase what he is, Lilith. Not even his free will can wash the Morningstar out of his blood."

His smile widened, cruel and certain."I will make sure of it."

Narrator's POVLilith said nothing more. She had learned long ago that arguing only sharpened his cruelty.

But inside, her heart twisted with a mother's dread. For she knew the truth that Lucifer refused to see: Keiran was not like him. He was not like her, either.

He was something else entirely. And the world — Hell, Heaven, Greendale — was not ready for him.

The mirror's flames died down, leaving only their reflections.Lucifer's pride burned.Lilith's fear festered.

And far above, Keiran walked Sabrina home, his secret trembling on the edge of discovery.
