Chapter 73 - Chapter 73: Under the Divine Strike

Chapter 73: Under the Divine Strike

Meanwhile, Kurtz and the others in the treasury remained oblivious to the approaching danger.

"Why is this stone platform suddenly glowing?" Eric instinctively took two steps back.

The brilliant light pulsed steadily, casting shifting shadows across the treasure vault's walls. Ancient runes blazed to life across the platform's surface, each symbol burning bright.

Serie's face drained of colour, her golden eyes widening. As an Elf with the keenest perception of magic, she immediately sensed that something was wrong.

"No! This isn't the stone platform's own reaction; someone is activating its magic from outside!" Her voice cracked with urgency.

Kurtz abruptly looked up, his breath catching. Although he couldn't see the situation outside, visions had already appeared in his eyes, granted by the Orger's clarity.

An incomparably huge pillar of light descended from the sky, like the Staff of God, its dazzling light carrying destruction that engulfed the entire Dwarf Ruins.

And their group was right in the middle of this attack.

Moreover, the holy sword Orger also vibrated violently, as if warning them. The blade sang with desperate urgency, its divine metal growing hot against his palm.

His heart hammered. We're going to die.

"Serie!!!"

Because the situation was too urgent, Kurtz could only roar, fully activating the power within him to deploy a magical barrier. Magic flooded through his body, every cell screaming as he pushed beyond his limits.

But it was already too late.

The air above them split.

"Boom, !!!"

The Skywing Clan's God Strike descended from the sky.

The dazzling white light pierced through hundreds of meters of rock, containing power that could destroy everything. The air ignited, turning the world into a furnace of divine wrath. The Dwarf Ruins crumbled under this force, ancient stones turning to dust!

The entire treasury shook violently!

Eric stumbled, falling directly to the ground as books and artefacts tumbled around them.

Hearing Kurtz's roar, Serie also looked up, her pupils contracting.

She also sensed at this moment that someone was unleashing super-large magic outside, and its magical intensity was simply unbelievable.

But fortunately, her battle instincts prompted her to deploy a magical barrier immediately. Years of training overrode panic.

A translucent magical barrier appeared above everyone's heads, shimmering faintly.

Finally, after destroying everything in the Dwarf Ruins, the God Strike collided with the barrier, erupting in a deafening explosion that seemed to tear reality apart.

The impact hit like a physical blow.

Kurtz grunted, kneeling on one knee as blood filled his mouth. Serie was the same, fresh red blood flowing from the corner of her mouth as her barrier flickered under the assault.

Their magic reserves drained rapidly. Sweat poured down Kurtz's face as he felt his life force being consumed along with his mana.

Seeing this, Kurtz simultaneously drew el's light and Orger, using the power of the holy swords to replenish their rapidly depleting magic quickly. The divine weapons pulsed in harmony, their combined light the only thing standing between his friends and annihilation.

"It's God Strike!" Barely supporting the magical barrier, Serie spoke with difficulty: "It's the Skywing Clan's highest-level magical attack!"

Her hands shook violently as she poured everything she had into maintaining their protection.

"Skywing Clan?" Kurtz wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and gritted his teeth: "Why would the Skywing Clan appear here?"

Having no time to answer Kurtz's question, Serie could only use all her magic to reinforce the barrier. Veins of light traced across her skin as she pushed her body beyond limits.

"God Strike won't last too long." Her voice was barely a whisper, but it carried desperate hope.

Fortunately, the structure near the Dwarf treasury blocked a large part of the impact, and since the centre of the God Strike's attack was not them, they only needed to guard against the aftershocks.

But even so, the terrifying, destructive light quickly annihilated everything around them.

Whether it was hard ore or weapons and equipment meticulously crafted by the Dwarves, all turned to dust under this attack. Centuries of craftsmanship vanished in heartbeats.

At this moment, high in the sky.

Looking at the Dwarf Ruins enveloped by the pillar of light, the members of the Thirteen Council leading the group all let out a long sigh of relief.

Using God Strike consumed a great deal of their energy, and their internal magic was almost depleted. Several warriors swayed in flight, their wings trembling with exhaustion.

For a long time to come, they would be unable to participate in any combat.

But fortunately, they had fulfilled the Goddess's command.

Everything here would completely disappear, including the demons and monsters within.

"We've lost contact with the holy relic. I'm afraid the holy relic was also destroyed by the God Strike," one of the Thirteen Council members said, his voice carrying regret.

They had reached above the Dwarf Ruins in such a short time by using the vast magical power within the Holy Relic Stone Slab, thus deploying a massive teleportation array similar to the one the demon race used back then.

And the method to activate the magic in the Holy Relic Stone Slab was bestowed by the Goddess.

"It seems we can't return to the Divine Kingdom using the magic array."

The faces of the other Council members showed some worry, exhaustion weighing heavily on their features.

Now was the weakest moment for all members of their Skywing Clan. Having just released God Strike, everyone's magic was almost depleted, and their combat power was less than one-tenth of what it usually was.

Once they encountered demons or monsters, they would have no way to fight back.

But fortunately, all the monsters on the continent were currently fighting in the Elf Forest, so they didn't need to worry about being attacked.

"Let's go! Return to our Divine Kingdom!"

All the Skywing Clan members flapped their wings and began to leave the battlefield. Below them, the pillar of light was slowly receding, revealing an incomparably huge crater that glowed with residual heat.

On the other side.

When the dazzling light finally dispersed, everyone was horrified to discover that the entire treasury, or rather, the entire dome of the Dwarf Ruins, had completely vanished.

Through the settling dust and smoke, long-absent sunlight fell upon their shoulders, but the sunlight, which should have been warm, sent shivers down everyone's spines. Because in the sky, a formation of Skywing Clan Warriors was retreating, leaving only a cold silhouette behind.

"Skywing Clan..." Norn's voice trembled slightly, his usual composure shattered, "Why would they appear here?"

His hands shook as he helped Eric to his feet, both men moving carefully in the aftermath of terror.

"Could it be that they wanted to steal the monsters' lair and didn't know we were here?" Eric guessed uncertainly, dust coating his golden hair grey.

Dwarf Somo's face was extremely grim, his knuckles white around his battle-axe handle.

Because looking through the cracked magical barrier, the entire Dwarf Ancestral Land had vanished entirely from this world, leaving only an incomparably huge crater as proof of its former existence.

His ancestral home, gone.

Kurtz wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and gripped the holy sword El's Light. The magic within it had been completely exhausted, and the holy sword, which had initially emitted a faint blue light, now appeared dim and lusterless.

"Perhaps they came for us, or rather, for the Orger, Sword of Divine Authority." His voice was hoarse from magical strain.

The number of monsters in the Dwarf Ancestral Land was not enough to warrant such great effort from these bird-people.

Deploying a super-large teleportation array and releasing God Strike, just to kill some monsters guarding their home?

Neither Kurtz nor Serie would ever believe that!

"That's the only possibility," Serie withdrew the magical barrier, her face incredibly pale and drawn. Dark circles shadowed her eyes, making her look fragile in a way that seemed impossible for an immortal elf.

Even just the aftershocks had exhausted the magic of both her and Kurtz, and they had even suffered considerable backlash.

Is this the power of a god?

It was truly terrifying.

"But why such a coincidence? We only just obtained this Orger not long ago." Norn still found it hard to believe.

"Serie, what do you think?"

Using Orger's magic to foresee the future, Kurtz had just seen the scene of the Skywing Clan appearing. The vision replayed behind his eyes with crystal clarity.

Skywing Clan Warriors continuously emerged from a super-large magic array, and then the thirteen individuals leading them began to unleash their strongest attack.

And Kurtz could guess without a doubt that this magic array was a super-large teleportation array.

Moreover, the magic within the stone slab was activated just now. This situation was a replica of the disaster that befell the first Dwarf Kingdom centuries ago.

It's just that this time, the Skywing Clan descended.

"I think that the downfall of the first Dwarf Kingdom was related to the Skywing Clan, or rather, to the Goddess." Serie put forward a startling theory.
