Chapter 14 - Chapter 13: Should I Let Go?

Should I Let Go

---

Andrei's POV

I couldn't really do anything here inside my room. It was already 2 o'clock in the afternoon and I was super bored staying inside. I couldn't stay still, just pacing back and forth, so I decided to go to the library for some advance reading. I didn't take long before I changed my clothes.

After changing, I grabbed my bag that was lying on my table, along with my cellphone and earphones.

I quickly left the room and shut the door behind me.

I went straight out of the dorm, and fortunately, the elevator was finally fixed. I was glad when I found out because it was exhausting to take the stairs-especially since I was on the 4th floor. Who wouldn't be annoyed in that kind of situation?

After a few moments, I finally reached outside of the dorm. Luckily, the library wasn't too far from here.

In just a few minutes, I arrived at the library. I immediately went inside since it was scorching hot outside. I took out my school ID so I could enter.

Inside the library

I was amazed at how big and beautiful the library here was. I started walking around to look for a place to sit.

I went straight to the spot in front of the air conditioner. Perfectly, not many people were seated there, so I quickly headed over and placed my bag on the table.

After putting my bag down, I went to the Engineering section to look for something to read. While browsing, I found the book Introduction to Algorithm. I was so curious about it that I immediately picked it up and continued searching.

I moved to another section and saw several books such as The Beginner's Guide to Engineering Series, The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman, Engineering in Plain Sight by Grady Hillhouse, and The New Science of Strong Materials by G.E. Gordon.

I wanted to grab and read all of them, but my head might explode from too much to study at once. So instead, I settled for The Beginner's Guide to Engineering.

There would still be another day to read the rest, so I let go of the others and returned them to where I got them.

I was about to head back to my table when I suddenly noticed Rayver walking.

Out of curiosity, I quietly followed him, hiding behind books and shelves.

As I trailed him, I was shocked by what I saw—he was with Bianca.

I couldn't even describe the look on my face after seeing that. Without hesitation, I continued to follow them.

Until they stopped, and I noticed Rayver glancing around, checking left and right, making sure no one was following or watching them.

Good thing they didn't notice me.

Then, they started talking. I couldn't hear what they were discussing because of the distance, so I just kept watching them. You could clearly see Rayver's concern for Bianca, even if I couldn't hear their voices. It was evident in his eyes and his expressions.

Then suddenly, Bianca hugged Rayver while still speaking. My heart shattered at the sight, and I couldn't hold back my emotions anymore-tears started falling.

I couldn't take my eyes off them. Then Rayver hugged Bianca back.

I couldn't bear it any longer, so I rushed back to my table, wiping my tears along the way.

Because of my distracted state, I didn't notice where I was walking and accidentally bumped into someone.

It caused the book I was holding to fall. I quickly picked it up and was about to apologize when I froze after realizing who I bumped into.

It was Liam.

"You?" I asked.

"Wait! Are you... crying? Are you crying?" he asked me, his voice tinged with concern.

I didn't answer and just continued walking to my table.

When I got there, he still didn't leave. Instead, he followed me and even sat in front of me.

"What happened?" he asked again, staring at my face.

"Are you following me?" I asked him, a bit irritated, my tone sharp because I was annoyed.

"Following you? No, I-"

He was about to explain, but I immediately took out my earphones and played some music just to quiet my mind, even for a moment.

But then, he did the same thing he had done before on the bus—he suddenly grabbed my earphones from my ear and put one in his own.

"Hays!" I sighed deeply.

I just let him be. But then I was caught off guard by what I saw-

Bianca suddenly exited the library, walking quickly, and a few seconds later, Rayver followed.

I quickly flipped open the book I had gotten earlier, covering my face as if I was simply reading.

But then, Rayver glanced in my direction. Our eyes met and held for a while, but I quickly broke it off and turned my gaze back to the open book.

When I looked again, he was already leaving the library.

I honestly didn't know what else to do just to avoid crossing paths with him. If things kept going like this, then maybe I really needed to distance myself... maybe even forget about him.

Then suddenly, Liam snatched the book I was holding, pulling me back to reality.

"What's your problem?" I snapped at him.

"It's upside down," he said in his gentle voice and handed the book back.

I felt a little embarrassed by the way I acted and started reading again.

"You didn't say that's the proper way to read," he teased, smiling.

I couldn't help but smile at what he said.

"Cute-" he whispered.

I didn't know if it was because of exhaustion or the chaos inside my heart, but for the first time today... I smiled.
