Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: A Good Child Who Loves to Study

Waking up early the next day, the three lovely roommates were already gone.

Carrying the books he needed for today's classes, Anton leisurely made his way to the school's dining hall.

Hogwarts has a total of one hundred and forty-two staircases, almost all of which move on their own, sometimes even disappearing suddenly, and some doors are just doors with solid walls behind them. Even if they were originally intended to defend against Muggle witch hunts, it's clear that the residents are the ones most affected.

And they are still kept this way.

Anton really didn't know how to complain.

Slytherin's first class was History of Magic, taught by a ghost named Professor Binns.

It was quite magical, the one who guided Anton into the wizarding world was a ghost.

After entering the magical school, the first professor was also a ghost.

Sometimes fate is just that strange, it seemed to be quietly telling Anton something through this arrangement.

Professor Binns was clearly a pure ghost, different from the old wizard. This professor lacked a lot of liveliness, and his lectures were like a 3D holographic video tutorial.

He didn't take attendance, nor did he pay any attention to the students below, as if the entire world consisted only of the classroom and himself.

His monotonous, dull voice read from a book that was obviously older than the textbook in their hands, sounding a bit like an AI's unintelligent audiobook program. The whole class was so boring it was perfect for catching up on sleep.

In fact, even though many students in Slytherin came from well-educated families, they couldn't help but doze off.

Only one person in the entire class was listening with rapt attention.

That was Anton.

He listened while quickly taking notes, and he suddenly discovered that once you got past the professor's tortoise-slow, drawn-out tone, he actually talked about a lot of magical content.

"...Wizards did not have the overwhelming ability to resist Muggles as one might imagine, especially after Muggles raised weapons that spewed fire..."

"...Wizards, forced to hide in the dark corners of the world, could no longer tolerate the fate of being captured and burned at the stake at any moment, so they invented a magical spell..."

"...This was the most crucial turning point in magical history, the Muggle-Repelling Charm, appeared...."

"...After the spell was cast, Muggles without magic could only blankly leave the wizards' sight without any resistance, as if nothing had happened. Even well-trained armies with a large number of fire-spewing weapons couldn't find their enemies. Yes, they even forgot who their enemies were..."

"...Let us remember this turning point and reiterate the importance of the Muggle-Repelling Charm. Rotate the wand three times, flick it up high then quickly bring it down, and say loudly, Alarte Mobiliuda Anpa. So simple, and we conquered..."

Anton really hadn't expected to learn a spell in History of Magic class.

He couldn't resist taking out his wand and trying the Muggle-Repelling Charm in the classroom. A flash of light from the spell appeared, but there was no visible effect.

But he had a feeling that he had successfully cast it.

Muggle-Repelling Charm...

Anton gained a new understanding of the old wizard's phrase, 'wizards are gods'.

Just by developing this one spell, Muggles were no longer a match for humans. Now, all the streets, houses, schools, the Ministry of Magic, and other places in the wizarding world have this spell cast on them. To Muggles, it's like another dimension of the world.

Anton even had an idea: if he cast this spell on a tank, or even a missile launch base, would everyone inside just leave in a daze?

No wonder Muggles are discriminated against in the eyes of wizards.

No wonder the wizarding world is full of ambitious people who want to rule and enslave Muggles. After all, Muggles are much easier to deal with than goblins.

War always promotes the development of technology, and this applies to wizards as well.

If even top wizards like Dumbledore were studying how to deal with human technology and developing spells one by one, then everything would be different.

Anton benefited greatly from his very first class at Hogwarts.

Not because he learned the Muggle-Repelling Charm.

But because he discovered that when faced with a huge problem in the wizarding world, the best solution is to research a targeted spell.

It wasn't a matter of difficulty, but that this way of thinking was completely different from before.

"Wizards are gods..."

Anton thought of Lupin and Nagini. Could it be that a spell could eventually be developed, and then everything would be normal?

It's very possible.

If Nagini's powerful witch mother were here, something like the Blood Malediction would really be a matter of a light flick of the wand.

The road ahead is long and winding~

I will search high and low~

Just like that, in less than a few days, Anton quickly became an outlier in Slytherin.

Most Slytherin students came from pure-blood or half-blood families. Many families had already started preschool education before the young wizards could even cast spells. The rudimentary knowledge of the first year really couldn't keep most of them focused in class.

"A spy from Ravenclaw!"

A classmate shouted mockingly at Anton.

Very good!

Anton just looked at him with a smile. It had only been a few days since school started, and this person wasn't focused on learning, but was already quite skilled at playing games like factionalism and labeling.

This is very Slytherin.

Of course, that night he brought his lovely roommate Draco Malfoy and his cronies to pay a warm visit, to educate this classmate on what Slytherin is all about.

There is a misconception:

Gryffindor is the house that violates school rules the most.

Obviously, this is not the case. Every house violates school rules.

In private, Slytherin students fight amongst themselves, something not seen in other houses. Of course, everyone has a tacit understanding to limit such things to the dormitories and the common room.

The wall sconces in the Slytherin common room are very sturdy!

Because this classmate was hung from one for a whole night.

Well, the magical flames in the wall sconces are very warm.

The next day, no one would disturb Anton's studies anymore.

The learning atmosphere shot through the roof, it was particularly wonderful!

Of course, Anton didn't like every class.

Flying class.

A class Anton found incredibly boring. He much preferred sitting in History of Magic class, listening to Professor Binns casually recount various mysterious historical anecdotes.

The flying instructor was Rolanda Hooch. Madam Hooch had exquisite flying skills, which were matched by her terrible teaching methods and her awful responses to the various emergencies in flying class.

Anton felt that she was more suited to participating in Quidditch matches than being a teacher.

"At that thrilling moment, I quickly dipped my broomstick, did a sliding tackle, and swiftly dodged the Muggle's helicopter. You have no idea, the stupid propeller of that strange Muggle machine was only a foot away from my hair at that moment."

On the day of flying class, Draco had been bragging almost all morning.

Ps: Helicopter was indeed said by Malfoy, it's from the original book.

After he finished telling everyone, he would glance at Anton smugly, as if feeling a great sense of superiority.

In order not to hurt his tsundere roommate's feelings, Anton could only follow along with a couple of "wow, wow" exclamations, and then continue to bury his head in his pile of books.

Luckily, the smug little boy finally found a better target for his bragging.

"Harry Potter!" Draco tilted his head up at a 45-degree angle and swaggered towards Harry.

Then, as usual, they started arguing again. Draco took Neville's Remembrall, Harry Potter rolled up his sleeves, Ron drew his wand, Hermione's eyes widened, and Professor McGonagall walked over from a distance...

Everything was noisy around him like a fleeting shadow.

But the excitement was theirs, Anton just wanted to study.
