A woman in love is very impulsive, and Miss Ilsa, with her luggage in tow, knocked on the door again without a second thought.
She moved in.
The shy Lupin was too embarrassed to let Ilsa stay in his room under so many watchful eyes, so he chose the most spacious master bedroom in his own suite downstairs for her.
All in all, there was one more person in the house.
But you could also say there was one less, because Lupin ran downstairs every day, and apart from seeing him at lunch and dinner when everyone ate together, he was almost nowhere to be found at other times.
The old wizard was downcast for a long time because of this, Lupin no longer sought him out to hang out after he started dating, that man now only had eyes for that woman!
Anton could only advise the old wizard to see more of the world and not spend all day in the bathtub in his room.
Lupin became more and more refined and energetic day by day, without needing Anton and Anna to painstakingly guide him. He was too busy, busy contacting the headquarters in America to handle the acquisition of equity, going on dates, going to the cinema, going to amusement parks, learning to drive, and doing so many, many things.
Anton had no time to mind him, he, Pedro, Rosier, and Anna were all working hard to explore the memories deep within their souls, none of them had expected it to be so troublesome, even with the help of the lucky pendant.
"I found it!" Anton's face showed no joy.
He waved his wand, and the light and shadow recording magic beside him flickered, an image of a bronze gate floated before everyone.
The gate was carved with countless goblin characters and many strange patterns.
"Behind the gate, but, what is this?" Anton asked.
No one answered, even Pedro the goblin couldn't say.
He glared resentfully at Rosier, "It's all your fault for making me travel through time tens of thousands of times, I've lost so many memories!"
Rosier frowned at the gate, "How about you take me back to a past time to ask your past self?"
Pedro gasped, "Again?"
"It doesn't have to be so troublesome, and you can't enter time and cause any more impact." Anton rubbed his temples in pain, and Anna quickly handed him an ice pack.
"Let's continue." Anton took a deep breath and pressed the ice pack to his forehead, "Every step leaves a trace, even if forgotten, the traces of memory will still be carved deep in the soul, let's continue to search for memories about this gate."
Rosier shook his head, "Child, you need to rest, it's very dangerous for you to keep overexerting yourself like this."
He thought for a moment, "I'll go back to the family first to find some potions for you, that might make it easier for you."
"Damn it!" Pedro's eyes widened as he looked at Rosier, "Why didn't you say so before?"
Rosier looked a little helpless, "I'm almost eighty, buddy, and I'm also affected by the tens of thousands of time travels, not just you."
Anna grabbed Rosier's hand with a nervous look, her little face wrinkled, "Don't say things like that, you will live a good long life."
Rosier gently patted Anna's head, "Of course, I will try my best to live and protect our little princess well."
Seeing that Anna didn't believe him, he couldn't help but laugh, "I've also been drinking Pedro's stubbornness potion, believe me, I will live as long as the little princess."
Pedro's eyes widened again, "Impossible, this is my biggest secret, how could I share it with you!"
Rosier chuckled, "I told you, we are the best of friends."
"Damn it, damn it, damn it!" Pedro glared at him unhappily, then looked at Anton strangely, "You don't seem surprised? You knew? You knew, didn't you? Did you already see it in my memories?"
Anton quickly shook his head, "I'm not, I didn't, don't make wild guesses!"
"You must have secretly learned a lot from my memories." Pedro held out his large palm, "Give me the pendant, I'm not playing with you guys anymore, to hell with all of it!"
He looked resentfully at Rosier and Anton, "My people were all killed by you human wizards, I can't let the knowledge of goblins be learned by you human wizards."
"Oh."
Anton smiled, "I've been waiting for you to erupt."
His fingers tapped lightly on the table, "Pedro, I will compensate you goblins."
Pedro sneered, "Compensate?"
"On what grounds!"
Anton looked at him with a smile, "I can turn into a 'Color-changing Wind Bird', can turn into the viper of a Maledictus, and I've now even developed a werewolf arm."
Pedro pursed his lips, "You are indeed a genius, but so what?"
"I will continue my research." Anton's eyes were full of determination, "I will eventually invent a spell to turn vipers into humans, to turn werewolves into humans."
"Because I have benefited greatly from your memories, I will also start researching goblins in the future."
Pedro's eyes narrowed, glinting with a dangerous light, "What are you planning to do?"
"Turn humans into goblins, oh, but I'm really not interested in that." Anton gestured with his hand, "But turning goblins into humans, now that's very interesting."
"Goblins turning into humans?" Pedro's eyes widened.
"Mhm." Anton nodded, "Just like a human's Animagus, this spell will become the Animagus for goblins, allowing them to live in the human world as humans, to completely integrate into this world."
"Not needed!" Pedro was furious, kicking the table over, scaring Anna who was beside him into hiding behind her father.
"Why should goblins become humans, why should they integrate into the human world?"
Anton remained seated, looking at him calmly, "Because the era of goblins has passed, now is the era of humans, the beings of every era must learn their own way of survival."
"Pedro, I know you are full of resentment, but that can only be your resentment, think about those goblins living like slaves at the bottom of society, if they were given a chance to live with equality, would they be willing?"
"Turning the goblin form into their unique Animagus, living as humans, this is the solution I propose."
"Pedro, you fool have persisted for hundreds of years, you've held onto the pride of goblins for hundreds of years, yet you've never once reached out to help your own kind live a better life, not even a little bit."
"You are a sage among goblins, their guide, what have you done?" Anton's eyes were full of mockery.
"No, you don't care about the goblins, you only care about the glory of the past, that's all."
"That's not true!" Pedro took a step back in panic.
With a pop, his figure disappeared.
The corner of Anton's mouth lifted, "You'll be back, back to beg me."
Rosier stared at Anton with a strange look in his eyes, "You're very much like someone I've met."
Anton looked at him in surprise, "Who?"
Rosier's expression became even more peculiar, "The way of survival, you've said this to ghosts, to werewolves, to goblins, and perhaps in the future, you will say it to different intelligent beings."
"???"
"Grindelwald..." Rosier sighed, glanced at Anna, "Fate is truly wondrous, our Rosier family always follows by the side of revolutionaries."
"Tch."
Anton was unconcerned, "Impossible, I'm too lazy to live such a tiring life, changing the world? How boring is that. Working myself to death, and throwing my own life into it, just to change the power structure? I'm no saint, don't count me in for such brain-dead behavior."
Rosier smiled and said nothing, "I'm going back to find the potions."
With a soft pop, he too vanished.
Only Anna and Anton were left, looking at each other.
"I will not be Grindelwald." Anton said seriously to Anna, adding silently in his heart, nor Voldemort.
Anna grinned, "Of course, you never do anything that puts you at a disadvantage."
Anton thought for a moment, and smiled along with her, "That seems to be true."
He really couldn't become some third-generation Dark Lord, he didn't care what the European wizarding world became, if he truly had the idea of dedicating himself to a great ideal, it wouldn't be here, he looked out the window at the distant rising sun, his eyes hazy.
"Can't go back."
"I have a home now too, right, Anna."
Anna looked at his side profile and nodded gently.
