Chapter 50 - Chapter 50 She Said I Was Charming

"I found traces of Nagini in time. I tried every possible way to guide her back to my side, but it didn't work. Time kept correcting everything." Rosier's mouth was filled with bitterness. "I kept trying to change things along the way, only to make her suffer endlessly."

"So I went back to an even earlier time, to the period when I took Nagini to find Pedro, to make a change."

"After repeated attempts, I found that I had succeeded!"

Rosier smiled very happily, this handsome old man with a face full of vicissitudes and fatigue smiled like a child.

"It's amazing. I changed countless things, and they were all eventually corrected. But only after Fiennes obtained a roll of magic books that I had left behind did things quietly change."

"???" Everyone turned to look at the old wizard.

The old wizard, however, secretly glanced at Anton. That book was full of strange miscellaneous talks, filled with unorthodox secret arts, including an ancient witchcraft for summoning demons.

At that time, he had just casually thrown this little apprentice's body onto the altar for an experiment, merely for amusement.

"I don't know, I don't remember, it was too long ago, I don't even know if I've read it." The old wizard denied it fluently.

Rosier smiled without saying anything, clapping his hands to draw everyone's attention.

"Time changed a little. I saw traces of use in my castle."

"So I kept returning to this point in time, and finally, I found you all."

"I don't know if you can succeed, but I have enough patience to wait thirty-eight years to see if a miracle happens."

"Of course, I can't place all my hopes on others. I started to go back to earlier times. Since Pedro could invent the Blood-Demon Curse, the great figures of the same era must have had a way to break it."

"The rules of time, ah, I was still fruitless."

Rosier sighed and stroked Anna's head, "Child, believe me, time travel will only lead to despair in the end. Don't touch it again in the future, it will only make you miss out on your real life."

Anna gripped Rosier's hand tightly, "Mmm, as long as Father and Mother are by my side, Anna won't go anywhere."

Rosier's face was full of tenderness, "Running around recklessly in time, my appearance has stagnated in my middle-aged years, but my body is already very old. I will cherish every minute with Anna."

Anna's eyes widened, and she held onto him tightly.

In any case, this was a good ending.

Anton snatched the necklace and put it on his neck before the goblin Pedro could reach for it.

"That's mine." Pedro glared.

Anton leisurely adjusted the necklace, tucking it into his shirt, and chuckled, "You still need me to use it to help you find your memories."

He stood up wearily and stretched, "I have to go back to sleep. You guys chat. We'll start once I've rested up."

The consequence of overusing spells was immense fatigue. As soon as he got into bed, he fell into a deep sleep.

Anna pulled Rosier to Nagini's room.

Pedro sat in the main hall in a daze, "This is crazy, entering time over ten thousand times. No wonder I have such a big problem."

The old wizard cackled, "You brought it on yourself. If you hadn't invented the Blood-Demon Curse, none of this would have happened."

"Yeah." Pedro sighed. "Sometimes I really want to travel back in time and give myself a big slap."

The old wizard laughed even more happily.

Lupin tidied up. After hearing so many interesting stories, it was time to go to work.

He was like that, always able to stand in a lively crowd, yet be inadvertently ignored by everyone.

But as Anton said, he had to find his own way to live.

A life that belonged to him.

In his life, he was the protagonist.

He walked out of the small building's residential staircase, went around to the front, and went up the stairs from the first-floor lobby to the second floor.

Everyone greeted him, and he responded with a smile.

"Manager, Andorra Mechanical Company plans to default on their payment. Mrs. Andorra said our company only provided a single sentence, and they have to pay a sky-high price for it. This is unreasonable." A young secretary walked over quickly with a notepad, looking anxious.

Lupin smiled and nodded at another person who greeted him, then said to the secretary, "Tell them that the information service fee cannot be reduced by a single penny. If they don't plan to pay, we will provide some interesting information to their competitors."

"This is just a small matter, no need to be nervous."

The secretary nodded.

They continued their question-and-answer session like this until they reached the office door, and the secretary's notebook was already full of notes.

"Is there anything else?" Lupin appeared calm and composed.

"No, Manager." The secretary looked at the notepad in amazement. "You're truly amazing, solving so many difficult problems so easily."

"No."

Lupin waved his hand shyly.

"I didn't know how at first either, but you just need to be patient and careful, and you will find the solution to the problem. These problems also once kept me up all night, thinking hard."

"If there's nothing else, go and get it done."

The secretary nodded and helped push the door open, "Have a pleasant morning, sir."

Lupin nodded with a smile.

However, this was destined to be an extraordinary day.

As it grew noisier outside the office, Miss Ilsa rushed in.

"Lupin, have you heard?"

Lupin looked at her with confusion.

"The US headquarters is going to shut down the UK company!" Ilsa was clearly very anxious.

"What kind of rumor is this now." Lupin was amused. They were in the information business, and the employees always had some channels to hear information that ordinary people didn't know, but this information was sometimes hard to verify.

"It's true, I've confirmed it with colleagues in France."

Lupin frowned, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the desk, "This is very unreasonable. Our UK branch's business volume is increasing day by day, and the funds we submit to the headquarters every month are a very large sum."

As he became more and more proficient in controlling everything, the business was getting better day by day, and he could even start looking forward to future glory. How could they talk about shutting it down? Had the people at the US headquarters been bitten by a werewolf?

"I'll personally call Mr. Smith at the US headquarters. I have some connection with him, he'll tell me the truth."

"Go outside and inform everyone that we'll have a meeting later."

"No matter what, we need to calm everyone down first."

"Okay." Ilsa hurried out, then suddenly stopped at the door, turned around, and looked at Lupin with a smile.

"Is there anything else?"

Her golden wavy hair swayed, and Ilsa's blue-green eyes seemed to be smiling, "Your calm and composed self is so charming."

Her long eyelashes fluttered as she winked, then she turned and walked out.

Leaving only Lupin in his office chair, giggling, "She said I was charming, hehe, she said I was charming!"

...

"What?"

Lupin seemed a little dejected, "Anton, you heard me right. The US company is going to shut down our company."

"That's really strange." Anton cut his sausage, forked a piece, and chewed it forcefully.

Lupin's expression was strange, as if he couldn't believe the words he was saying, "Several young masters of the family are fighting for the inheritance. For some messy reasons, the young master who controls the information consulting company business has decided to admit defeat and cut his losses to survive. He plans to sell all the companies in his hands to show that he only wants to live a life of debauchery, far from the center of power."

"That's outrageous." Anton clicked his tongue and continued to deal with his lunch.

Lupin sighed, "Other companies are one thing, but an information company can't find a buyer in London at all. Now everyone is at a loss, and so am I. We are the only information consulting company in all of London, we can't find suitable jobs in our field."

"Lupin!"

Anton put down his knife and fork, picked up a napkin, and wiped his mouth, "Have you ever thought that you actually have a sum of money in your hands right now."

Lupin nodded.

"Buy out this company and be your own boss."

Lupin was stunned, "I... can I?"

"Be confident, you absolutely can." Anton rubbed his temples wearily. "It's your life, you decide. This is just a suggestion. I have to go back to sleep. I really want to know what potion Snape gave me back then that allowed me to feel refreshed the day after overloading on spellcasting."
