Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 'Stubborn Phelps' Fairy Potion

The goblin potion replaces her past self with her future self, removing indelible pain and curses—a topic long denied in the goblin's memory.

This would create a powerful time paradox that would take three days and three nights to unravel.

But the subtle twist is that after this day, Nagini lived on the instincts of a snake for the next 38 years.

The goblin's secret potion, 'Sealed Prison,' similarly seals a person's soul, leaving them with only their instincts.

This creates a window for manipulation.

The original Nagini was killed by Rosier's powerful blow, her will completely devoured by the snake's body. Therefore, simply feeding her the 'Sealed Prison' potion before she was killed would produce the same effect.

Getting her to drink the potion was the crucial point!

Of course, whether this would work was unknown. Anton could only do his best, leaving the rest to fate.

  "Armor!"

Anton cast an Ironclad Charm on himself before charging forward without hesitation.

The snake instantly sensed him, spitting out its core, its pupils blazing with madness as it lunged forward.

Its speed was so extreme that it left only a blurry shadow on the retina.

Anton didn't dodge. He raised his wand and whispered the incantation, "Transfer Soul!"

The spell flashed, instantly plunging into the snake's head.

At that moment, the snake's mouth was only a few centimeters away from him.

Anton felt as if the man had been hollowed out. This profound dark spell was beyond his reach. A tearing pain spread from the depths of his soul.

  But it was worth it.

The powerful black magic instantly knocked the snake to the ground, paralyzed and unable to move.

The Soul Dislocation Spell flipped the soul inside out, dislocating it from the body, with a Sleeping Beauty-like effect. It was like turning a tortoise inside out; no matter how hard it struggled, it couldn't turn over.

This was a life-saving spell Anton had carefully selected from the countless dark spells in the old wizard's notebook, and it was remarkably effective.

  "Wingardium Leviosa!"

He cast the spell again, and the snake's massive body levitated like a feather. Anton quickly poured in the reserved "Sealed Prison" potion.

This potion imprisons a person's wisdom, knowledge, and will, leaving them with only instinct.

Meanwhile, the sounds of footsteps and cries from the garden, searching for their mother, grew closer.

"What are you standing there for?" Anton glared at Pedro coldly. "Come and carry her away, and free the other Nagini."

Pedro swallowed and scurried out of the rubble. The golem behind him snatched up the snake.

  "Got it!"

Anton waved his wand again. "Reverse Soul!"

This was the counter-spell to the Dislocation Spell, effectively negating the effects of the Dislocation Spell.

The snake awoke again, struggling in the golem's grasp.

Anton, however, collapsed to the ground, gasping for air. After two powerful spells, he was exhausted.

"Quickly release future Nagini and get away. Rosier will attack us here soon. If the wind from the explosion blows the cloth away and Rosier finds us, it'll be disastrous!"

Pedro hesitated. He could see Anton was trying to hold on. "But, you..."

Anton gave him a cold look. "Follow the plan. Release the snake, get to Anna, cover her, and hide. Got it?"

The centuries-old goblin was clearly a bit slow. When Anna failed, he shouldn't have just stood there in a daze, but rushed to control Nagini.

Pedro shook his head. "What an admirable willpower!"

Anton ignored him and hurried back to his hiding place. He also had to protect six-year-old Anna.

If Rosier didn't arrive in time when the snake attacked, he would have to cast the Shield Charm to protect her.

As a backup plan, Pedro not only had to control the snake, which no one else could catch, but also had to be ready to protect six-year-old Anna.

But that would expose him, so this was his last option.

After all, Pedro would easily be exposed in front of the powerful wizard Rosier. Anton, on the other hand, could transform into a magical invisible bird and remain undetected.

Next, it was time to protect six-year-old Anna.

The plan might fail, but if Anna were killed instead, that would be truly awful.

After Anton hid, Pedro quickly unleashed the snake. With a soft thud, he appeared beside Anna, covering them both with a large sheet.

Anna anxiously grasped his suit jacket. "Is Anton okay?"

  Pedro sighed. "I don't know."

  Anna's anxiety intensified. "What then?"

Pedro glanced at the snake in the purple goblin's hand. "Although it's affected by the time correction, at least it's still on plan."

Anna could only stare intently at Anton from a distance, wishing she could unleash a similarly powerful Shield Charm so he wouldn't have to face the battle alone.

The old wizard sighed and sank back into the tree.

  ...

  Gurgle, gurgle.

  Anton finished a large potion.

He'd told Pedro to leave quickly so he could secretly drink this stuff.

The 'Stubborn Phelps' goblin potion, a secret of the goblins, was one of two recipes Anton had retrieved from Pedro's memories.

The potion's effects were strange: it couldn't change anything, but it imbued one with boundless willpower, allowing them to stubbornly maintain a state of continuity.

Translated, it roughly translates to a persistent, passive form of 'gritting one's teeth and enduring.'

This potion was a high-end ingredient known only to a few goblins, for it touched upon the realm of death.

It allowed one to prolong life in a state of excruciating yet resolute endurance. This was the secret to Pedro's centuries-long life!

Gritting one's teeth, enduring for centuries, evading death.

If Pedro knew, he'd surely kill him.

Of course, this potion's effect was merely a 'gritting one's teeth.'

Anton gasped, fighting back the dizziness.

The magic of Harry Potter's wizarding world wasn't the internal energy or fighting spirit coursing through the meridians; it was likely a power of the mind.

It is born from human will, memory, and soul. It is a kind of intangible power.

There is no magic potion for this thing.

The simplest solution is to sleep and recover naturally. If the exhaustion is severe, sleep for a few more days.

He felt completely torn apart after casting the Soul Dislocation Charm twice, exceeding his capacity. He

also cast an Iron Armor Charm and a Levitation Charm.

He no longer had the magical power to cast any more spells.

But the interesting thing is that the extreme determination engendered by the "Stubborn Phelps" potion perfectly aligns with the old wizard's teaching: "The wizard is a god, and the will commands everything."

In Anton's eyes, this potion is like a second spell system.

"Mother? Mother, are you there? I hear you!"

Six-year-old Anna rubbed her eyes in confusion, searching the garden for a stuffed rabbit.

The rabbit was the Animagus of her mother from Anna's memory. Her mother told Anna that she had transformed herself into her and would use it to accompany her forever.

The lies of adults became a misunderstanding that young Anna believed.

Memory, though, can sometimes be unreliable.

  "Ah!"

An enormous viper slithered forward, staring at her with erect pupils. It spat out its venom and licked Anna's face.

"Chuckles," young Anna, frightened and itchy, couldn't help but let out a resounding laugh.

In the distance, everyone's gazes were mixed.

  Anton pursed his lips.

  The old wizard sighed.

Anna, hidden within the cloth, covered her mouth, but a choked sob escaped. She looked at Pedro mournfully, "I feel like I'm killing my future mother to save my past mother. I don't know if this is right or wrong."

  "I'm killing her!"

Pedro smiled and patted her head. "Although this is a paradox even the goblins debate endlessly, believe me, it's right. She is who she is, no matter the time period."

"No matter how her memories have changed, no matter what she's been through, no matter if she seems different from who she used to be, she is who she is."

"This is our effort, and also her self-redemption."

Anna stared blankly at Pedro. Though intelligent, she was only ten years old after all, and couldn't comprehend his words.

Pedro smiled. "Child, you've mastered all the secrets of my Time-Turner. In the future, you'll follow my path as a 'collector and explorer of time and memory.' You'll understand this sooner or later."

The snake affectionately rubbed its large head against six-year-old Anna's face, then reluctantly turned and swam away.

Inside the large cloth, Anna watched the scene in wonder. "So, even though Mother is gone, nothing will be the same. Doesn't this change history?"

Pedro sighed and shook his head. "Time will correct everything. You see, there will definitely be changes, forcing everything back to the original path forged by fate."

With a soft bang, a house-elf appeared beside six-year-old Anna, warily watching the snake as it turned its head back.

  "Little master, be careful!"

The snake hissed suddenly, spitting out its core, its vertical pupils filled with coldness, a ferocious beast-like ferocity.

  "Hurry!"

The elf's expression darkened, and he pulled Anna away, attempting to Disapparate.

Anton, hiding nearby, also clutched his wand tightly. However, the snake was far too fast. With a whoosh, it instantly entangled the house-elf's body, its body, as thick as a truck tire, tightening rapidly.

With a snap, the elf exploded like a watermelon under the wheels of a truck.

The snake swiftly pounced on Anna.

Anton, seeing the old wizard's fingers swiftly extend from the tree, finally breathed a sigh of relief and began to prepare to transform into a "color-changing wind bird."

His invented "bionic spell" was powerful, but it was still in its infancy, requiring a long induction and slow to cast.

A panicked cry echoed from the garden gate,

  "Nana, no, that's our daughter!"

Yes, Rosier had returned just in time.

But the snake ignored him, and its speed was so great that Rosier thought his daughter was about to be killed.

  "No!"

  Countless black mists swept in.

  Boom.

A heavy rain poured down from the sky. Rosier found Nagini's body among the rubble, overcome with grief.

At the same time, Anton turned into a bird and flew in the sky.
