Chapter Fifteen
Elora's POV
I stayed in the room that had been given to me earlier that morning. The final decision was that I would remain here until further notice, whether I liked it or not. Knowing that made the walls feel closer than they actually were.
I wasn't sure if I should leave the room. I had locked myself in since waking up, pacing back and forth, replaying yesterday's events in my head.
From outside, I could hear footsteps moving along the hallway. Sometimes it sounded like all three of them. Other times, maybe just two. I couldn't tell. The sound alone was enough to keep my nerves on edge.
After a while, I forced myself off the bed. My fingers wrapped around the doorknob slowly, my body tense as if I was about to walk into danger. The door opened and my breath caught instantly.
Ronan stood right in front of me.
"Oh, you're awake," he said, his face lighting up with a wide smile. "I was just about to call you."
