The mortal world was vast, chaotic, yet strangely ordered. From the high peaks of the eternal mountains to the deepest shadows of the endless forests, life thrived in forms both fragile and terrifying. Yet all of it existed under rules, hierarchies, and an invisible order that even mortals felt but seldom understood.
The Higher Races
Above the mortal realm, three higher races ruled over the balance of existence.
The Gods: Sovereign and supreme, they controlled the forces of divinity. They rarely intervened directly but shaped the world subtly, deciding the fates of kingdoms and heroes.
The Angels: Guardians of light and judgment, tasked with maintaining order and punishing those who defied balance. Their wings spanned the skies, their gaze piercing and absolute.
The Demons: Embodiments of shadow and destruction, cunning and unpredictable. Though often feared, they, too, served the cosmic balance in their way, ensuring that power did not stagnate.
Even the higher races, however, respected the flow of life below, for meddling too directly could shatter the fragile harmony of all realms.
The Mortal Races
Beneath them lived the lower races, each striving for survival, growth, and power.
Humans: Adaptable and determined, humans lacked the innate magical prowess of elves or the raw might of monsters, but their potential was limitless through training, innovation, and courage.
Elves: Graceful and long-lived, elves were naturally attuned to magic and the flow of life. Their elegance often concealed a lethal skill and sharp intellect.
Monsters: A vast, varied group, ranging from simple beasts to intelligent predators. Some were mindless creatures, driven by hunger; others wielded cunning and strength rivaling mortal generals.
Other Races: Goblins, dwarves, beastfolk, and countless others populated the world, each carving their niche in the delicate balance.
Even the weakest human could survive by wit, while the strongest monster could become a legend—or a catastrophe.
