Spirit Transformation Technique!
Eight Inner Gates Formation!
Might Duy?
After hearing Uchiha Kai's request, Sarutobi Hiruzen fell silent.
He couldn't understand.
The techniques Kai asked for weren't of immense value—if anything, they seemed far too trivial.
First of all, the Spirit Transformation Technique had once been practiced by Kato Dan, and its power… wasn't that impressive.
As for the Eight Inner Gates Formation, needless to say.
Back then, his teacher, Senju Tobirama, had personally gathered a batch of academy students and instructed them in this forbidden technique.
At the start, the intention was clear:
to cultivate a squad of suicide fighters.
The Eight Inner Gates Formation placed tremendous strain on the body—one wrong move and it could mean death.
But likewise, once the gates were thrown open, one could instantly surpass their limits and strike down the enemy.
If it had succeeded, it would've been a great boon for Konoha.
Unfortunately…
Not a single one of those students succeeded.
Worse still, their bodies were ruined in the attempt, leaving them unfit even to become ordinary shinobi.
That was why Tobirama had no choice but to abandon the idea—
and finally sealed the technique away.
At this point, Sarutobi simply couldn't figure it out.
Why on earth did Uchiha Kai want these useless jutsu?
So… should he give them?
He didn't fully understand, but he knew Kai well enough to be sure—he wouldn't ask without reason.
What was worthless to him might hold value for Kai.
After a long pause, Sarutobi finally spoke slowly:
"Very well. I agree."
Bang!
He pulled out a scroll, unfurled it with a pop, and revealed the massive Scroll of Seals.
Flipping to the proper pages, he lifted the seals with a wave of his hand, then pushed the scroll forward.
Yes—every forbidden technique in that scroll was protected by a sealing jutsu.
Since Uchiha wasn't versed in fuinjutsu, Hiruzen doubted he could unlock them himself.
But Kai wasted no time.
He activated his Sharingan on the spot and began copying the two techniques directly.
"Oh, Kai-kun," Hiruzen asked casually, lips curled in a faint smile,
"That Might Duy… who is he? Just a Genin, isn't he? Why would you be interested in him?"
It was a light question, almost offhand.
But in truth, he was curious.
After all, if someone was worth Uchiha Kai's personal attention, then surely that man couldn't be ordinary.
Kai's expression remained calm.
He didn't bother hiding anything, and replied in a relaxed tone:
"Yes, he's just a Genin. But he trained in the Eight Inner Gates Formation. I've investigated—among all who once practiced this forbidden jutsu, only he managed to survive, even if he advanced no further than Genin.
The others? Much worse.
Their bodies collapsed completely, and they couldn't even remain shinobi.
Might Duy may be weak, but the fact that his body endured gives him research value.
Since I intend to train in the Eight Inner Gates Formation myself, he might be able to give me some hints."
Kai smiled as he spoke.
Having lived two lives, he knew well—the highest form of lying was nine truths and one lie.
Everything he said was true.
Should Hiruzen investigate, he'd find no falsehood.
The only thing hidden was this:
Might Duy had already succeeded in mastering the Eight Inner Gates Formation. No one in Konoha knew it yet.
In the original timeline, this man kicked four of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist to death.
But now—perhaps because of Kai's arrival—Might Duy's moment of glory had been erased.
And Duy himself was too honest, too simple.
Expose his strength? Attract attention for better treatment?
Heh.
That thought had never once crossed his mind.
Which was perfect.
Now that the chance had come, Kai wasn't about to waste it.
And indeed—
Hiruzen, who'd felt some initial interest, instantly lost it after hearing Kai's explanation.
A Genin who practiced the Eight Gates but didn't collapse completely?
Perhaps of some reference value to Kai.
But to him, the Hokage? Utterly useless.
He didn't practice the Eight Gates, nor did he want to raise a suicide squad.
So, forget it.
Shaking his head, he said faintly:
"Very well. I'll send word to Nara Shikaku on the front lines. When you arrive, Might Duy will report to you.
Your requests—I accept them all.
Two days from now, Minato will return. You can depart with him."
He had no intention of lingering.
Hiruzen took back the scroll, turned, and left.
He truly couldn't stay another moment in Uchiha Kai's house.
Damn it.
Every glance at those exquisite teapots, teacups, and that priceless tea…
Tch—forget it.
He had to endure.
Business first.
At least Kai would soon be out of Konoha. That thought alone lightened his mood.
Indeed, this visit had been a plan made together with Koharu, Homura, and Danzo.
The reason was simple.
Uchiha Kai caused too much trouble.
Just last night, he'd struck a blow to Hiruzen's authority.
Keeping him in the village was a recipe for disaster.
Better to send him away where he could cause less damage.
But more importantly—it tied into Danzo's scheme.
Though Danzo hadn't reported,Hiruzen Anbu knew he was in contact with Hidden Cloud Village.
When the time came—
With Konoha and Hidden Cloud Village working together, Uchiha Kai's death was guaranteed.
Of course, another detail was critical:
when the trap was sprung, Minato must be drawn away.
Hiruzen knew his disciple well.
Minato's sense of justice was too strong.
Normally he could ignore village corruption.
But if he saw Kai in danger, he would definitely intervene.
That couldn't be allowed.
They'd have to discuss it further.
With that thought, Hiruzen quickened his pace out of the courtyard.
The little courtyard grew quiet again after his departure.
Uchiha Kai narrowed his eyes.
His mind worked furiously, weighing the transaction—had he gained, or lost?
But more importantly—
What kind of killing move was Konoha preparing once they sent him out?
And when he left—what would become of the village?
Fugaku couldn't handle it.
And Uchiha Shisui was lurking, waiting to stir up trouble.
Sigh…
Kai let out a helpless breath.
What a headache.
