I wake up to the sound of beeping, opening my eyes and seeing a white ceiling, I hear a voice.
"Ah good you are awake glade to see that, but if you're wondering yes you are in a hospital no you are not in some kind of government facility."
I look to my side and see the main doctor talking to me.
"How long was I out for."
"You've been out for a week, and it seem like you are lucky, because it seems like in your record it says you did not have a Duomythos, but seems like you have awaken a Aetherion.
"How do you know this?"
"Ah seems like you can't hear me am I right."
"Yes there's like a ringing in my ear right know."
"Ah makes sense."
As I look a little closer to his face I realize, that is the face that made my whole world change.
"Wait aren't you". As the doctor cuts me off "Yes I am your doctor when you were little and the only reason I remember you is because you are one of a few people that can never be born with a Aetherion as I was told to believe."
I just look down.
"But kid you surprised me since you have a Aethrion, even though your body is like pre-Duomythos."
As I look at my hand I remember the pain I had felt that day "How did you guys find me"
"Someone had made a noise complaint about someone sounding like they were dying on the street, and what we saw it looked like a crime scene and look kid I don't know how you are alive with losing all that blood."
"My Aethrion had caused me to heal everything."
"Oh then that's a good thing."
"NO, it's not it felt horrible it was like I could feel my body being torn up healing in the worst way possible, it felt like I was going to die because of my healing."
"Alright kid my bad, but I had done a little background check on you and it seems like you're a trouble maker."
"I'm not the school would make me seem like a trouble maker, then they would also make me seem like an idiot for failing."
As the doctor writes it down on his notes "Alright kid I can help with a few things since discrimination with a Duomythos is considered illegal."
As I look at him confused "What did you mean you can help me, and what do you mean by Discrimination for using a Duomythos."
"Well don't worry too much about the other one since you will learn about it in school, but depending on what hospital you go they can help you with proper records that can fix you on something like your GPA for example."
As I start to understand what he is saying "wait what about my record of "violence" that I have, because it can't it be fix at all since I have no way to fight at all."
The doctor shakes his head "We can't really do anything about it unless the school board decides to do something about it your records will stay like how it is."
"So when can you help me get test with my record for my GPA."
"Well we would need proper papers signing it from your parents but other than that you can't do a retake."
"Okay" as I look down
"Wait, when did Nexoria Exam Happen."
"Oh it has already happened sorry kid but you can't go unless you got connection to take it."
"I-I miss the exam limit."
As I fall in self-pity a noise goes off and the doctor picks it up.
"Hello, yes, okay, alright let them in, yes the kid is awake."
"Alright kid seems your folks will be coming soon and bring some extra people as well okay.
I just nod my head not even looking at the person anymore.
"I will step out and help the other patient while your folks get her."
And as the doctor steps out, silence fills the room, I can't even think knowing my one and only chance of getting into Nexoria Academy is ruined.
As I start to drown into self-pity I hear a door open and look to my left I see my mom.
"Oh sweetie are you okay." As my dad step in "Hey are you okay we have been checking every day even your sister was worried about you."
Wait what my sister that doesn't make sense she hates me, or she probably does that to make it seem like she cares when she doesn't care.
"Ya I'm okay"
As my mother looks at me "Why were you out so late sweetie."
"I just need some fresh air that's all"
As I speak I see some unfamiliar people behind my mom.
"Mom who is that person?"
"Ah you notice well he is-" as my mom gets cut off by this person "I am the principal off Nexoria Academy nice meet young Amako"
As the dog looking thing puts his paws out, I was too stunned to speak but shakes his hand but once I get back to my senses. "Wait aren't you Sentinel Hero: Arcanum."
"Oh you know me well isn't that a surprising I thought I was unknown hero." As he gives a little smile.
"Who wouldn't know who you are, when you are the most important support hero of today and possibly forever even if you are rank 30th in hero rankings, wait I need my notebook so I can sign." As I try and bring out my notebook realized that I don't have it at this moment.
"It's alright kid you can have my autograph for later, but that is not the reason why I came here, I came here was to discuss why you were not at the Exam but now I see why." As the principal turns around about to head out.
"Wait sir I want to take the Exam since I had been hospitalized, I was not able to take it but I want to."
As the room fell into silent for my request the principal turns around and ask "Why should I let you take the exam, when not only are you a delinquent you are also not that smart as well a 0.5 GPA that is impressive and that is not a good thing, and even if I decided to ignore all of that you don't even have a Duomythos, and I would rather not be the reason for your death because someone without Duomythos decided to be a hero."
I can't say anything everything he says is true even if I had a Aetherion I can't do anything about it but just as I lose hope.
"Actually I believe there's something's you can change with, what I can show you principle."
As everyone turns there head to who spoke it was my doctor who speaks. "Well the first thing is the kid has a Aetherion, the next thing is the kid most likely got a grade modification to make it seem like he is not smart, and the third and last thing is we both now he can't fight back since he was not born with a Duomythos and developed his Aetherion a week ago."
And just like that everyone went silent I was stunned that my doctor spoke up for me and trying to prove why I should go take the entrance exam.
"Even if we did, there is nothing I can legally do about it." As the principal says.
"Oh but there is you can as your hero status you can go and investigate the school for discrimination making one of their students be educated in such a hostile environment for a student and any possible future student, next the hospital can provide a proper GPA test for students who might have gotten discriminating or wrong in there school and it is school district approval."
As I start to feel excited about me possibly being able to take the exam.
"We can do that but I do have a question what do you mean he has a Aetherion because last time I check he was not born with one."
And so everyone looks at the doctor then at me as I start to speak "Yes it is true I do have a Aetherion…but I also have a Fatum."
That shocks everyone even the doctor since he did not know about my Fatum and only now I have Aetherion, and my mom asked the question everyone has in mind
"What do you mean you have a Fatum, the had doctor said you have a Aetherion and how would you know you have a Fatum."
"Well the reason I know is because when I first awakened my Aetherion my body would heal in a way that would hurt my body in the worst way possible." As everyone Gasped on what I said but I kept going ignoring the gasped.
"But something had appeared, I could not see what it looked like but it told me, that I do have a Fatum and that it would not fully unlocked yet because something about a moment of true despair will allow me to awaken my Fatum."
As I finished talking it had seemed like I have answered there question but seemed to put in more question then answer as well.
"Well that's good information to deal with, but that will come later so principal what do you do you believe he should get a chance in a late exam."
The principal sighs but agrees. "Alright I will agree but you will get it differently then what others did the Written Exam portion will be the same but for the Physical Exam it will be completely different after."
As I look at him and smile after a while without knowing it and being happy, for getting a true chance no pain, no fear, just happiness.
"Thank you I will make you proud sir."
