I gasped so quietly that I doubt even a Zubat could have heard me.
Three Mega Evolutions at the same time. In the anime, we could have had only a single mega evolution for a match, but of course, in real life, such rules wouldn't apply. Even if such rules existed, they were probably only for tournaments and supervised matches. Otherwise, in the wild, when it is a matter of life and death, who would care for just one Mega Evolution or two?
That said, I could feel the raw power from the Mega evolutions far from the actual battlefield.
It seemed like my Pokémon could also feel the power from the Mega Evolutions; they looked like they were enchanted. No need to say, but just from the faces of Zeraora, Zorua, Binacle, and Jangmo-o you could tell that they were envious of the power displayed by the Agent's three Pokémon.
The grunt's faces had long since turned pale. They were slowly realizing that maybe it wasn't a good idea to turn against their leader.
However, also knew that the deed was already done, and there was no going back from here. They had already launched their attacks against her.
Just then, the Agent spoke up,
"Mega Metagross, Protect"
"Mega Alazakam, Psybeam"
"Mega Gengar, use Dazzling Gleam."
A chilling blue light streaked toward Mega Metagross,
"Dewgong, Ice Beam!"
A violent jet of water followed,
"Frogadier, Water Pulse!"
A wicked, shimmering energy sliced through the air,
"Tinkatuff, use Steal Beam!"
Mega Metagross, acting like the team's iron anchor, responded first. Its massive, segmented body shifted slightly, and a shimmering, vibrant green barrier materialized around it just microseconds before the first attacks landed,
"Protect!"
The Ice Beam shattered against the invisible shield, sending icy shards uselessly into the scorched earth. The Water Pulse exploded in a burst of vapor, and the Steal Beam, a focused ray of energy, harmlessly deflected off the dome.
The defensive shield held, showcasing Mega Metagross's high skill while using Protect.
But the attacks continued,
"Lycanroc, Rock Throw!"
"Bayleef, Leaf Blade!"
"Leavanny, Solar Beam!"
"Shellgon, Dragon Pulse!"
"Electrode, Roll Out."
"Electrode, Roll Out."
"Electrode, Roll Out."
"Electrode, Roll Out."
Simultaneously, four Electrode exploded into action, their bodies tucking inward as they initiated Rollout, becoming four high-speed, spherical electric hazards aimed directly at Agent Valkyrie's position.
The ground around the resistance fighters suddenly became unstable as Mega Gengar, anchored to the world by its lower, dissipating body, focused its power. The air shimmered, and a wave of devastatingly beautiful, multi-colored energy erupted,
"Dazzling Gleam."
The spectral power washed over the Lycanroc and the Bayleef, tearing through their defenses and sending them reeling with crippling damage. The attackers screamed, momentarily blinded by the spectral light, their formations breaking apart in panic.
As the chaos spread, Mega Alakazam delivered the final, crippling blow. It raised its five shimmering spoons, its eyes glowing with a cold, terrifying mental intensity. It targeted the mind, not the body,
"Psyshock!"
A focused, invisible wave of psychic force slammed into the entire disorganized line of resistance. The sheer mental assault was too much for the already wounded and demoralized Pokémon and their trainers. The Shellgon, the Leavanny, and the Lycanroc all collapsed, their consciousnesses fractured by the overwhelming mental force.
The four Electrode continued their Rollout, gaining dangerous momentum as they spun toward Valkyrie. But Valkyrie, unfazed, simply signaled the end.
"Mega Metagross, Metal Claw."
Mega Metagross, dropping its Protect barrier, surged forward with devastating speed. With a coordinated, multi-limbed strike, it intercepted the four incoming spheres. The final confrontation was swift and brutal. Four thunderous metallic thuds echoed through the clearing as Metagross batted the high-speed Electrode away like mere pebbles, sending them crashing into the trees, where their electric momentum dissipated into silence.
The surviving resistance was completely neutralized.
Valkyrie took a slow, deliberate breath, the spectral form of Mega Gengar, the shimmering mental field of Mega Alakazam, and the armored bulk of Mega Metagross holding their positions. She hadn't moved an inch from her original position, nor had she raised her voice above what was required.
She surveyed the scene of total devastation—a landscape littered with defeated Pokémon and silenced grunts.
The three Mega Evolutions instantly deactivated, the brilliant rainbow light collapsing inward, leaving Gengar, Alakazam, and Metagross standing in their normal, powerful forms.
The grunts were too stunned to even speak. They couldn't even comprehend how their Pokémon didn't last more than a few seconds.
Frogedier, Dewgong, and the four Electrodes lay lifelessly on the ground in front of them.
Just one attack, and they were dead.
The others were also in a similar condition. But, Bayleaf and Leavanny, both being grass types, were known for their high defense and huge stamina under the sun. Shellgon, being a dragon type with an outer shell, kept itself alive. While Lycanroc and Tinkatuff, being rock and steel types, also took huge damage, but were not at death's door.
The grunts looked towards their Pokémon, helplessly hoping at least one of them could let them escape.
It is not that they didn't have other Pokémon, but these were their strongest; if these couldn't hold the fort for more than a single second, then the others wouldn't even be able to move under the opponent's presence.
"Elite-level, you never told us you were elite-level."
A grunt suddenly called out towards Agent Valkyrie.
"You forget that I am your boss, I don't owe you anything, especially since you decided to revolt against me for a few Pokémon."
She replied.
And then she also continued.
"Next time, when you're working for me, remember to listen up and follow exactly as I say."
Hearing her words, the grunts who had been fearing for their lives relaxed, knowing at least they wouldn't die here in the obsidian forest.
They soon remembered their injured or dead Pokémon lying in front of them and stepped ahead to take care of them, but they stopped.
Or more accurately, they were stopped.
A blue outline crossed their bodies, and before they could even move their mouths to beg and plead for mercy.
"Gengar, enjoy your meal."
"Gennngg----- Hehe Hhhee--"
"MmmmmMM MMm"
"MMM MMMM MMm"
Soon, the muffled screams of the grunts stopped as four loud thud sounds came from the ground. It was their dead bodies falling after being released by the Psychic.
"Of course, that is in your next lives, if you ever work for me."
For the first time since the battle started, she moved to look back towards me, who was still surrounded by my Pokémon trying to defend me.
But, as she started moving towards me, I already knew there wasn't a chance in hell I could escape from this woman, so my best move will be to follow her.
