The Zhu Clan courtyard that night did not look like Star Luo aristocracy anymore.
It looked like the battlefield of gods.
Chen Xin's Seven Kill Sword had barely entered the fray when cold laughter whispered from the air. A shadow slipped from Yue Guan's side, chilling aura sinking the temperature by ten degrees.
Ghost Douluo.
"Ghost–Chrysanthemum… together at last," Chen Xin muttered, grim-eyed. His grip tightened on Seven Kill Sword. Alone he feared none. But those two together, with their Martial Soul Fusion: Polar Realm… his scalp crawled.
If they finish their fusion, even I won't survive.
A laugh suddenly tore through tension.
"Chrysanthemum pass! Daddy's here to explode your chrysanthemum again!"
Emerald green light flared as a tall silhouette strode in. Long hair, heavy robes, wicked grin.
Dugu Bo.
In years past, he had almost died under the tag-team of Ghost and Chrysanthemum, saved only by shallow coincidence. He bore the humiliation like venom in his gut. After months of healing, he stalked them waiting for revenge. And now? They came to him.
What sweeter chance? Hug Chen Xin's thigh in friendship, pay back Yue Guan double, AND stand by the grandson-in-law Lu Yuan? It was too perfect to waste!
Yue Guan's expression soured. "Old poison, when did you start wagging someone else's tail?"
"Tail your grandpa! Lu Yuan is this grandpa's grandson-in-law!" Dugu Bo thundered. "Try to move him and I'll shred your admiration-flowers into fertilizer!" Nine rings flared behind him, emerald light staining the courtyard like poison tide.
Four Title Douluo. In one Star Luo manor.
Zhu Zhenyuan's scalp had long since gone numb, his entire body stiff. Our Zhu family… why is our backyard suddenly a colosseum for immortals? He thought he'd seen a Soul King genius. Now he was watching the heavens themselves fight above his roof tiles.
Davis crept beside him, whispering urgently, "Father-in-law… the Emperor asks… what in the world is happening?"
Zhenyuan's lips twisted. "What's happening? Four Title Douluo fell into our yard at once! Go explain that to His Majesty!"
"…Father-in-law. Can you just… ask if they plan to stop?" Davis muttered nervously.
Zhenyuan's gaze skewered him. Ask? Which suicidal dog dares "ask" four Title Douluo mid-fight?
Sky Battle.
Dugu Bo's snake body uncoiled — thirty meters of emerald-scaled terror erupting with mist, fangs splitting clouds as he hissed at Ghost.
Across from him, Ghost Douluo's body blurred, shifting in and out of existence until only smoke remained. Martial Soul True Body — a nightmare wraith of shadow and claws.
Below, Chen Xin's silver arc slashed against Yue Guan's golden chrysanthemum field. Sparks thundered, granite shattering under the shockwaves.
Ground Battle.
Lucien tilted another jug to his lips. "Tons… HAA!"
A golden-winged Soul Douluo — Lordiala, Martial Soul Golden Eagle — dove from above like heavenly punishment. Blades of feathers shot down in volleys.
But nine arcs of Sword Qi already spiraled around Lucien, knitting into a dome overhead.
Ding ding ding—!
The barrage scattered sparks harmlessly off his swirling protection.
Lordiala gaped midair. This boy… still only Soul King! How is that barrier possible? Even a Soul Douluo would shred under my wings…
Lucien laughed, black sword flames igniting. With another "Surge!" powering his limbs, he blurred skyward, sword howling.
Break Through the Air!
Nine streaks of icy Sword Qi carved toward the eagle midflight, forcing Lordiala back into frantic guard. His metal wings shivered, dozens of scarred feathers scattering to the night.
Below, Bai Chenxiang's pupils dilated. He's… stronger again. Every fight, he grows. What terrifying monster did I cling to that night…?
Back in the courtyard, Zhu family disciples shook like leaves.
"This isn't a Zhu clan estate anymore. This is… fighting gods…"
"No! It's four gods, and a drunk demon with five rings terrorizing Soul Saints!"
Above, silver cut gold, shadow clashed poison, and Lucien himself laughed midair, jug swinging, sword dripping black fire.
And in Star Luo's palace, Emperor Dai sat pale at his council. "Explain. Now."
But none of his generals or ministers had an answer.
Because what played out that night in Zhu family… was the beginning of a storm destined to drown the entire continent.
