Mira Chisaki, the woman who saved him earlier, is the captain for the seventh division of sparks of the Tokyo branch of sparks. She's known for being incredibly beautiful, but more-so for her excellent combat abilities. Although she is the captain of the seventh division, she has remarkable combat prowess and strength.
Just as he's thinking to himself, a blonde girl, with a ditsy appearance begins to talk to him
"Heya Tsuki" she playfully says
"that's not my name" he responds, his gaze colder than usual
this girl is Kijiri Sakuraba, an annoying girl that's been following me around since the third grade.
"Don't you have studying to be doing, miss 'petal'" he says
"relax, the entrance exam for JSA aren't until next month so I've got plenty of time"
JAS stands for junior sparks association, an academy to train people with potential to become sparks. 'Petals' are what we call candidates to join JSA, and if you will be transferred to one of the four JSA Academies.
Tsukasa and Kijiri continue talking about random topics, homeroom begins.
During class, Tsukasa' eyes start to drift and he sees a man in a black hoodie doing nothing, sitting under a tree. The man looks at him, keeping his face hidden, signals something to Tsukasa, placing his thumb facing down on his nose and sticking out his pinky. Tsukasa has no reaction for the man and simply watches as the man begins mouthing something.
'Cafeteria' the man says, as right at that moment, a loud bang can be heard coming from the cafeteria, and as the school begins to get enveloped in a mysterious mist, Tsukasa thinks to himself, 'what the hell'. But as he looks back, the man is gone. The teacher requests for everyone to calm down as the whole class erupts in panic.
The scene then shifts to captain Chisaki, as she seems to be lost in thought.
"that boy" she says as she thinks about the moment she saved Tsukasa from the spirit.
"his reaction was so terrifyingly calm. Almost lifeless"
Just as she says this, a man enters her office calling for her. He tells her how spirits are attacking a local high school.
"Send a strike team then" she says
"there's something you don't understand ma'am" he says as his expression changes
soon we see Tsukasa and Kijiri running from spirits. As they run, Tsukasa laments on how he just wants to live a quiet and peaceful life, and that today just wan not his day. As he's lost in thought, he fails to realize that there are spirits in front of him. Just as the spirits are about to attack the two, a sword slash cuts the animal like creature into pieces as well as the ones behind them. They look up to see captain Chisaki standing before them. Her and Tsukasa's eyes lock briefly before she tells them to get to safety.
The two arrive at the school gate. Seeing that most people are safe. Some twenty minutes later, another girl is brought to the location, but she intends on going back
"No! KAGAYAMA!" she yells, "my friend is still in there!"
"You have to go back!" she continues
the spark reassures her that her friend will be fine, because captain Chisaki is still inside. Ten minutes later and Captain chisaki has yet to return with the girl.
The sobbing friend, whose name is Chiharu, cries at the thought of her friend being dead. Tsukasa, at the sight of her tears, feels a sense of unease. Just then another spark comes back, brutally injured. His teammates ask of the whereabouts of captain Chisaki, but he just begins rambling, saying that they request for backup. As he's on the ground, he mumbles the words too strong and return before he falls unconscious. Tsukasa overhears one of them saying that calling for backup will take too long, and that the girl's friend most likely didn't survive, which brings the girl to tears.
Tsukasa walks up to her and asks where last she saw her friend. The girl tells him that they were on the third floor together but got separated, and with no hesitation, Tsukasa bursts past the guards at the gate and runs into the school. Meanwhile Mira, looking injured, finds the girl's body, covered under pieces of rubble. As she tries to free the girl, she feels a presence behind her and stops. She then suddenly draws her sword and blocks an incoming ball of dark energy from behind her.
"Oh, you're quick" a voice says
And as the figure steps in the light, a beautiful woman with blue eyes and hair emerges and gives Mira a cold stare
"let's continue playing, shall we" the woman says, her crystal but menacing aura surrounding her body.
