Chapter 1 - A New World

I looked up from the golden interface in front of me, wondering just how I got roped into all of this.

One day I was just eating crisps while wondering what it would be like to create my own world, with my own mechanics.

Next thing I know, BOOM, here I am just floating in space with the divine power of creation running through my veins.

'I was just imagining it, damn you! I didn't actually want to be taken away from my care free life of loafing and watching videos online!'

'Wait, NO! My hard drive! It needs to be destroyed! NOOOOOO!'

I wail in despair, the weight of knowing that one day someone will eventually discover the contents of all the...content hidden in my hard drive was soul crushing.

'Ah, why couldn't I have at least had the chance to destroy it before crossing over. What if my family visits? My sister has concept of boundaries and will definitely look inside.'

*sigh*

'Well, it doesn't matter now. I'm here and that is what matters.'

Looking over at the planet before me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at its beauty.

'Such a beautiful planet, it's such a shame that the previous god decided to abandon it. Or did they fade? Doesn't matter, the point is that it's been on its own for too long now.

Whatever the previous God had intended for some of these species definitely did not come to pass. Just look at all the monsters and beasts running around, that clearly was not on purpose.'

I feel a sudden sense of responsibility and a urge to make this planet better, give it hope, give it a fighting chance to become...more.

I will make the Earth before me into the best planet in this universe, it will become the centre of innovation and creation, featuring all of my blessings, and eventually, hopefully, the people will never again have to feel fear every time they merely step outside of their homes.

Future generations will not know what it means to be cold and hungry, knights and hunters will no longer fear death or have to give a last goodbye to their families when they go out to fight the monsters, and merchants will thrive as the economy grows with inventors creating more advanced technology as the days go by.

Even doctors will thrive with the health care knowledge, blessings, and ingredients that I can provide.

As some plants that existed on my world do not exist here, I guess that I will just have to make them. A new plant for any aspiring herbologist to find, and doctors to use.

Heh, it's kind of weird to think that I can now give blessings. As previously mentioned, I could be effectively called neet in my past life, no serious skills, no ability to provide anything other than cash. Times have really changed.

That being said... I am not as all powerful as I hoped I would be.

Yes, it's a shame but I can only do so much without Faith, and I am a new god without any followers.

I don't sense the presence of another divine here, the people who live on this planet don't even have a proper religion yet. They may know what the term God means, but their are no churches or steadfast followers of any entity yet.

Good, no competition, no complications. I can just present myself, give gifts, modify the world, and then advance it's evolution.

Of course, I will need the identity of an influential figure other than God so that I can live on the Earth without being constantly harassed for new things or blessings...the first immortal mage perhaps?

They have guilds here also, though they don't have magic or cultivation, they have martial arts techniques.

I wonder how they would feel should the martial arts become... More.

Yes, that's it.

First I will establish myself as a god, gaining faith from my believers, then I will create a new system:

Magic, it will contain custom spells like from a certain wizarding world with my own flavor thrown in, potions, rituals.

Alchemy, this will follow the rules of a certain duo alchemist team of brothers, I will make it so that the philosopher's stone is still costly and expensive, but does not require someone else's life, of course I will also be adding Runes to this so that magic tools can be made.

Cultivation, cultivate dillegently and become-... Ascended, well, to semi-immortal levels. I won't allow anyone to become anywhere near my level of strength or power but they can at least destroy kingdoms and live forever if not killed.

Maybe I will add more later, but for now these are the paths that I am going to open for my new world in terms of defence, offence, and enhancements.

Each profession will have its own way to become immortal, powerful, and healthy, though, some will understandably be more efficient than others.

Right, so to explain the geology a little bit, there are humans, demi-humans, monsters, animals, demons, and mutated beasts in this world.

Every region has its own kingdom, and Humans live in harmony with the Demi-Humans. With all the struggles going on just to survive daily, no one has the patience for an imbecile who discriminates here, in fact, many kingdoms have even put discrimination as a high crime.

I'm thinking of new magic systems just imagining all these new species that I have nrver personally seen before, I know that I was complaining earlier about how I was forced to come here, but now I am kind of excited.

"Let's do this."

Just as I was about to teleport onto the earth, I realised something crucial.

"Wait, if they see me in my real form then won't they die? The amount of divine energy radiating off of me could give six nuclear bombs a run for their money in terms of radiation..."

'I'll suppress my energy as much as necessary, no more, no less. I don't want to hurt anyone, but I don't want to be taken lightly either.'

"OK, now that's sorted, let's go."

[Aldrin Kingdom]

[Guild Master - Kurt FredericksPOV]

"Alright folks, you know the drill, mutated beast are causing trouble near the forest edge again. We need some people to check it out, and if possible, put them down."

Coming down the stairs leading to my office, I came down and made the announcement that I knew would make make the Hunters not only groan, but also complain.

I was right.

"Guild Master, can't we have a break? We've been running back and forth almost 24/7 for the past month? Can't we trust the beasts to just off each other for once? My feet are killing me!" Stacy Bradley, one of my best and strongest hunters yelled, while chugging back some Ale.

Seriously, I have no idea how she doesn't pass out from how much she drinks, I'm pretty sure that most of her earnings from commissions that she takes goes into drinking.

A loud grumbling fills the guild as almost every hunter present agress with her. They are tired and want to rest.

I sigh, if only we were in a world without so much death and destruction, perhaps we really could rest, pack up the guild and just go home.

Unfortunately that is not the world we live in, and unfortunately everyone here is very much aware.

Most of the hunters here have had to watch friends, family, and team mates die right in front of them, either not being able to get to them in time, or just not having the strength to help in the first place.

Why is our world like this? God can be so cruel.

"Enough, you are hunter! You make your money by taking on assignments and defending the kingdom from threats that the shiny knights are too stuck up to touch, we are the first line of defence against what's out there. Every minute we sit idly by is another potential death in the future.

I would love to say that we live in a world where we can just go out, get the job done, and then kick up our feet and not bother with what come next but unfortunately we live on a far more unforgiving planet. No one can take our place.

We must continue for the safety of the people, those who trust us, those who rely on us. We must for those families and children who walk down the streets with smiles on their faces, we must make sure that none of them have to feel the pain that I'm sure many of you have already gone through.

No beasts, demons, or monsters will make it past our first line of defence!"

A loud roar fills the guild as many people, inspired by my words, start banging their weapons and yelling, thankfully regaining their vigour.

"Alright old man, I just wanted a little rest, no need for a speech."

She says that but I see the smirk creeping up on Stacy's face.

I smile, proud of my hunters, and just I was about to give the order for everyone to get going, I froze.

I didn't freeze out of fear, or having forgot something, no. I froze because I suddenly heard a light voice in my head that was not my own.

'Tell me Kurt, do you belive in miracles, do you believe that one decision is all that it takes to change the world... do you believe in God?'
