Chapter 1. The job interview
Lila stared out the window as the bus rumbled down the highway. She was on her way to a job interview.
Having lived with her parents in a minimalist neighbourhood, Lila, a 21 years old graduate of accountancy was determined to make a living in another country.
This led to her moving abroad in search of greener pastures. Although, it was against her parents and siblings wishes, they had to give in due to her strong persistence. She was the youngest and favorite child and as such, she was loved by all.
It was a rainy day which disrupted all Lila's plan. she was already shivering and rubbed her both palms together for warmth
Lila sighed and pulled out her phone to check the time. she was running late and felt quite uneasy, having been her first job interview since she moved to a different country.
As Lila looked up, she noticed a Guy sitting across her and watching her with a hint of amusement.
"cold, huh?" he said, as he approached her with a jacket wryly smile on his face.
"such a handsome gentleman" Lila thought. to herself as she accepted the jacket from him.
"guess this isn't exactly how you planned your day" he said
Lila smiled while looking at his handsome features "you could say that" she mutered slowly
"mind if I sit here?" said the stranger
Without any moment of hesitation, Lila nodded in affirmation "sure you can sit".
As he sat down, their shoulders touched and Lila felt a spark of Electricity "who is this guy? and why am I feeling this way?" Lila thought to herself.
" Max" said the stranger
"I am Lila" she said with a smile
Max could not help but notice the smile in her face and the swiftness to which she avoids meeting his eyes. "Shy little one" he said to himself while creasing his forehead.
As the bus turned onto a winding road, the passengers shifted adjusting to the discomfort caused by Max. An elderly couple in front row held hands together reminiscing about their own adventures. The elderly couple shared tales of their travels, while the musicians in the back row sang in a lively tune.
Lila and Max sat together in silence admiring nature and the serenity of the environment, the bus passed by the highway and stopped waiting for the passengers to alight. Max stood up in a bid to alight and turns toward Lila.
"maybe I'll see you again" he smiled sheepishly while folding a piece of paper in her hands " call me" he muttered
Lila felt disappointed seeing max leave the bus but was relieved after getting his number. Smiling back at Max, she muttered goodbye creasing her lips in a shy but seductive manner which Max immediately noticed.
As he walked towards the building, Lila couldn't help but reminence on physical features... his tall stature, thin but pink lips, his shiny black perfect hair, broad shoulders, sharp jawline and his perfect abs underneath his well buttoned and ironed shirts.
"a god in human form" she unknowingly said loudly to the hearing of the aged couple.
