Chapter 1 - Prologue

Splash!!

The beautiful face went cold, mixed with a stinging, numb sensation. The ice cubes had melted, leaving only small, tiny pieces, some with sharp edges that cut parts of his skin. His beautiful eyes struggled to open, clouded by water droplets that also made them sting. The first thing he saw was a tall, handsome man with a sharp face, wearing a solid black suit that made him look even more attractive and cool.

Although he hadn't seen many people dressed so formally, he had to admit that the other person looked so good he couldn't take his eyes off him.

"Why did I have to marry someone who only causes trouble like you ?"

His voice was deep, soft, and pleasant to listen to, even dreamy. He began to wonder who this dreamy young man in front of him, even though his face and hair were soaked with water, dripping down his face.

even if the words of man in front of him were not as good as his face.

"What?" His slender eyebrows furrowed. Even when he was confused, outsiders would still find his face beautiful, but not the man in front of him. The man thought that the beauty on the face of the one soaked in water was like a rose coated in poison.

"Stop it, Phupa ! please...."

"He hurt you first. How can I just stand by and do nothing?"

Wow...

Even the man standing next to "Phupa" looked good. Although not as tall or big, and in fact rather small compared to the other, he had long legs and a cute face that made him want to pinch his cheeks. His clear, glass-like eyes showed obvious worry.

He was stunned by the handsome men in front of him, but was also confused about what was happening. Just a moment ago, wasn't he crossing the road to go back to his company?

"But Kin just misunderstood... so..."

It seemed that the naive-looking young man's eyes were starting to well up, causing the handsome man to stop all his actions and shoot a brief, angry glance at him before turning back and gently caressing the other's rosy cheeks and red-tipped nose.

This situation left him even more confused about what was actually happening.

"Kin ?"

'Did he just call me Kin ??'

He repeated the name the other person said and pointed to himself. His eyes then caught a glimpse of his reflection in the glass wall of a nearby cafe. The face that appeared was not the one he was familiar with, but a complete stranger. He surely didn't know this person at all. He turned back to look at the two people who were sweetly comforting each other, while he stood there watching along with everyone else in the cafe.

"Is this me?" Kin walked closer to the mirror and examined his face in detail, even pinching his cheek so hard it almost bruised, but found that it hurt a lot, so he stopped. His current reflection was beautiful, beyond words. His beautiful eyes sparkled, and his soft hair felt amazing to the touch. His nose and mouth looked as if they had been sculpted perfectly by the hand of a god. Although the word "beautiful" suited him more than "handsome" how did this god-created face become his?

Kin looked at the two of them again. It seemed their sweet moment wasn't over yet. He collected himself and tried to piece together what had happened. Kin stared at the handsome man's face, which still looked handsome even in his fury, and the name that was mentioned.

"Phupa."

"What do you want now?"

"...And Pinyin?"

The smaller man standing next to the handsome one flinched and moved to hide behind him. He was so scared just by the name he called out. From his reaction, he knew the name he had uttered was correct.

Now...

He was in one of those sappy, romantic, omegaverse BL novels he had read back in his thesis-writing days. Back then, he wanted to do everything except work, so he bought a novel to read. Even though it was just a clichéd, predictable novel, at that time, it was the most fun he had ever had reading.

Phupa, the protagonist of the story. It was no surprise that the other person looked so good and had a rich aura about him, as he was born into a prominent family, handsome, rich, and smart.

He was a protagonist in the typical sense, but what set him apart was his intelligence. He loved the main character more than anyone else in the story. No matter how much anyone tried to slander him, he would always find evidence of his innocence and protect him.

Pinyin, the innocent and adorable main character. His charm was his naivete, which often got him tricked, but it also made him more lovable and in need of protection. The two had been close friends since childhood, secretly liking each other all along but never confessing until the very last page of the novel.

And he... was the other main character in this novel. 'Kin' a beautiful omega from a noble family, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, with two older brothers. and he is the youngest, he got everything he wanted.

The story began just because he had a crush on the protagonist, Phupa, he did everything he could to get him, only to find out that even if he got the body, the heart belonged to the main character, Pinyin. So he did everything he could to get rid of Pinyin.

Of course, his actions were not only useless but also made Phupa hate him even more, while also solidifying Phupa's feelings for Pinyin.

In the end, Kin died in a staged accident meant for Pinyin, but Phupa had a counter-plan, which led to the villain's death instead. Once the obstacle to their love was gone from the story, it was time for the couple to openly love each other in the end.

That day while reading it, he felt conflicted, wondering how the protagonist could kill his own spouse. But he didn't like the villain in the story much either. Who could love someone with such a bad and selfish personality?

He looked at the protagonist with sympathy for a moment before realizing that the villain who was supposed to die at the end of the story was him now. The sympathetic look on his face began to drain away.

Based on the current situation, this was the first time the protagonist had met the main character at a cafe after their marriage. The villain followed them, intending to separate the two, causing a scene at the cafe. In the end, he was dealt with by the protagonist and had to retreat. When he read it, he found it satisfying, but when he experienced it himself, it was not satisfying at all.

After all, he, in Kin's body, had done nothing wrong. He had never once been angry or hated the adorable man in front of him. The thought of killing him was nonexistent. But he had to bear the consequences for the real Kin.

He immediately backed away without saying a word, thinking that the rest of the scene was no longer necessary for him to be a part of. It was not because he felt defeated.

Phupa looked at Kin, who was walking away quietly, with surprise. He thought the other person would be much more furious and create a scene, just like he had before, but he didn't. Kin's face, which used to be cold, full of anger, and violent emotions, had suddenly relaxed and looked confused. But no matter what, he had to comfort the man beside him first.

"Are you okay?" Phupa turned back to give his attention to the small man whose body was trembling with fear.

Kin walked outside and found that the place felt completely unfamiliar. Everything looked clean and orderly, unlike the real world he lived in. It made sense; this was a romantic novel's world. If it had ugly, bumpy roads, terrible traffic, and heat so hot you'd almost explode, no one would be in the mood for romance.

While admiring the city, he tried to recall the plot of the novel as much as he could. The last time he had read it was five years ago, so he only had vague memories of it. He didn't know what happened in his old world. Why did he end up as the villain in this novel? If he died from heatstroke while crossing the road, it was plausible. But it would be even more pathetic if he got run over by a car again.

But the confirmation that he had died in a sudden blackout was the fact that he was now standing in a new body in some unknown world. Had he really died in his other world?

Thinking about it would only make him miserable. He still had a lingering thought that all of this was a lie. Maybe it was a dream, but the cold water on his face had numbed it for a while, and he had pinched his cheek until it was bruised. It seemed it wasn't a dream.

The first thing he wanted to know was where he should go next. He didn't know anything about this villain. The novel only described his wickedness, his bullying, his fury, and his selfishness. He decided to search his body for anything that might help. His hand hit his phone in his pants pocket, along with a wallet. He took them all out and checked the wallet first. All the important things were there, including his credit cards, ID card, hospital cards, and a bunch of other cards. Gold cards, black cards, so many cards made his eyes were about to pop out; he didn't know what they were all for.

What caught his eye was a thick stack of large bills that made him unable to stop smiling. If he had a stack of money like this in his old world, he would be comfortable for the rest of his life. At first, he planned to use the phone to randomly call someone to pick him up and take him home, but the money in his wallet made him want to do something else instead.

He was this rich; why would he go home and be sad alone? He had to go out and have fun for sure!
