Chapter 5 - Chapter 3: Black Night Rose

The Abyss and Mutated Zone within a hundred miles of Dongwu City have been cleared, and the subordinates of the Ancient Gods will not approach the Dawn Federation at this time.

Baiyi knows what they are waiting for—in the next thirty years, no one will attempt to provoke a Legendary Sword Saint nearing the end of his life, not even a god.

They are plotting the arrival of other colossal beings to Dawn, but they have retracted their claws and gazes, quietly awaiting the disappearance of that sword.

Baiyi examines the boss template, mainly concerned about experience value, skill points, and free attribute points.

These things are not unfamiliar to Baiyi; free attribute points are hard to obtain and are mostly rewards from tasks, since every level-up in this game allocates points based on the impact of your profession and breakthroughs.

In other words, each attribute point is an extra boost, akin to a precious potion permanently increasing attribute points for a standard NPC.

And the rarity of attribute points makes the Specialty [Spiritual Growth], which adds ninety points to Spiritual Power, seem particularly staggering. If viewed from a normal player template, a Spiritual Power of one hundred and ninety points should belong to Silver Middle Tier, that is, Level 38-43.

Plus, it's continuously increasing, truly deserving of a boss template, isn't it?

The obvious advantages of powerful Spirit are that it allows Baiyi to wield the Soul's power, making his intentions stronger, thinking more flexibly, even forming a force that becomes part of his combat strength...

Crunch... Crunch...

It can also... discover things that were previously undetectable.

Baiyi's leather shoe paused slightly on the snow, he tightened the windbreaker on his body and pulled the hood up, covering half of his eyes.

The black attire is quite conspicuous in this white world. If observed closely, it becomes apparent that his pace is gradually slowing.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh...

The snow around grew heavier, visibility in the snow was low, tending towards forming a blizzard.

From the hem of his windbreaker, one thumb-sized mechanical ball after another drifted with the snowfall the size of goose feathers, scattering around.

Baiyi stopped at the valley's exit, reached inside his windbreaker's lining, and pulled out a black revolver, minute spiritual power stimulation causing a subtle electric arc to form on the weapon.

He smoothly released the safety of the gun, aimed the revolver at a white area ahead, and pulled the trigger without hesitation.

Boom!

A tremendous explosion intensified the surrounding snowstorm, a special bullet faster than sound pierced into the snow.

"Uh..."

After a low moan, blue arcs raised the snowflakes, and crimson began to spread a glaring hue over the snow.

Boom! Boom boom boom…

The revolver's cylinder kept rotating, the blue arc leaping continuously, Baiyi's powerful Spiritual Power locked onto the mouse attempting to ambush him, the recoil of the Bronze Level revolver caused Baiyi's hand to tremble slightly.

Yet through spiritual power modulation, he managed to fire five bullets carrying powerful kinetic energy ahead in a very short time.

The hot breath from Baiyi's mouth turned into mist in the icy snow, further blurring the already poor visibility of the front.

Rustle~ rustle~

"Don't... kill... me...."

In the blurred vision, an ugly figure initially crouched in the snow was retreating, uttering sharp sounds ceaselessly, but these sounds were swept away fragmentedly in the blizzard, looking extremely miserable.

Baiyi's Spiritual Power locked onto that fleeing creature, slightly aiming with the revolver in his hand.

Boom!

After a tremendous blast, the short creature's pace halted and slowly fell forward, disappearing into the snow.

A smile appeared on Baiyi's face, the revolver in his hand bursting with electric arcs, the intense electric light tearing through the snowstorm, a hint of divine intent subtly emerged.

He abruptly raised his aiming arm to the left and pulled the trigger.

Buzz~

Six bullets had already been fired, the blue arcs on the revolver coalesced into a light beam that blasted out violently.

Boom! Crack...

A blast accompanied by a sound of shattering glass exposed the hunter hiding behind the bait.

Clap clap clap...

The sound of applause erupted, and a muscular man holding a shield, wearing a goblin mask stood behind someone thin, wrapped entirely in black cloth, only revealing a pair of eyes, saying, "To think you could discover us, this sort of Spiritual Strength, unheard of, no wonder...."

Baiyi peered through the storm at the other two, two Silver Lower Tier, a Warrior and an Assassin, not sure which direction they transferred professions to, and no more information revealed.

But looking at that gaze, Baiyi's smile faded, something wasn't right.

"What do you want from me?" he asked probingly.

A trace of disdain flickered in the Assassin's eyes as he drew an envelope from his chest, black energy flashing subtly in his hand, and the letter turned into a dart directed towards Baiyi.

Shadow Assassin!

Baiyi instantly judged, slightly moved his head, narrowly avoiding the envelope zipping past his head only to halt abruptly in mid-air.

The energy manipulation is top-notch!

When Baiyi saw the mark of a black rose on the envelope, his heart sank suddenly.

"Sign it!"

A command-like voice came, no benefits mentioned, but bad effects were obvious—not signing meant death!

Baiyi's eyes hidden under the hood grew grave; he just recently broke through, targeting a Bronze Upper Tier scientist, the opponent dispatched two Silver Lower Tier fighters, and initiated a war of attrition to engage, this... can it not be said to really belong to this organization?

"What if I don't?" Baiyi asked calmly, his voice revealing no emotion.

But as soon as the words fell, the atmosphere in the field suddenly froze, the presence of Silver Level disrupted the snowstorm, a strong sense of crisis enveloped Baiyi.

It was clear, the answer was already given, along with a chance for regret.

Baiyi casually put the handgun in his pocket, his right hand instinctively fidgeting with his left index finger.

In the endless snowstorm, the field's atmosphere gradually turned oppressive.

This organization is too well-known, a side character in the promo of Dawn District version 3.0, with the dying Sword Saint of the Dawn Federation being a primary promotion point.

And in that three-minute promo, some fully obscured faces in the darkness stood out, standing behind a group of high-status figures, seemingly predicting grasp extending over the entire Kingdom.

Black Night Rose, this is the final boss of version 3.0, with 97% realism, tormenting players terribly, with a highly mysterious organization structure that led East Asia Region players into a Werewolf Killing script involving millions.

NPCs issuing tasks had enemies infiltrating, many cheerfully went out to do tasks, only to joyfully fall into enemy traps, players died without understanding the reason.

As some top players dug deeper, the whole Dawn got involved in whether their NPC was an enemy NPC, whether the mission is a deathtrap or a true task, and finding ways to kill these hostile NPCs left them puzzled.

Players from Star Federation and Sun Federation enjoy the spectacle, marveling at the game's insanity, which fails to hint at NPCs' identity as friendly or hostile.

The reason Baiyi could recognize them at a glance was because he joined the game at version 3.0, the tormenting experience compelled him to watch expert guides daily, though there were no clear features.

But the gaze filled with arrogance that everything is under control, with the iconic [Recruitment Death Warning Letter] was enough to discern the truth.

After all, they first threw the letter, followed by a threat, and they would dispatch more powerful and higher-tier professionals than the enemies to deliver invitations.

So they rarely failed, having arrogance accompanying caution—join, or face death.

Once Baiyi noticed their arrogance, it reminded him of the fear when ruled by false NPCs.

However, Baiyi now wouldn't overly fear this organization; before the Old Sword Saint's death, all devils and demons would remain quiet.

This is also why players didn't discover this organization in the past two versions.

The Assassin's killing intent was blatant, he said coldly, "Is this your final choice? Before you die, you can change the answer anytime."

The Assassin spoke as his figure vanished into thin air, the Warrior was eager to move, within a hundred meters, a Silver Level Warrior could arrive in the blink of an eye.

They wouldn't give the Alchemist a chance to rearm.
