Caleb Lockwood walked over to the young lady and sat down.
"This morning, while we were still discussing the surgery plan, the hospital's payment office called to say that a kind benefactor had donated a large sum of money for bed 42. The surgery fee is covered."
The man's voice was gentle, and his ink-black eyes looked at Serena Sutton.
Kind benefactor? Serena furrowed her elegant brows slightly: "Did that kind benefactor leave a name?"
Caleb shook his head and said slowly, "The staff at the payment office only knows he's a tall and handsome young man, looking a bit lazy and nonchalant..."
"My second brother?" Serena asked somewhat uncertainly, did her brother really help that person? He really is someone who says one thing but does another.
"It should be." Caleb held her hand, letting the young lady lean against him, sitting by his side.
