Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: After Three Years, Another Encounter with the Scumbag

Hearing the soft, gentle voice of the other person, Cecilia Vaughn felt the irritation she had just managed to suppress rising again.

She turned her head, and what came into view was a face full of apparent innocence.

It was Fiona Vaughn.

She pouted her rosy lips, looking pitiably as she greeted Cecilia.

"Sister, what a coincidence, we meet again."

...

Although it was a face praised as beautiful even in the entertainment industry, to Cecilia, it looked unbearably glaring.

Taking a deep breath, Cecilia's dark almond eyes showed a trace of impatience.

"Fiona Vaughn, now it's just the two of us here, why are you still pretending?"

"Don't you find it fake?"

Fiona pursed her lips, her expression becoming even more pitiful.

"I'm not pretending, sister. We haven't seen each other in three years; I really miss you. Actually, our parents miss you too..."

"Heh—"

Cecilia let out a sarcastic cold laugh.

Miss her?

Weren't they the ones who wished for her imprisonment, the ones who never believed her no matter how much she explained?

...

Cecilia wiped the water stains on her hands indifferently with a tissue.

"My mother rests in the heavens. I don't know where there's a mother for me in the Vaughn Family."

She even suspected now that back then, her mother must have known about Florence Warner and Fiona's existence, which is why the accident happened during that sea disaster.

Being rebutted so mercilessly, Fiona's throat choked up, and she quickly forced a sheepish smile.

"No matter what, at least my mom is your stepmother, and Dad is your biological father. They've really worried about you."

"A stepmother and biological father scheming to seize their daughter's assets?"

Fiona looked at Cecilia's cold face, and soon her eyes filled with a slight redness, an innocent yet deeply pitiful appearance.

"Sister, how can you slander Dad and Mom like that?"

"Blood is thicker than water; we are clearly your closest people!"

"The issue of you going to jail can't be blamed on us. As for the estate, how can a daughter judge her parents? You, a weak woman, Father is just managing it for you."

...

Managing it for her, indeed!

Seizing her mother's inheritance while playing the victim!

Cecilia lifted her long lashes, her voice chillingly cold.

"Have you said enough?"

"If I remember correctly, the Law Family and the Vaughn Family both suppressed the news of my imprisonment, yet here you and Chloe Alden are repeatedly bringing it up. I think the media might be curious about this unresolved case."

"You know the truth better than anyone; of course, even if it can't be uncovered, you, this big star, hooking up with your sister's fiancé who was in jail, might still make headlines!"

Each word landed with a force like steel needles.

Fiona was completely taken aback!

She never expected that after three years, the once naive and gullible woman would not only become shrewd but also accurately grasp her weak spot!

Since she is now a public figure, how could she publicize being a homewrecker along with a criminal case!

If it blew up, it would certainly be disastrous for Cecilia, but even worse for her!

...

In just a few seconds, Fiona's thoughts changed back and forth. Finally, she bit her lip and forced a fake smile.

"How could that be, Chloe and I were just worried about you after you got out."

"Dad and Mom haven't seen you for so long, they really want to meet you. Even if you don't want to see us, you should at least meet Evan, right?"

Mentioning that sickly younger brother, as expected, Fiona noticed a hint of anxiety on Cecilia's face.

Ha, trying to compete with her!

No one knows Cecilia's weakness better than she does.

...

Thinking about her younger brother born with congenital heart disease, Cecilia felt a weight settle in her heart.

"Fiona Vaughn, don't go too far."

"Evan has been weak since childhood; he's a patient. If you and Florence dare do anything to him, I—"

Before Cecilia could finish, suddenly, a sharp scream pierced her ears.

"Ah! Sister, why did you push me—"

"It hurts—"

...

In an instant, Fiona's graceful figure fell straight to the ground!

With a loud thud, her body hit the floor——

Cecilia's pupils suddenly dilated.

It was just the two of them; why was Fiona still putting on such a performance?!

Having been framed by Fiona numerous times since childhood, a terrible premonition flashed through Cecilia's mind...

She coldly stepped back, not yet having time to figure it out, when a man's reprimanding voice echoed through the restroom.

"Cecilia Vaughn, how shameless can you be!"

...

Hearing that familiar yet unfamiliar male voice, Cecilia's expression froze, her throat seemed stuffed with cotton, unable to speak.

She woodenly turned her face, and a strikingly handsome face appeared in her sight.

Still those emotional peach blossom eyes, but now filled with anger and coldness.

His rugged, well-defined face still the same, but the look directed at her was full of gloom and disappointment.

...

In an instant, the entire world seemed to go empty.

She never imagined a reunion would be like this, how laughable.

It was as if someone had stabbed Cecilia's heart, and it bled in agony.

She thought that after three years, she could face Tyson Law with some calm, but in this moment, her emotions spiraled out of control.

She clenched her hands in irony, unwaveringly meeting Tyson's furious gaze.

"Tyson Law, do you really think I pushed her?"

...

In the corner, Fiona lay painfully sprawled on the marble floor, her small face streaked with tears that kept falling.

"Tyson, it hurts so much… it really hurts…"

Tyson glared at Cecilia with a surge of anger, his expression mocking.

"Cecilia Vaughn, I never thought you'd turn into this, if you didn't push her, would Fiona be stupid enough to hit the ground herself?"

Indeed, he didn't believe her.

It was the expected answer, Cecilia silently clenched her hand tighter, her expression numb.

And Tyson hurriedly ran to Fiona, pulling her into his embrace, his fingers gently wiping her tears.

"Stop crying, Fiona, it doesn't hurt anymore, be good..."

...

The man's expression of extreme tenderness turned into countless mockery in Cecilia's eyes.

Cecilia Vaughn, oh Cecilia Vaughn, this is the "good man" you mistakenly thought you could entrust your life to, blinded as you were.

At this point, she wasn't even interested in explaining.

The only regret was once misjudging people and liking the wrong person.

...

Just as Cecilia was about to step away, the fragile person in Tyson's arms suddenly spoke up with a crying voice.

"Sister, I'm begging you, don't go, okay? Mom and Dad really, really want to see you."

"You're out of jail; why won't you come home?"

"It's all my fault, I know. Sister, you hate me, but love doesn't follow a sequence."

Saying this, Fiona became more tearful, her reddened eyes seemingly full of plea.

"You can hit me and scold me, I accept it, but Tyson and I truly love each other."

"Please… can you give us your blessing?"
