She'd never seen anyone in the village with such a hairstyle; the originally very straight hair was now curled, styled with mousse, looking particularly fashionable.
"Did the salon help you with this hairstyle? Did they charge you?"
Yang Xiumei leaned over, cautiously touching her curls while exclaiming her amazement.
"It looks really nice, my daughter is truly beautiful with this new look, it's a real eye-opener."
Ye Xiaotong felt like she was floating from the compliments.
Happily, she touched her new hairstyle and handed the oil-paper wrapped meat buns to Yang Xiumei.
"Mom, let's have meat buns for dinner. Haven't you gone a long time without having some?"
