"Lying?"
Julian Fairchild nudged forward.
Maeve Lane's face instantly turned red as if it were about to drip blood. She spoke a bit haltingly, "You rogue."
"Is that so? I think you like it very much."
"Nonsense."
Julian laughed softly in her ear, his voice a bit husky, "You know in your heart whether it's nonsense."
Even the roots of Maeve Lane's ears turned red.
Julian glanced at the time, reluctantly providing her some distance, "It's getting late. I remember your audition is at eight-thirty, right?"
"Mm." As soon as Maeve got her freedom, she hurriedly pushed him out, her eyes still avoiding his, as if afraid of seeing something that would make her more uncomfortable, "You go out, don't disturb me while I'm brushing my teeth and washing my face."
Julian's lips curved slightly, no longer teasing her, "Mm."
Before leaving the room, he added, "I'll be back when you return, and when you leave, I'll leave too."
