We both almost simultaneously climbed onto the insect's head. The six legs of the insect posed considerable resistance to us, with sharp spikes on them. Getting poked by one was quite... uncomfortable.
Little Red's experience was probably similar to mine; the spikes wouldn't cause it real harm, but getting poked occasionally disrupted its climbing movement. It didn't hurt, but got in the way.
