Vincent felt his body tense as he heard the judge pronounce them man and wife. They turned to face each other. This was the part where they kissed; he hesitated, but she stood looking at him. They had agreed to make things look real, though he hadn't explained the details of their marriage to her. All he told her was that he needed to get married to get the position of chairman. That was enough information. He thought.
The court wedding had been small, with just her mother, Chelsea and Henry in attendance. He had yearned to have her lips on his for days. He would have kissed her but he thought himself a gentleman. For the sake of the act, he leaned forward as his hand grabbed her waist. He could feel her heat seeping through her white dress. She had worn a knee-length dress that outlined her figure, her hair was done in a messy bun. he craved to undo it as he held her close. Her black almond eyes peered into his as he lowered his lips to hers.
He felt sparks in his head as his lips met hers. He heard her gasp; she must have felt it too. He pulled her closer as her lips parted, permitting him. She tasted of chocolate. He hated chocolate, but on her lips, he would willingly take poison. He heard the others clap as they pulled apart, and he smiled at her yearning for more.
"Congratulations to us, Queenie." He said as they signed the wedding certificate. His heart swelled. He was getting what was his. This time, nothing was going to stop him. Once he became the Chairman, he would stay away; he could not be around her, she burned him, she made him do things he shouldn't do. It seemed like she had control over him. He liked it to some extent, but he was a lone wolf, and the only person who should have control over him was himself. What annoyed him the most was that she wasn't aware she wielded such power.

Genesis smiled as the car pulled out of the court driveway. She had been nervous about everything. she could feel the pounding in her chest ease, letting her breathe normally. Her body relaxed into the car seat as they drove in silence.
She sighed as reality dawned on her and turned her gaze to him. For the first time since they met, she noticed his light skin tone and the serious expression he always had on. Her gaze lingered on his strong jawline, then wandered to his lips. She let out a small, involuntary cough as she recalled the kiss they had shared earlier.
"You're good?" he asked as he turned to her. She froze; those green eyes were staring into hers again. Her body tingled. She nodded in response. Why did he always look at her like that? She wondered as he broke their gaze. She disliked the way it made her body react.
Her eyes widened as they drove through the gates, the paradise that was Vincent's childhood home. The flowers had first caught her attention. She turned to him, "You didn't strike me as a flower lover."
"They are my mother's," his reply was reluctant and cold.
She felt her heart sink. "Ohh," she replied, not knowing what to say. She didn't need to look at him to know he was hurting.
Her body tensed as the car stopped in front of the massive building. A man and woman stood at the door, her heart racing, as she wiped her wet palms on her white fitted dress. She guessed they were Bruce and Grace Vincent had been told about them.
She smiled nervously as they walked towards them, ignoring Vincent's grip on her hand as they drew closer. They didn't know about the arrangement, which made her worried. He had assured her that she could play the role, and she had believed. That faith he built was gradually falling apart. In fact, she hated the unknown; she hated not knowing how things would turn out, she hated the fact that she didn't know how the rest of the day would turn out to be.
"You're going to like them, they are the sweetest people I know," Vincent whispered to her.
She bit her lips as she glanced at him, noticing a faint smile dancing at the corner of his mouth. She rolled her eyes inwardly and said nothing.
"I never thought this day would come, sonny." Bruce pulled Vincent in for a hug as they approached. "I'm proud of you." He said, then turned to Genesis, beaming joyfully, "Welcome to your new home, Mrs. Morales." He greeted, placing a chaste kiss on both her cheeks. "I see why you kept her a secret. She's beautiful." He added.
She felt Vincent's hands snake through her waist as he pulled her closer to him. "I get drunk on her a lot." He said, making her blush. She liked Bruce. She decided on the spot.
Her gaze shifted to the woman, "You must be Grace," she said. The woman smiled as she stepped forward and hugged her. "I finally get to meet the woman who stole his heart," Grace replied. the hug was quick and cold. "You're welcome, Mrs. Morales." She added.
Genesis murmured her thanks; there was something about what Grace had said that sounded like a warning. She didn't think much of it; she was probably having a bad day. She thought.
"Let's go fresh up, Queenie, i made plans for tonight," Vincent informed her as he led her into the house.
She frowned as she followed him, "You didn't tell me you had other plans for today." There was a hint of irritation in her voice.
He said nothing as they took the stairs to the bedroom. His silence annoyed her, yet she followed. They were to share a room so as not to raise suspicions. She suspected he didn't have confidence in the people around him. She felt a stab in her chest. He didn't trust her.
