Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 -The Kiss and the Lie

All eyes were on us. I tried to calm Antony down, but his gaze burned with fury.

His cousin placed a hand on his shoulder, and in a flash Antony shoved me aside and grabbed him, twisting his arm with brutal force.

"You need to know your place," Antony growled.

His cousin chuckled, unfazed. "Too bad she doesn't know how many girls you're actually seeing. Why don't you let me keep her company, while you run back to your… 'friends'?"

"Stop spouting nonsense," Antony snapped, his voice low and dangerous. "Or I swear you'll remember this night forever."

I froze, shocked by those words.

What did his cousin mean? Was there truth hidden behind his taunts?

Grabbing Antony's arm, I whispered urgently, "Enough. Please, stop. Everyone's staring—just take me home."

He met my eyes, something unreadable flickering in them, then seized my hand and led me out of the house.

The entire room watched in silence as we left.

Just before the door closed behind me, his cousin's voice cut through the tension, mocking and sharp:

"You'll see… it won't be long before you discover his true face."

A chill ran down my spine. I didn't fully understand, but doubt had already taken root inside me.

We climbed into the car. The silence was suffocating, and for the first time, I felt… afraid.

Then, his phone buzzed. A message. From a girl.

He didn't say a word, but curiosity clawed at me. I finally asked, "Who is she?"

His reply was calm, almost too calm. "Just a friend."

But deep inside, I knew it wasn't the truth.
