Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: A Heartbreaking Departure

After listening to Peter's request, Rika's face crumpled in anguish. She turned and ran out of the

house, her heart shattered into a million pieces. She couldn't bear the thought of leaving Peter,

but she knew she had to respect his wishes.

As she ran back to her own house, tears streamed down her face, her body wracked with sobs.

She felt like she was losing the person she loved most in the world.

The next day, Liya arrived at Peter's house, bearing a basket of fresh fruits and healthy food.

She had hoped to show Peter that she cared, that she wanted him to be healthy for the

upcoming operation.

But Peter was having none of it. As soon as Liya entered, he swept the basket off the table,

sending the food scattering across the floor.

Liya's eyes widened in shock. "What are you doing, Peter? I brought those for you. You need to

be healthy for the operation."

Peter's laughter was bitter, his eyes flashing with anger. "Oh, now you care about me? Now you

want to make sure I'm healthy? After 16 years of neglect, you think a few healthy meals will

make a difference?"

Liya's face paled, her eyes dropping in shame. Peter's words cut deep, exposing the guilt and

regret she had tried to keep hidden.

"So, leave, Mother," Peter spat, his voice venomous. "I'll give my heart to your precious

daughter. Don't worry, I'll make sure to be healthy enough for the operation. But don't pretend

like you care about me. You never have, and you never will."

Liya's eyes welled up with tears as she backed away, her face etched with sorrow. She knew

that Peter's words were true, and the weight of her guilt was crushing her.

*A Heart-Shattering Revelation*

A month had passed since the fateful day, and the operation had been carried out. Liya's

daughter was now in a healthy condition, and Liya was overjoyed. But John's expression told a

different story; his eyes were haunted by the weight of his guilt.

Rika, meanwhile, had gone to the hospital to inquire about Peter's whereabouts. Liya, with a

mixture of guilt and indifference, handed Rika an address, telling her that it was where Peter's

body had been taken.

John, sensing Rika's distress, offered to take her to the address. As they arrived at the old

factory, John explained that it was an illegal operation, and that's why they had kept Peter's

body there.

Rika's eyes widened in horror as she gazed upon Peter's lifeless body. Her face contorted in

anguish, she spat out the words, "So you took what you wanted and threw him away like trash?"

John's eyes dropped in shame, his voice barely above a whisper. "I have no right to ask for

forgiveness, but I am really sorry."

Together, John and Rika buried Peter in a nearby cemetery. As Rika stood before Peter's grave,

her body racked with sobs, she cried out in despair, "They don't deserve you! They threw you

out like trash! They don't even feel guilty! No one deserves you! I am the only one who deserves

you! You were supposed to be with me! We were supposed to be together! It isn't fair, God!"

Her screams echoed through the cemetery, a heartbreaking expression of her grief. John, who

had been standing by, stepped forward, his eyes filled with tears.

"Peter knew you would say words like that," John said, his voice cracking. "So he gave me this

to give to you when you said words like that."

John handed Rika a letter, Peter's last message to her. As Rika took the letter, John turned and

walked away, leaving Rika alone with her grief and the words of the man she loved.

*A Bittersweet Goodbye*

Rika's hands trembled as she opened the letter, her heart heavy with grief. As she began to

read, tears streamed down her face, her body shaking with sobs.

The letter was Peter's farewell, his last words to the only person who had truly loved him.

"I'm sorry, Rika," the letter read. "I didn't want things to end up like this. But fate has other plans

for me."

Rika's eyes welled up with tears as she read on, Peter's words piercing her heart.

"I know you're the only one who will cry in front of my grave," the letter continued. "I know you'll

say things like, 'You're the only one who deserves me.' But I don't deserve you. You deserve a

better person."

Rika's sobs grew louder as she read the next words, Peter's selfless wish for her happiness.

"So you have to move on," the letter said. "Be happy, marry someone, have children, and grow

old. And then come to the other side. I'll be waiting for you there."

Rika's heart shattered into a million pieces as she read the final words, Peter's promise to wait

for her.

"Then you can tell me all the stories you've experienced, okay?" the letter read. "Sorry for

nothing. Goodbye."

As Rika finished reading the letter, she felt a sense of numbness wash over her. She stood

there, frozen in grief, the letter clutched in her hand, Peter's words etched in her heart forever.

*A Lifetime of Love and Legacy*

Rika's tears fell like rain as she stood there, clutching Peter's letter. She cried for what felt like

an eternity, her heart shattered into a million pieces.

As she finally composed herself, Rika whispered, "Move on? That's never gonna happen. I used

all my love on you. I have nothing left for another one."

Though Peter was gone, Rika knew she had to keep his memory alive. She decided to establish

a foundation for orphaned kids, a place where they could find love, care, and protection.

Rika poured her heart and soul into the foundation, naming it in Peter's memory. She spent her

days caring for the kids, shielding them from the cruel world that had taken Peter away.

As the years passed, Rika grew old, but her spirit remained strong. She continued to protect

and care for the kids, giving them the love and support she had once given Peter.

Rika's life was a testament to the power of love and sacrifice. She had given her all to Peter,

and though he was gone, his memory lived on through the countless lives she had touched.

At the age of 83, Rika's remarkable journey came to an end. She passed away, surrounded by

the kids she had loved and protected. Though her heart had been broken, Rika had lived a life

of purpose, leaving behind a legacy of love that would endure for generations to come.

*A Heavenly Reunion*

Rika's eyes fluttered open, and she found herself in a cozy wooden house nestled in a

picturesque hill station. The surroundings were breathtakingly beautiful, with vibrant flowers and

lush trees as far as the eye could see.

Rika's mind was foggy, and she wondered where she was and how she got there. But before

she could gather her thoughts, she heard a familiar voice calling out to her.

"Rika, you finally woke up," Peter's voice said, warm and gentle. "Okay, I'm making breakfast,

and it's ready. Come on, get up and get freshened up."

Rika's heart skipped a beat as she heard Peter's voice. She quickly threw off the covers and ran

towards the sound of his voice. As she turned the corner, she saw Peter standing in the kitchen,

a warm smile on his face.

Rika's eyes welled up with tears as she flung herself into Peter's arms. She hugged him tightly,

sobbing with joy.

Peter laughed and held her close, his eyes shining with happiness. "This is the other side," he

whispered. "We can be together here forever."

As they held each other, their faces broke into wide smiles. They knew that they had finally

found their happily ever after, free from the pain and sorrow of the world they left behind.

And so, Rika and Peter lived on, surrounded by beauty and love, their hearts filled with joy and

gratitude for a second chance at forever.
