Chapter 4 - Ch 4

Political backlash was immense.

This was after all: "U.A.'s biggest failure."

Apparently, Mr. Vlad King called emergency services, and 15 minutes after the villains left, Ambulances, Fire trucks, and any other personnel arrived.

Of the forty students, 15 were unconscious and in serious condition due to exposure to Mustard's gas, and eleven others had minor or major injuries.

Thirteen uninjured.

Lastly, one student, Sport Festival Winner, Katsuki Bakugo, was missing.

Of the six pro heroes, one, Pixie-Bob, was left in serious condition after receiving a hard blow to the head, and another one, Ragdoll, went missing and lost a lot of blood.

Captured Villains: Muscular, Mustard, and Moonfish.

As I felt my consciousness fading, I felt like trash, though soon I will encounter a certain someone.

In Izuku's mind, while he is unconscious,

"Ugh, Damn, I really gave my all, and for what? Just to fail? Shit. I think Izuku is lucky to forget this incident."

"But you aren't the old Izuku, are you?"

I turned my head so fast, I thought I'd get whiplash as I laid my eyes on... Izuku?

"Hey, you're the new me? You look cool."

"So, you are... the old Izuku?"

At the other's nod, my look goes from curious to guilt-ridden in a millisecond, "Sorry, man. I had no choice in this."

"Don't worry, I was mad, but now, I saw how hard you are trying to do what I'd want to do, and you succeeded where I'd surely fail, so I entrust them to you because I know... You can be a Hero!"

As original Izuku concluded, his form began to flicker, going more translucent by the word, as he gave me the green light, taking my guilt away. He vanished, and I woke up with a gasp.

"Holy crap, what a dream."

Luckily, no doctor or anybody was there, so I was left alone to ponder for a bit. Momo installed the tracker, so we can do as we did in canon, but this means Allmight will become Smallmight forever, which is bad, but I can also use it to my advantage. My current objective would be to gain 100% mastery, an impossible task to complete in a short timeframe, so I will simply do my best and use whatever level I reach to assist Allmight in his battle.

Mind made up, I felt soreness kick in, so I took a little nap.

"The next day (Still Summer Vacation)"

A huge commotion was heard near the entrance gate of U.A. High School, as news reporters of many channels tried their best to get a statement from the School, this is after all what the country labeled as "U.A.'s greatest failure".

"Will you open your gates?"

"I'm from Yomiuri TV. Is there an official statement from U.A. High?"

"How do you plan on dealing with the families of the victims?"

As these people kept yelling, a discussion was taking place in the Meeting Room.

"To be attacked during a training camp meant to prepare students to fight villains..."

"Honestly, we should be embarrassed by the irony."

"We feared the revitalization of villains, but we were naive to think we understood it at all."

"They already started their war--"

"Their war to destroy hero society."

Principal Nezu spoke solemnly.

Midnight then raised a good point, because even if they understood this revitalization of crime and villainy, would they really have been able to stop it from happening or defend against it?

Present Mic brought it all to a point and said the thing they all had been thinking, "We've gotten soft, complacent. Peace has made us so. We thought we had the time to prep properly, and then bam, left hook, round one goes to the League."

Allmight, who sat at the table in his small form, grumbled to himself about how he was angry at his cowardice, citing the fact that while kids were fighting, he sat relaxing in a hot tub.

Another Hero, Snipe, mentioned how having the Sports festival right after an attack was terrible and not the optimal choice to have picked. Then he finished it with a statement that was pure truth,

"They have stolen the trust people had in us heroes, along with Bakugo."

But Nezu seems to have something to add to that,

"All the news outlets are filled with criticism of U.A. right now. If they were trying to get Bakugo, then it was probably because his violent side was made common knowledge at the sports festival. If he is won over by the villains, then it's over for U.A. as an educational institution."

Mic raised a point about a traitor being among them and needing to weed them out, but since he had no clear proof or a suspect except the people who knew of the training camp, which are about 40 students, the teachers and the pussycats, too large to investigate, so it was not really dropped but put on a backburner.

As they discussed a plan of action, Allmight got a call, informing him of a lead on the potential location of the League of Villains. Excitement overflowing, he assumed his buff form again and said to his caller: "I am here... for the Counterattack."

News of U.A.'s biggest failure and the absence of an official U.A. statement made it so the public distrust of U.A. reached an All-time high, which the L.O.V. used to try and manipulate/taunt Bakugo even more, but he just sat there. He had other things to think about after all.

The next day, I woke up rejuvenated and ready for more.

Denki saw, and so almost all of my classmates ran in, filling the room in seconds. Mineta even brought a Melon, 'that little perv had his uses after all,' I thought to myself as I sat up.

"Hey, you sure you should be moving?"

One concerned, Iida asked.

"It's fine, man. Anyway, I think it's about time we make a little analysis."

"What do you mean, Midoriya?" Tokoyami asked, serious as ever.

"Well, Aizawa and I predicted the Attack and made the best possible countermeasure short of getting Allmight, who was busy by the way. But that doesn't matter, what matters is, what do you take away from your first encounter with trained villains out for blood?"

"Not to be too smug, but I took down most of them, and then I got exhausted, so what I need is greater efficiency, stamina, and of course, to learn to go 100% and not kill myself doing so."

This little self-reflection made their eyes brighten up as they understood and told us what each of us could have done better in order not to have failed here.

Then Kirishima chimed in and sparked a heated debate. Apparently, Momo and Awase managed to track the Villains down using a device she made up on the fly, showing her great potential and decisiveness to be an amazing Hero.

The Question was, go on our own and save him, or let the pros handle it. Original Izuku and current Izuku both knew that most pros don't work like that; they will go slow, methodically, which is good, but not enough. Sometimes, you just have to act quickly, rashly, and powerfully.

Once the day turned to evening, the group consisting of Heroes in training Deku, Creati, Ingenium, Red Riot, and Shoto took the train to Kamino. Once there, they concluded that they needed to swap their outfits and get proper disguises, which was cheap, since they found a cheap store for such occasions.

Izuku opted for a black suit with a white button-up, elegant black slacks, and some fitting shoes that would also be comfortable for combat; he'd need them after all.

Momo went for a nice dress that highlighted her already very developed body, and styled her hair up A pair of glasses and earrings finished the job of making her look older and more mature.

Shoto put on a wig, which covered his facial scar up nicely, making him look like a different person already; a switch of outfit wasn't necessary.

Tenya Iida decided to get a fake mustache and slicked his hair back, a few street style touches, and voila.

Kirishima let his hair down and added two horns, finishing his look off with a white shirt and a dark jacket over it with some slacks.

The gang completed step one out of many; now remained, track down, rescue, and hightail it outta there, clearly an easy task (sarcasm).

As they traversed through the bustling streets of Kamino, they occasionally checked the radar to find the League and, subsequently, hopefully, Bakugo with them.

They also saw how the public shat on U.A. for one failure in 27 years of peerless U.A., even though it's seen as the "greatest failure" since many got injured, and one was missing. But honestly, did these civilians actually think that heroes won't stand back up after being pushed down?

Resuming their walk, the Bakugo rescue group halted mere minutes later, as they witnessed Aizawa, Principal Nezu, and Vlad give an official statement and defend themselves from the allegations of the interviewers.

On the big screen, one could see all three teachers in elegant and professional-looking suits, sitting behind a table.

An interviewer spoke up, his tone biting and unforgiving, "You spoke about the students' safety, Eraser Head. During the incident, it appears you urged them to fight. What was your intention behind this?"

As Aizawa stood up to respond, Izuku turned to his classmates and said, "I also predicted that were we to fail, Sensei would have to say something, so we devised just the thing to say to regain the lost trust in U.A.. Just watch and pay attention, guys."

Iida, Shoto, Momo, and Kirishima were stunned and silently turned their heads back to watch this interview, tense and hoping their school's image would be restored, even a little.

Back in U.A.'s conference room, Aizawa stood tall, shoulders broad, projecting the utmost confidence as he spoke his next words with clarity and bravado he didn't know he had,

"It's simple, really. Sadly, we are understaffed, as you probably didn't notice. There was a huge wave of crime that swept through the country, meaning we were spread thin."

"Since I have trust in my students, I allowed them to fight, not only to fight, but to protect themselves. I am sadly not a teleporter or can clone myself, so while I took care of any villain I saw, and protected all the students that are unharmed next to Vlad King, a very powerful student managed to defeat almost all the villains."

"The only reason they managed to escape was in fact due to a coordinated effort of almost all of them ganging up on an already tired and high on adrenaline student. The ten villains in question are:

Kurogiri, the warper

Dabi, Blue Fire emission

Himiko Toga, some quirk involving Blood

Twice, unknown, probably clones

Mr. Compress (the main reason for Katsuki Bakugo's capture) compresses things into blue marbles.

Spinner, Gecko Quirk

Magne, unknown parameter-related magnetism

Muscular, muscle armor quirk

 Moonfish, Bone manipulation

Mustard, Poison Gas Quirk

That said, Compress and Kurogiri were key factors in his capture. Nobody could unseal Bakugo, rendering any critique against Heroes pretty darn useless, because what will your ceaseless bickering help in rescuing the boy? Leave this to the pros. "

This shut the interviewer up, and so Nezu took the chance to speak for himself,

"Well said, Eraserhead. As my colleague already mentioned, there is a rescue going on. Forgive us, but we used you as a decoy for our main objective. Unlucky for the villains, a decision made in the blink of an eye led to us already knowing the whereabouts of the League of Villains, truly amateurish."

"This is why earlier today, we had most of the Top 10 and even a veteran Hero join the police in a Tactical meeting to discuss plans for a complete Takedown of the League."

"I hope this is enough of a statement. Any other questions can be asked on our Homepage. Have a good evening."

They are just like damn hyenas, jumping on any weakness and exploiting it to the fullest, while they completely forget how exposed they are to the danger, and how the Heroes are almost the only wall keeping them safe.

'It pisses me off,' Izuku thought as he suppressed his rage.

 They didn't know better.

Lucky for me, I beat my guilt and got the hopes of two boys on my shoulders; soon it'll be the whole world, and I can do it.

'Just hold on, Boom Btch, we will save you.' Izuku thought as he clenched his fists, resolve growing by the second.

Concluding my train of thought, I look back up, only to see Momo, Iida, Shoto, and Kirishima staring at me like I'm the second coming of Jesus himself, so I reacted like any normal person moved into an Anime world would, "What?"

Eijiro looked at me like it's obvious, "What do you mean 'what?'? THIS WAS SO MANLY!!!"

The others just nodded to what the redhead said, and I just nodded along.

"Oh, yeah, I guess. Anyway, time's wasting, let's save our favorite terrorist. Go go go."

And with that, we snuck into a dark alley and bolted for where the signal on Momo's device led us.
