Chapter 3 - 3

"Take your positions, now!" Martin roared.

The PDF soldiers scrambled into formation at once. A40at was the first to sprint back to a safe position in the rear, while Sergeant Jennifer drew her weapon without hesitation.

A horde of heretics charged forward.

The sensors in Martin's helmet measured the distance, his systems processing calculations at lightning speed to determine the optimal moment to strike.

"Hold," he commanded.

"Why, my lord?" several soldiers asked in unison.

"Hold," he repeated.

Sweat trickled down the faces of the soldiers as they stared at the oncoming tide of frenzied cultists, thousands rushing toward them. Some gripped their weapons so tightly their knuckles turned white; others trembled outright.

"Open fire!"

Then, numerous bullets from the guns rapidly killed the maniacs. Red laser beams swept down into the distance, the air filled with laser beams. One by one, the heretics fell, their chests exploding. They screamed before dying, clawing at the wounds inflicted by the laser gunfire.

Beep! Boom! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Numerous bullets struck his armor, but none of them managed to dent his armor. Not even a single scratch was left.

Some of the heretics charged forward, returning fire with crude, twisted weapons. Bullets whizzed past him and smashed through PDF's cover. Some, unfortunately, were killed by some of the bullets. The screams of the wounded and dying reverberated in his ears.

It was eerily familiar.

Many heretics were being killed quickly, but there were too many. The defenses were beginning to crack and the chaos was becoming more and more pressing. He had to do something.

"There are too many!" someone shouted.

"Keep firing! Don't be afraid. The Emperor's angels are with us," Corporal Jennifer shouted back. Many remained in the fighting, trying to stop the heretics. Every time they pulled the trigger, the heretics were blasted in the head or chest by a red laser beam. They let out a shriek of pain. It wasn't enough.

"Attach the bayonets!" Jennifer shouted over the sounds of the battle, aiming her gun at the officers with a deadly weapon.

The heretic army was only a few yards away. They were roaring madly. They held vicious swords and guns, all covered in hideous trophies like skins, heads, hands, entrails, and other unpleasant things.

"For the Emperor!!!!!"

Aaaa ... He activated a large chain sword and a chain eax.

To his shock, the Corn God worshippers were completely unafraid of him as he used his chain sword to carry out the massacre, supported by the PDF troops.

Martin charged toward the crowd of heretics. He swung his sword at one of the heretics' faces, ripping his face and head to shreds with the small blades. Beneath his helmet, Martin was grinning with delight.

Another heretic approached him, his sword raised. Martin struck Martin in the midsection, slicing his body in half. The impact sent his upper body flying several meters, disappearing into the endless stream of heretics.

Martin elbowed one of the heretics in the face, using his power pixeax to slash his back, causing his head to explode, spraying blood and brain matter onto the others behind him.

"Blood for the blood god!" Skull for skull throne!" Martin raised his right arm and fired volkite at the charging heretics.

The heretics collapsed, the right half of his body scattered across the grass, his heart and ribs evaporating.

Martin was surrounded by heretics, many attempting to attack from various directions, but none could hurt him. Martin circled with his sword and chain sword, killing several heretics with each attack.

He swung his chain eax again, killing several heretics again. One heretic fell to the ground and was accidentally stepped on by Martin.

Weighing nearly 1.3 tons, the heretic's ribs, spine, and flesh were instantly crushed into shreds.

Martin hurried through the heretics back to the defenses at Gate 3. He caught sight of Jennifer and the PDF fighting with a ferocity comparable to the heretics.

With just a few seconds of watching, Martin knew that Jennifer was exhausted to the limit. Her body was now covered in blood, her last pistol hummed and smoked as it shot at the heretic. Red photon beams melted the crude armor and blasted the heretic's face and flesh. Jennifer lunged forward, ready to swing her chain sword, letting out a high-pitched roar as the adamantium blade tore through the heretic's flesh, softening as the heretic was split in half.

One of the heretics raised an axe, ready to strike the corporal's face. Martin threw the axe at the heretic, sending him flying several meters. Martin then turned and slammed his hand into the chest of the other heretic, sending him flying several meters.

Martin could clearly hear the crunch of his spine and ribs.

"No!" Jennifer cried out in despair as she tried to block the attack from the tall heretic, clad in flayed skin.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!" it shouted, trying to crush Jennifer with its massive fist. Martin lunged forward and grabbed the heretic's head with one hand, lifting it up.

He gradually increased his strength as the heretic struggled desperately, until it went still with its head crushed.

Martin reached for the corporal, who was in poor condition, and pulled her to her feet. Jennifer was nearly attacked by another heretic. She fired two laser blasts into its knees. It fell and screamed in pain. Jennifer let it suffer as she gasped for air.

"Thank you, sir," Jennifer hissed as she changed the magazine of her last pistol.

"It's fine," Martin replied. He then silenced the wailing of the heretic with his armored boots.

"I've never seen a space marine fight before."

"Many are better fighters than I am," Martin said, his heart swelling with pride and a hint of sadness. Most of the people he once knew were dead.

One of the heretics had already reached the top and slammed its back against his knee, breaking its spine and bending it into a V-shape before he threw the badly injured body aside.

Suddenly, Jennifer collapsed. The heretic struck her in the back with a long baton, knocking her unconscious. He punched the heretic in the chest. Martin didn't hesitate, cutting it in half with his chain sword.

"Enough," a deep, raspy voice said. The heretics retreated from Martin and the few remaining PDFs, hissing and spitting. Martin turned, ready to fight again.

Martin began to realize that the ground around him was changing. Corpses piled up to a medium-sized hill, blood pooling in knee-high puddles, the sky red, and the Hive City was emitting large plumes of smoke.

Khorn, the berserker, emerged from Gate 3. His armor was stained with blood and dirt. It was a deep red and decorated with matte bronze. His face was hidden behind a horned helmet.

"It's mine." Every step he took shook the ground, and every step brought mud and blood to the surface as he moved forward. He readied his large axe.

"Khorn, bear witness to my fight." Blood streamed down his armor, soaking his joints and running down his thick plates, and Martin felt the rage of thousands of years.

Rachel's head was impaled on the hideous spikes on his power pack.

Even though Martin didn't know her personally, But she was one of his benefactors. She shouldn't have ended up like this.

"May you suffer in the VAR forever!" Martin cursed before running at the Khorn Berserker, dropping his chain sword.

Martin launched an attack with speed that most Space Marines couldn't keep up with. He punched the Khorn Berserker in the face.

With a single powerful punch, the armor was dented horribly, but it couldn't be penetrated. Martin was countered with an uppercut to the chin. The Khorn Berserker's force lifted him a meter off the ground. Martin hadn't experienced such pain and excitement in thousands of years.

Martin dodged the chain eax and countered with an uppercut. His punch shattered the front of the Khorn Berserker's helmet, revealing its face.

Its face bore ritual scars and its eyes were unnaturally bloodshot. It spat out sharp teeth. He was used to seeing it.

"Hahaha, Khorn will be pleased with your skull," it said happily.

Its axe swung around, its engine roaring with uncontrollable bloodlust.

"The fun's over," Martin said playfully. He had to hurry, or everyone would die.

Martin lunged at it, punching the axe-wielding hand. He bent down and punched its target with all his might before lifting the Khorn Berserker off the ground and slamming it into his knee, instantly rendering it incapacitated. With the leader of the heretics dead, they slowly disappeared from the doorway.

Martin stood up, panting, his armor damaged in several places. He looked at Corporal Jennifer, who was under the care of the remaining PDF, and he felt the Khorn Berserker trying to say something.

"Coward—" Martin didn't let him finish. He walked over, grabbed Rachel's chain sword, stabbed it into its stomach, and slowly accelerated, killing it.

Suddenly, Martin felt something strange. He looked up at the sky with worry and panic.

Cadea had fall

Warp energy was moving across the sky, engulfing thousands of stars in its path with a terrifying red light. This star was one of the stars affected.

A large, multicolored rift appeared in the sky, emitting terrifying rays and incessant whispers.

But he wasn't afraid. He knew what to do next. Many immediately closed their eyes, some banging their heads as if trying in vain to erase the horrifying image. Martin shouted at the top of his lungs to stop looking at the sky and focus on the enemy ahead.

"Don't look at the sky. Be careful! Something bad is coming!" Martin tried to maintain the inevitability of order and discipline.

Suddenly, Martin and many others there saw shadows on the ground, including their own, moving, changing shape, and distorting into terrifying and distorted forms. Some of these shapes completely defy logic and consciousness.

Then, shadows began to emerge inexplicably from the ground, transforming from two-dimensional shadows into three-dimensional bodies, adding mass, texture, and color.

Soon, hordes of nightmarish monsters and terrifying demons appeared across the corpse-strewn battlefield. They came in all shapes and forms, each equally evil and repulsive, if not more so.

Floating masses of flesh protruded from them, each limb distinct in appearance. One appeared to resemble a goat's leg, while the other had useless, feathery wings. Multiple eyes, each with teeth resembling eyelashes,

Slippery, struggling tentacles, each slitheringEnding at the mouth.

Those who tried to assume human form, unable to understand the workings of the body, coalesced into terrifying masses, creatures with too many parts but not enough bones.

Countless chaos spawns suddenly appeared on the land of Motis, and soon followed by even more dangerous and vicious enemies, who carried out the will of one of the gods ruling the Immateriem.

Bloodletter slowly emerged from the large pool of blood nearby.

While the PDF was terrified,

Martin picked up Jennifer and A40AT, who were repairing the door, and did the smartest thing.

He ran for his life into the hive city.
