Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 – The Book’s Discovery

It was a quiet Saturday afternoon when Ren and his friends decided to visit the old library in the outskirts of the city. The building was massive, filled with rows of ancient books, dusty shelves, and forgotten corners. Few people ever came here, which made it perfect for a group of curious teenagers looking for adventure.

Ren walked slowly between the tall shelves, his fingers brushing lightly over the spines of the books. He loved the smell of old pages, the sense that every book carried a story waiting to be uncovered. Hana walked beside him, her eyes scanning titles that seemed unreadable, filled with strange symbols.

Daichi and Yuto were further down the aisle, whispering excitedly about some old science manuals they had found. "Imagine if we actually discover something no one else has ever seen," Yuto said, his hands shaking as he flipped through yellowed pages.

Ren's mind wandered to his father's research. His father had spent years trying to prove another world existed, yet he had failed. Ren had always wondered if his father was chasing a dream too large for anyone to catch. Now, walking through this quiet library, Ren felt a strange pull, as if the building itself wanted him to find something.

At the far end of the library, Ren noticed a shelf tucked behind a pillar, almost hidden from view. The books there looked older, more fragile, and one of them caught his eye. It was bound in dark leather, with intricate golden symbols etched across its cover. The moment he touched it, a faint warmth spread through his fingers, unlike anything he had ever felt.

"Ren, check this out," Daichi called, waving him over. Ren ignored him for a moment, drawn instead to the book on the hidden shelf. He carefully pulled it free. Dust rose in the air, and the golden symbols seemed to shimmer slightly in the sunlight coming through the tall windows.

Hana stepped closer, her eyes widening. "It looks ancient," she said. "Do you think it's a magic book?"

Ren laughed softly, though he felt a strange excitement inside. "Magic? Probably just old spells or stories. But something about it feels… different."

Yuto came over, adjusting his glasses. "Let me see that." He examined the book carefully. "The symbols aren't just decoration. They look like instructions, formulas maybe, but not science formulas. Something else."

Ren opened the book slowly. The pages were filled with writing in a language he did not recognize, along with diagrams of circles, stars, and lines connecting strange symbols. One page showed what looked like a portal, a circular gateway glowing with light, with a figure stepping through.

"That looks like a doorway to another world," Hana whispered.

Ren's heart skipped a beat. His father had spent years searching for proof of another Earth. Could this book be connected? The thought made him both excited and cautious.

As he flipped further, he found a passage in a language he could understand. Strange, because he had never studied this script. It spoke of worlds parallel to our own, people living different lives in the same time, and a way to open a gate to them.

"Guys… I think this is what my father has been looking for," Ren said quietly.

Daichi laughed nervously. "You mean this is a real magic book? That stuff doesn't exist, right?"

Ren did not answer. He felt a mix of disbelief and certainty. The energy coming from the book was real, faint but undeniable. He closed the book for a moment, holding it tightly.

"Should we take it home?" Yuto asked.

Ren nodded. "Yes, but carefully. This is not just any book. We need to understand it first."

The group left the library, each carrying a sense of excitement and nervousness. Ren clutched the book to his chest, feeling as if it had been waiting for him all this time. He did not know what would come next, but he knew one thing: life as he knew it was about to change forever.
