"What—you're a Sword Emperor?!" Victor exclaimed as he looked at Senior Julian. He hadn't expected him to be a Sword Emperor at all, but what Camelia said next shocked him even more.
"Victor, not only is he a Sword Emperor, but he's also halfway through becoming a Sword God," Camelia said calmly as she eyed Julian.
'How do you know this?' Victor asked Camelia curiously while keeping his gaze on them.
"There were many Sword Emperors in the past, and I even fought a few. They were no weaker than top Rankers with mage bloodlines. His talent rivals those prodigies from the Faction Wars—the era known as the Cradle of Geniuses. Of course, even during that time, no one managed to become a Sword God. The Holy Knight Temple was founded even before the factions and was one of the strongest during the war but only the founder ever became a Sword God, the Holy Knight Temple was one of the few that remained unscathed due to their overwhelming power and numbers during that era," Camelia explained calmly, revealing another piece of history to Victor.
"I can see you have talent rivaling the founder of the Holy Knight Temple. If you join us, I will take you as my personal student and teach you the swordsmanship you lack, along with many other techniques. And if you prove yourself, you could even become the next leader after me," Senior Julian said with a smile, while Camelia looked at Victor with a frown.
'Is his sword talent really that high?' Camelia thought as she looked Victor up and down, but she couldn't sense anything. She was far more of a powerful mage than a knight and didn't have Senior Julian's ability to detect sword talent, so she did not think too much.
On the other hand, both Leon and Sarah were dumbfounded after hearing Julian's words and looked at Victor in disbelief.
'He wants to make Victor his successor… If others find out, it would cause a massive commotion—no less than when a faction leader or a legend dies,' Sarah thought as she swallowed hard, glancing at Victor.
Victor hesitated for a moment before looking at Sarah. Julian seemed to understand his dilemma and replied,
"After joining the Holy Knight Temple, you can still join the Illuminated Rankers, if that's what you're worried about," Julian said. He had mentioned this earlier, but repeated it, thinking Victor hadn't properly heard him before.
"Yes, Senior Julian is right. In fact, many of our own members who possess Knight Bloodlines are also part of the Holy Knight Temple," Sarah explained.
"Then I'll join both," Victor said after thinking for a while.
"Great," Sarah said as she brought out a glowing golden cylinder.
"This is the faction stamp used to mark our members for identification. Which part do you want me to stamp it on?" Sarah asked, which caused Victor to raise an eyebrow.
'Hey, Camelia, this isn't some kind of slave mark, right? Like, they won't be able to kill me with a thought or track me everywhere?' Victor asked Camelia cautiously, he had read a quite of few novels in his other life before everyone gained powers like from novels and movies.
"You sure have a wild imagination, don't you? Huh. No, that's a normal faction stamp. I also had one when I was part of the faction. Unless the faction dies, you die, or you leave the faction which most don't in their lifetime due to overwhelming advantages they get from a faction, it will stay on your body," Camelia said with a roll of her eyes, causing Victor to sigh.
"Here," Victor held out his arm.
Pop.
"Great," Sarah said as she placed the stamp on his arm. With a pop, she removed it, leaving a small glowing golden pair of angel wings on his forearm, which vanished within a blink of an eye.
"Huh, it's gone," Victor said, raising an eyebrow seeing the symbol had vanished before he could see it closely.
"Now, to make it reappear, touch your forearm and think about it," Sarah instructed. Victor did as she said.
Victor touched the spot where the symbol had been and focused his thoughts.
Swoosh.
A small hologram of two golden wings appeared in front of them, with "Knight" written above it.
"What does this title 'Knight' mean?" Victor asked curiously, looking at Sarah.
"This shows the current rank you hold. When you join the faction, you are assigned a ranking. The faction uses noble titles for rankings, and even the lowest of these titles holds greater value compared to noble titles on the lower floors. Since I recruited you, you are automatically a Knight instead of a regular soldier," Sarah explained, and Victor nodded as she continued.
"Leon over here holds the title of Marquis," Sarah said as she pointed at Leon, who summoned his symbol. A shining golden wings hologram appeared, displaying the title "Marquis."
"You can increase your title by completing missions from the headquarters or branches of the Illuminated Rankers across the entire tower, the higher the ranking you have the more resources you will get and greater your influence in the faction" Sarah explained, then looked at Victor.
"I see," Victor nodded with a calm expression on his face.
"Oh, one other thing—you can also contact me directly using the symbol, since I gave it to you," Sarah explained. Victor then looked at Julian.
"Now my turn. I was getting impatient already," Julian said as he walked forward. He slowly brought a stamp and pressed it onto Victor's arm again, but this time it glowed like golden swords as the symbol and title ' Sword Saint ' was floating above the Sword.
" Congratulations, for joining our factions" Julian said with a smile.
