Chapter 6 - Yun Che’s Selection

Yun Che's Selection

In his first life, Yun Che had been selected.

He had his mother, his younger sister, and his fiancée. His father had died when he was fifteen, leaving him responsible for the household and for caring for his ten-year-old sister. Now, at twenty-five, the Divine Domain had finally arrived on Earth.

At 12:50, he looked at the clock, and the notification appeared.

After the global announcement, the selection began.

Yun Che already knew how it worked, because he remembered his first life. The Divine Domain wasn't like the games where players pick a career and are handed skills and weapons on a silver platter.

No.

The Domain rewarded fairly. Anything a new race did for the first time was rewarded, and there were three chances for these trivial rewards — but this secret was still unknown to everyone.

When the talent roulette appeared before him, Yun Che didn't care much. He already knew he would receive an F-level talent.

The roulette spun.

And as expected, it landed on Talent F – Defense +1%.

He sighed but stayed composed.

Then, suddenly, the notification changed.

[Error Detected!]

Talent Granted: Injury Resistance +10,000%

Yun Che (Common)

Talent: (SSS) Anti-Injury 10,000%

Yun Che was in shock. His mind went blank. His body trembled. Soon after, a laugh escaped his throat, mingled with tears.

Hahahahahahahahah!

It was as if the universe had given him a second life, a second destiny.

When he left the talent selection space, he found people completely lost. The first time everyone had been pulled into that reality was sheer chaos. Screams, crying, confusion. Some were proud of the powerful talents they had obtained.

But Yun Che remained calm.

His talent made him unbreakable.

Without hesitation, he ran to the System Shop. Among thousands of options, he grabbed a simple shield as a weapon. Clutching it tightly, he headed out of the starting zone.

Some still stared at him, shocked by his urgency. Few managed to shake off the initial stupor of the teleportation. But he did not hesitate.

As soon as he passed through the gate, a global notification sounded.

[Congratulations! You are the first human to leave the Safe Zone.]

Reward: Common Treasure Chest.

Title Obtained: The Risk-Taker.

Yun Che widened his eyes.

A title?

This was far more than he had expected.

The system's voice echoed once more.

Title: The Risk-Taker

Effect: +10 points to all attributes.

Do you want your name announced to the world?

Yes | No

A firm no. He didn't want fame, prestige, or unnecessary attention. What he had was enough.

He glanced at the floating attribute panel before him and was satisfied with the increase. He closed the tab and ran into the forest, where the light barely pierced the treetops. The ground was covered in damp leaves and twisted roots, and the air reeked of danger.

He moved through the starting zone until he spotted a small group of rabbits. Strangely, they weren't normal — their eyes glowed red, claws sharp as blades, teeth stained with dried blood.

Wild Rabbit (Common)

Level: 1

Power: 40

Mana: 30

Strength: 4

Physique: 6

Intelligence: 3

Agility: 16

Talent: (C) Super Speed

Increases agility by 200%

He approached one and stopped, staring it down. The animal did not retreat.

On the contrary.

The rabbit's eyes glowed even redder, and it leapt toward him.

— Tsk… — he raised his shield.

Clang!

The impact sounded sharp. The rabbit's force slammed against the shield but was repelled. At the same time, a red number appeared above the animal's head:

-700

The system was calculating. That meant the rabbit's attack equaled 7 points of damage. To him, it was insignificant. The fragile body of the rabbit was crushed against his defense and fell dead.

A system announcement rang loudly in his mind, accompanied by a golden aura that spread across the entire Divine Domain:

[Global Announcement]

Congratulations! You are the first human on Earth to kill a creature within the Divine Domain.

This feat will be remembered for eternity!

Reward: Bronze Treasure Chest.

Reputation +10

Title Obtained: First Death.

Title Effect: +20 to all attributes.

One last window appeared before him:

Would you like to announce your name to the world?

He took a deep breath, thought for a moment, and whispered a single word:

— No!

He opened the first chest, revealing a common-quality sword and a dense tunic, offering an additional +2 protection. Without hesitation, he opened the System Shop, put the sword up for sale, and waited for the first sale reward notification — something rumored to be as valuable as the First Death reward.

Suddenly, the mechanical voice echoed:

"Congratulations, Nameless Sword, for being the first being on Earth to trade an item.

Your reward: Bronze Treasure Chest.

Global Free Trade Channel unlocked."

He froze.

— Nameless… Sword?

He thought he had misheard. But no, the notification was right before his eyes: Nameless Sword.

His hands trembled. He remembered the previous terror, the strangeness that surrounded him, and for a moment, fear took hold. But he soon drew a deep breath.

Now… now it was different.

Now he had power.

Now he had the power to resist and make a name for himself.

— Nameless Sword… — he muttered, a nervous half-smile on his face.

His goal hadn't changed, but it had become more urgent: he needed skill books. Books he could bring back to the real world and give to his family.

Because to enter the Divine Domain, one had to possess at least one skill. Those without talent would fall behind.

This detail would only be discovered by most much later, right after the first invasion.

But he… he already knew.
