Chapter 1 - The Rooftop Scene

[Scotland is the running dog of Japanese Public Security. All members must hunt him down at all costs, until he dies.]

Kurokawa Saki was looking at the message on her phone in front of her in silence. She had just entered the game and it was directly at the explosive scene.

This…

Should she do something?

Kurokawa Saki felt troubled and after thinking for a moment, she took her sniper rifle and then looked at the location shown in the laptop.

She better hurry because the other two people should be nearby.

As for appearing in front of those undercover agents?

Sorry, Kurokawa Saki didn't want to die.

"Is it my luck for him to be nearby?" Kurokawa Saki was inside a building, ready for her first mission since entering this world.

Though, for her character, this is her second mission since she's a newcomer in the Winery.

*cough*

In the Black Organization.

The first mission was the introduction mission that allowed her to join…er well, to be invited.

Her skill set is sniping, basic hacking, anti tracking plus tracking, acting, and observation.

Every player could pick 5 skills and then set their degree of excellency. For her, she set observations at the very top in order to make sure she wouldn't miss any clues in this dangerous world, followed by sniping, anti tracking plus tracking, acting, and finally hacking.

Well, they could get some points through completing the mission, but it seemed the panel hadn't appeared yet.

In addition, they could pick one special skill or talent before entering the game.

Kurokawa Saki had just finished her character creation when she was thrown here.

And it was only after coming here did Kurokawa Saki remember something bad.

Her fighting skills…

She's a paper in this dangerous Conan's world.

Ahhhhh!

Stupid Saki!

Thinking about surviving in this world without a proper skillset, Saki felt that her future would be bleak.

Well…

Forget it, she better do something about this mission first.

Her hand took the sniper rifle from behind her and set it up beside the window. In her real world, she was an ordinary person.

She went to school, graduated, failed in her job seeking and ended up becoming a small time author, barely able to eat enough.

Her daily meal is instant noodles and her hobby is to read novels, especially fanfics.

Because the real story by the author is often very heavy and Kurokawa Saki didn't want to cry when life is already so difficult.

Who would have thought that she would die and then be thrown into this parallel world…well, game?

"Hmm, they're there."

Kurokawa Saki crouched beside the window and aimed her sniper rifle towards the two people in the distance.

Her heart trembled when she thought about what she had to do.

What if she missed?

If she failed, then her ability wouldn't be able to activate and everything would be for naught.

'Calm down, Saki… you can do this.'

Breathing in and out to calm herself down, Kurokawa Saki looked at the people in the distance, her finger resting on the trigger.

Just a little force is all that she needed to use it.

This is her first time using a sniper rifle, but her body felt as if she was used to it.

…should she say as expected of a game?

But this is a life and death game.

A game that will determine whether she could survive or not.

'Take a deep breath'

Kurokawa Saki saw Scotland snatched Rye's gun and backed away.

Even though their appearance was different from what she had seen in the anime, it was still quite similar.

At least, similar to her impression of them.

The next second, Kurokawa Saki pulled the trigger.

Bang!

In the distance, Scotland's body fell down and then the door was banged open.

Bourbon appeared and rushed over towards Scotland's body. She couldn't see their expression here, but she could guess that it would be anything but good.

'Sorry… I'll explain it to you in the future,' Kurokawa Saki muttered to herself.

She glanced at the panel in front of her and her eyes lit up.

There was a smile on her face.

She did it.

Just a few hours before

"Where am I?"

Kurokawa Saki swore that she had just finished writing the messed up script for her next story and fell asleep. She thought that she would just wake up to a normal day, but she inexplicably appeared here.

A dark place where there's nothing, yet she felt as if she could see.

This made Saki confused.

Is she dreaming?

[Welcome to the Death Game Player selection. You have been selected as one of the 12 players to enter a world and complete the mission]

"What? Are you kidding me?" Kurokawa Saki frowned with displeasure.

[I'm afraid not. Please listen carefully because you will have to live the next few years in the game. If you fail your mission, you won't be able to return to your world]

Kurokawa Saki was stunned and then she asked, "You mean, I have passed away in my world?"

[Yes]
