"Old man, can we chat for a bit?" Ye Chen asked tentatively.
The elderly man: "Old as I am, not only are my legs and feet not nimble, my breathing isn't either, can't you see I'm out of breath?"
Ye Chen: "No worries, old man, you rest up, we'll chat later."
Saying this, Ye Chen, familiar as ever, sat down on the ground.
Just like the old man.
"I've got some elixirs to strengthen the foundation and fortify vitality, want a few?"
The old man glanced at Ye Chen.
Ye Chen: "It's fine, if you don't want to talk, you don't have to mind me."
A moment passed.
Ye Chen added: "Old man, are you thirsty? I can get you some water. If you don't want water, I can fetch you any jade dew you might want. I'm someone with no other skills but to respect my elders, so don't hesitate to tell me what you need."
The old man glanced at Ye Chen again.
Ye Chen: "It's okay if you don't feel like talking, I understand!"
The old man: "Thirsty."
