Chapter 14 - Ch.14

This was the first time Luo Cheng had seen Cafe take the initiative to kiss him. A beautiful blush appeared on her fair face.

"Trainer, I've been with ghosts since I was little. No one knows what the world looks like through my eyes. When I talk to a ghost, others might think I'm just a weirdo talking to myself. It's the same for you. Your world is different from others. You can see things we can't, and you understand things we can't. It's possible this will last a lifetime, but no matter what, I hope you can live the way you want to."

The way I want to? What is that? ...As a player, to beat this game? Luo Cheng thought of the Trainer's Manual, which recorded many of the horse girls' races. If he could successfully raise all the characters in the manual, would he be able to beat the game? Luo Cheng yearned for communication. He had given up on himself more than once. The loneliness of a hundred days had left him physically and mentally exhausted. This was no way for a person to live. If this continued, what he did to the horse girls would be more than just treating them as living pillows; he might even abandon his last bit of humanity. He liked the horse girls, holding one here and playing with another there, but he couldn't bring himself to truly harm them. This was his bottom line.

Luo Cheng wasn't sure how long he could hold on, so as long as there was a chance for change, he wanted to try it. He would raise all the horse girls in the manual. This was the goal Luo Cheng had set for himself. Feeling Cafe's soft legs, Luo Cheng's mood gradually relaxed. Cafe truly had a magical power. Talking to her inexplicably made him feel at peace. Even when she was just listening quietly, it calmed his restless heart. He would save up everything he couldn't say during the day and tell it to Cafe at night. It was like a person stranded on a deserted island carving a piece of wood into a friend to talk to. He didn't need a piece of wood; he could just talk to Cafe. Sometimes, when he was in the middle of a good conversation, he would just sleep outside with Cafe.

"Trainer, you're not alone." Her slender fingers stroked Luo Cheng's furrowed brow. Is Cafe trying to comfort me?

Unfortunately, their time together was devoid of any youthful, budding romance. Their bond was built purely on physical touch to increase affection, and there was no love between them. Who could fall in love with an emotionless doll? If you only looked at her appearance, that wasn't love; it was just lust. Luo Cheng was just lusting after her body. He knew his self-control wasn't that strong. It was a good thing he could even maintain this one bottom line. Any more demands would only make Luo Cheng feel annoyed and add to his mental burden.

Holding Cafe's silky black tail, Luo Cheng breathed in her lovely coffee scent. He lay on her lap and, after an unknown amount of time, fell asleep. The girl stroked his head. The Trainer was very strange. He said he wasn't from this world, that everyone was a doll, and that he was the only living person here. Every night, the Trainer would tell her these things.

Cafe felt that he was a misfit in this world. She couldn't abandon the Trainer, not only because their long time together had made him a part of her life, but also because she was fascinated with this person who shared her unique struggles. Just as Luo Cheng said, he was alone in the world. Sometimes, Cafe also felt like she was the only one who was truly aware. She could see ghosts, touch them, and talk to them. This made her an outcast in everyone's eyes, and they kept their distance from her. This made Cafe feel like she was standing in the gap between two worlds, experiencing both life and death. Because of this, Cafe had more ghost friends than real-life friends.

It was the same for the Trainer. He lived in the gap between two worlds, but his situation was far more unique and complex than what Cafe had experienced. Otherwise, Luo Cheng wouldn't have repeatedly asked, "Cafe, can you hear me?" while talking to her. It was possible that at that moment, the Trainer was in another world, and she had become one of the "dolls" he spoke of.

Thinking of this, Cafe felt a pang of sadness. She understood how terrible loneliness was. It was like when she was talking to a ghost, and the people around her would look at her strangely and say, "Cafe, you're so strange." Even though Cafe didn't care much about what others thought of her, those words were still hurtful. Now, the Trainer was in the same state she was back then. If she was able to endure that period with the help of her ghost friends, then who could the Trainer rely on? No one could understand him except for her. She was the only one who could offer the Trainer salvation.

Cafe lifted the man's body. To a horse girl, lifting an adult who was nearly 1.8 meters tall was like lifting a baby. They could barely feel the weight. With Luo Cheng in her arms, Cafe came to the Trainer's dorm. She knew he had a habit of putting a key on top of the door; she had seen it when she had been here with the Trainer before. Been here before... That was strange. Had she been here before? Cafe's memory was hazy. She had a feeling she had been here, but she couldn't remember.

Back in the room, Cafe placed the Trainer on the bed, letting out a small gasp. She looked at his clothes. It must be uncomfortable to sleep in clothes. The Trainer was so tired; she should make him more comfortable. Thinking this, Cafe propped the man's body up and took off Luo Cheng's shirt, then his pants. Her fingers brushed against his powerful thighs. Looking at the man's well-developed body, Cafe couldn't help but swallow. No matter how much a human trained, they couldn't compare to a horse girl. The advantages of their species could not be surpassed by effort, but the man's contoured body still made the girl's heart flutter. Especially when Cafe touched him, the man showed another side of himself. It was quite astonishing. No, I can't look anymore!

Her heart pounded, and her head felt a little foggy. Cafe quickly covered Luo Cheng with the comforter, turned her back, and tried to calm her heartbeat. However, the more she tried, the faster her heart beat. Looking at the sleeping man, Cafe swallowed. Her body was getting hotter, as if a switch had been flipped. Her golden eyes began to change, and a red heart pulsed within them.

[Affection: 100]

The screen flashed in the man's mind.

"Trainer..."

We are each other's salvation, so it should be okay if we get even closer, right? With nothing else in her eyes, Cafe slowly climbed onto the bed and began to take off her own clothes.
