Anna didn't smile. She didn't even blink.
"Why would Mom even ask that?" she said slowly. "And Dad… does he know about this?"
The question wiped the humor from Daniel's face. He fell quiet, his jaw tightening almost imperceptibly.
Because that was the same thought that had stopped him from agreeing so easily.
