Once upon a time, when this world had only just come into being. When every creatures dwelled here in harmony, there existed but single vast land-Pangaea.
One quiet morning, the orphanage door creaked open to reveal two tiny twin girls, left behind by unseen hands. The caretaker, with a heavy yet gentle heart, carried them inside. Within those walls already lived countless children, each abandoned by fate, each carrying their own untold story.
Ten years passed in the blink of an eye, ten years had passed since that fateful day when the twin girls were first brought into the orphanage. And today marked their 10th birthday-a day that would carry more meaning than anyone at the orphanage could imagined.
"Maria....! Miata....!" came a voice-sister Mia.
"Over here!" Maria called, watching a butterfly behind the orphanage with Miata.
"Maria, Miata. You both know that today is your birthday and you have to go to the church for prayer today. Go to your rooms-sister Isabel is waiting of you two". Sister Mia reminded.
"Hey Nora! Are you coming with us?" Maria called.
"But it's you two whose birthday today". Nora whispered, flushed by Maria's approach.
"Nora". Miata talked who was silent for a long.
Nora was startled by hearing her name from Miata though she rarely talked.
"Please... come".
"Ahh you again! Nora just go. it's rare to go to the church before 10. It will be a blessing for you upcoming birthday" interrupt a voice_Elena. She looked directly into Nora's eyes making her step back.
"Ohh Elena don't scare her. And you could say it politely" Clara said putting a hand on Nora's shoulder.
Elena embarrassed by herself said "how many times i have to tell you it's my normal tone Clara. I am not shouting". Then she added lifting her hand to her forehead "you always find a way to tease me, don't you?"
Clara grinned.
Sister Mia watching their quite interaction, now interrupt "Ok. Finish your conversation. Ans Nora, you are going. Go to your rooms now. The ritual not wait for you two".
Then Maria and Miata went to their room where sister Isabel was already waiting when the doors opened. After half an hour the room again opened to reveal the two sisters into robes with a hairpin on their hair revealing the faint glow of Maria's eyes.
Everyone was on the lounge waiting for them and from the other side Nora appeared with her robe and sister Fiona beside her.
"Sister Mia!"Maria grinned. "We are ready"
Sister Mia who was watching her quietly, asked "You know how important this ritual is, don't you?"
"Yeah, i know" Maria exclaimed, though everyone knew how excited she is. But then, as if doubting herself, she whispered quietly, hesitating " But do you think Miata and I are truly worthy of it?"
For a long time Mia just watched her-the sheer truth and fear in her voice.
Then with a faint smile, Sister Isabel said "To tell you the truth, it was never about who is worthy and who is not. What truly matters is whether you see yourself as deserning of it" then just like remembering the past she added " what people think doesn't matter, because in the end, it's your life to live".
Miata, who was cluthing her sister's side murmured "Thank you... thank you so, so much. To you, to sister Mia, Fiona, Evelyn abd sister Matilda-thank you for taking care of us. Even kbowing that sister and i have powers, you all still excepted us as your own. For that... we are deeply grateful." she bowed in respect and love.
Evelyn coaxed, ruffling Miata's hair softly, steading her " You two sisters and every childin this orphanage, are as precious to us as our own. And remember this-if today the magical creatures do bot appears; do not let sorrow take hold of your hearts because in the end, no matter what happen, this family will always be here for you... your strength, your home and your forever bond."
"We are family... we all are" Leo said from behind and Nora was silent at the corner that's when Sophia embraced her amd whispered on her ear "and you are the precious one in our family because you are the younger one among all of us."
Nora hugged her back with relief.
Then suddenly, Maria shot up to her feet, her eyes sparkled with mischief and determination, and her hands curled into tiny fists at her sides. She lifted her chin proudly, her voice carrying louder then anyone expected.
"Alright then!" She declared, words tumbling out quickly, brimming with her usual chatter
"We are family, so i promise you this-from today, just like all of you have always protected us. I'll always protect this orphanage and everyone who lives here! Always-no matter what happens!"
Her little foot stomped against the wooden floor for emphasis, and she pointed at the others with all the drama of a seasoned storyteller. The children brust into laugher and applause, bot because they doubted her, but because her charm and confidence lit up the room.
Matilda amd other smiled softly, eyes moist, amd whispered under her breath "so much courage in such a small heart."
Then Mia, effected by Maria's courage thought, " Centuries ago... the demons and monsters appeared from nowhere. I've only heard the stories, but even in stories, their powers was enough to make the earth shiver. Not jsut humans- every creatures trembled at the mere thought of them. At that time, when the darkness threatened to swallow everything, two heroes stood against it-Martha and Muala. They were fearless, unstoppable... and yet, even they could not escape the prince of protecting us.
They sacrificed their lives so that the rest of the world could survive. They sealed the Demon king, trapping him with their last breath where he could do no more... yet the demons never truly vanished. They lurked, unseen, unheard, waiting. They never returned to attack us like they once did but they also didn't stopped attacking. And now the seal is about to break anytime amd one of us have to stand again for this world without thinking about it's consequences. I can feel it in my bones, in the way the air holds a strange tension and the nature is calling now for a mew saviour".
