Chapter 1 - 1

The biting cold wind howled, mingled with the roar of crashing waves, as Lin Wei's body plummeted through the air.

Before her eyes was that twisted, triumphant face. Lu Ze, her fiancé—no, her ex-boyfriend.

He and Su Xiaoxiao, the woman who claimed to be her best friend, stood at the cliff's edge, sneering coldly as she fell into the abyss.

"Weiwei, sorry about this, but you were just in our way," Su Xiaoxiao's voice dripped with sickly sweetness, laced with deadly poison.

There wasn't a trace of guilt in her eyes—only the gleam of a victor.

Lu Ze wrapped his arm around her waist, a satisfied smile on his face. "She's too stupid. Did she really think I loved her? I was just using her family's resources."

Flashes of nightmares from her previous life raced through Lin Wei's mind.

At 28, she should have been at the peak of her life, but instead, she tumbled into hell step by step.

After graduating from university, she entered the entertainment industry as a junior assistant, believing hard work would lead to success.

But Lu Ze, the man she loved deeply, exploited her trust, stole all her savings, and teamed up with Su Xiaoxiao to frame her for stealing company secrets.

The evidence was ironclad; she was fired, her reputation in ruins.

And that wasn't even the worst of it.

Su Xiaoxiao, that fragile-looking white lotus of a friend, secretly drugged her and ruined her appearance.

Her face was corroded by chemical fluids, turning grotesque and terrifying.

From then on, she became the "monster" everyone avoided.

Her parents exhausted themselves fighting for her, draining the family fortune, until they both fell ill and passed away.

She went bankrupt, ended up on the streets, like a stray dog.

"Why... why me?" Lin Wei murmured as she fell.

A car accident? No, this wasn't an accident! Lu Ze and Su Xiaoxiao had chased her in their car, deliberately forcing her to the cliff's edge.

Her car flipped, and they pushed her off with their own hands.

Blood streamed from her forehead, blurring her vision.

Pain surged like a tidal wave, and endless hatred welled up in her heart.

"If there's a next life, I'll make you pay! I'll make you wish you were dead!"

Darkness swallowed her.

The icy grip of death enveloped her soul. Everything ended.

...

"Ah!" Lin Wei bolted upright in bed, gasping for air.

Sweat soaked her nightclothes, her chest heaving violently.

Her eyes wide, she scanned the room. This wasn't the cliff, or a hospital, or that freezing abyss.

This was... her university dorm?

Sunlight streamed through the window, casting light on the familiar bed.

Photos of her and her roommates were plastered on the wall, and her graduation certificate sat on the desk.

The air carried the fresh scent of laundry detergent—everything felt so real, yet so distant.

"I... I've been reborn?" Lin Wei whispered, touching her face.

Her skin was smooth and flawless, without a single scar.

She leaped out of bed and rushed to the mirror.

The girl staring back was 22, brimming with youth, her pure beauty laced with a hint of defiance.

Long hair cascaded to her waist, her figure toned and curvaceous—this was exactly how she looked on her university graduation day.

Memories from her previous life flooded back like a tide.

She remembered clearly: today was her graduation day.

In her past life, she'd eagerly gone to meet Lu Ze, who promised her a surprise job opportunity.

But it was just the start of the trap.

Lu Ze would sweet-talk her into joining his company, then exploit her step by step, only to abandon her in the end.

"No, not this time."

Lin Wei's eyes narrowed, her once innocent gaze now sharpened with a cold edge.

In her previous life, she'd been too naive, too trusting.

She'd believed in Lu Ze's love and Su Xiaoxiao's friendship, only to be betrayed, disfigured, and pushed off a cliff.

She clenched her fists, revenge burning in her chest.

In that moment, her personality shifted quietly—from weak and kind to decisive and clever, with a touch of cunning.

She wouldn't be that gullible girl anymore, ripe for the slaughter.

She would turn the tables, make those scum pay!

Just then, a strange dizziness hit her.

A vivid scene flashed in Lin Wei's mind, like a movie clip: She stood in a café, Lu Ze kneeling on the ground, tears streaming as he begged, "Weiwei, I was wrong. Let's get back together. I can't live without you."

Calculation lurked in his eyes, and Su Xiaoxiao's shadow loomed behind him.

The vision faded, leaving Lin Wei stunned.

What was that? A premonition? She focused her mind, and another flashed: Lu Ze picking up his phone, dialing her number, his voice tenderly fake. "Weiwei, happy graduation. Let's meet up."

A golden finger! Lin Wei's heart raced.

She'd been reborn and gained this ability—to glimpse fragments of the future occasionally.

This would be her weapon for revenge! In her past life, she had nothing; now, she had the advantage.

She could dodge traps and strike back at those who harmed her.

"Lu Ze, Su Xiaoxiao, just you wait."

A cold smile tugged at Lin Wei's lips.

The intense hatred made her body tremble slightly.

This was the start of her vengeance, and she swore she wouldn't show mercy.

That scheming bitch Su Xiaoxiao, who played the pitiful innocent while plotting deeply—she'd make her cry and expose her true colors.

That scumbag Lu Ze, selfish and promiscuous—she'd bankrupt him, make him beg for reconciliation on his knees, only to crush him underfoot.

And any other hidden enemies—she'd settle scores one by one.

Lin Wei took a deep breath, steadying herself.

She opened her wardrobe and picked a simple white dress to wear.

In the mirror, she looked stunning, her figure alluring. In her past life, she'd never realized her own appeal.

Now, she'd use everything, including this beautiful exterior.

The dorm door swung open, and her roommate Jiang Nan poked her head in. "Weiwei, the graduation ceremony's over! Why are you still sleeping? Get up—Lu Ze called looking for you!"

Jiang Nan, 23, bubbly and cheerful—one of the few true friends from her previous life.

Lin Wei smiled. "Yeah, I'm up. Jiang Nan, thanks."

Jiang Nan blinked. "Thanks for what? Wow, you look great today... different. More confident!"

Lin Wei nodded, saying nothing more.

Her phone rang suddenly. Caller ID: Lu Ze.

Lin Wei stared at the screen, the premonition replaying in her mind.

She pressed answer, her voice calm. "Hello?"

"Weiwei, happy graduation! I'm waiting at the school gate. Let's meet up. I have a surprise for you."

Lu Ze's voice was as gentle as ever, but it made Lin Wei nauseous.

She let out a cold laugh. "Sure, let's meet."

After hanging up, Lin Wei stared at her phone screen for a moment, a mocking curve forming on her lips.

Lu Ze's voice sounded so familiar, so phony.

In her previous life, she'd been fooled by this gentle facade for a full six years.

From their college romance onward, he'd been attentive on the surface while secretly using her family's connections to land a job in her father's small entertainment company.

After graduation, he eroded her trust bit by bit, eventually teaming up with Su Xiaoxiao to shove her into the abyss.
