Chapter 5 - Three and a Half Years, Qian Renjue is the Real Angel!

Time flew by.

Qian Renjue was already three and a half years old.

In the early morning, sunlight streamed through the windows of the luxurious bedroom, falling on the small bed where the siblings slept.

The sound of washing up came from the bathroom.

Qian Renjue was still curled up in the covers, enjoying a lazy sleep.

The appearance he had at birth, which wasn't the best, was long gone.

With his golden hair and delicate features, the young boy looked to have smooth, fair skin.

Not long after.

Qian Renxue, who also had golden hair but was more delicate than Qian Renjue, came to the bedside.

Her purple eyes were round, and she wore a creamy white dress with gold trim, looking incredibly cute. Yet, her face already held a hint of maturity beyond her years.

She was a little ball of fury.

With a small hand, Qian Renxue knelt on the bed.

She nudged Qian Renjue, who was still asleep.

"Jue, little brother, wake up quickly. It's time to get up and practice swords with your sister."

"Sister, I'm so sleepy. Can I sleep a little longer?"

Qian Renjue's eyes were blurry, and he couldn't open them properly. As he spoke, he tried to bury his head back in the covers.

"No, the sun is already shining in."

Qian Renxue shook her head and pulled the covers away, pinching Qian Renjue's chubby cheeks.

She spoke softly, "If Jue doesn't practice swords with Sister, then Sister won't play with you."

"Ah? No… It's boring alone."

Hearing this.

Qian Renjue immediately opened his sleepy purple eyes.

He quickly flipped over.

He hugged Qian Renxue's soft body, gently nuzzling against her belly.

"Sister, you must get tired from practicing your sword. Just play with me when you're resting or have free time."

"Mm, I'll always be with you."

Qian Renxue doted on Qian Renjue, holding him close.

Her small hand gently stroked the inch-long scar on the corner of Qian Renjue's left eyebrow.

Her eyes held tenderness, and a touch of sorrowful resentment.

"Sister, Jue doesn't hurt."

Qian Renjue held her, tilting his tender face and giving a hearty smile.

"Mm, get up quickly and eat breakfast. We'll rest for a bit afterwards."

Qian Renxue smiled gently, ruffling her silly little brother's hair.

"Okay."

Qian Renjue yawned.

With Qian Renxue's help, he got dressed.

He swayed as he walked towards the bathroom, and the cool water splashed onto his face.

The icy stimulation woke him up completely.

Looking at himself in the mirror, he gave a somewhat narcissistic smile.

Another day of freedom and ease.

"Sister, let's go."

Emerging from the bath.

Qian Renjue, who had been drowsy just moments before, was now brimming with energy.

He happily bounced over, wanting to cling to Qian Renxue's arm.

They headed out, walking towards the Worship Hall.

"Jue, don't forget to take your sword."

Qian Renxue, holding the light wooden sword in her hand, gently patted his head.

"Awoo!"

Qian Renjue whimpered, covering his head and rubbing it haphazardly.

He giggled and said, "Sister, Jue will help you carry them."

Before the words had even left his mouth, Qian Renjue was already happily taking the two wooden swords from Qian Renxue's hands.

"Let's go."

Qian Renxue gently held his small hand and walked towards the Worship Hall.

"Sister, what kind of flowers do you like?"

"..."

"Sister, why is your wooden sword so much heavier than mine?"

"Shouldn't boys be stronger?"

All along the way,

Qian Renjue's chattering little mouth never stopped.

Qian Renxue didn't find it annoying at all.

She was already used to her younger brother's optimism, enthusiasm, and liveliness.

Even without responding,

she felt that this moment was so beautiful.

Golden sunlight spilled over the siblings.

Qian Renjue's voice trailed off.

Qian Renxue couldn't help but curiously turn her gaze.

She saw Qian Renjue tilting his small face, looking towards the rising sun.

He squinted, smiling.

"Sister, the weather is really nice today."

"Yes, it is."

Qian Renxue couldn't help but slow her pace. Qian Renjue held Qian Renxue's hand tightly, following closely beside her.

Lifting her head, she breathed in the warmth of the sunlight.

Golden light swirled within Qian Renxue's purple eyes.

She knew... That was her younger brother, shining.

A radiant, golden smile lit up Qian Renjue's face, making him exceptionally dazzling.

Qian Renxue had thought it many times before.

Her younger brother, Qian Renjue, was the true angel!

From the moment he was born.

The smile never left his face.

He usually smiled, smiled when he fell, and still smiled when he was hurt.

Even when that woman spoke harshly to him.

He was pushed away repeatedly, fell to the ground, and was heartbroken.

Yet, he continued to smile.

The smile on his face was always so warm.

Although Qian Renxue didn't understand why, she had come to like that smiling face.

The ever-smiling Qian Renjue filled her life with light at every moment.

[Congratulations to the host, successfully conveyed great love! (Target: Qian Renxue)] [Reward: 300 points!]

Ignoring the system's voice.

Qian Renjue held his sword in one hand and Qian Renxue in the other, taking small steps.

A happy smile was plastered on his face.

Being able to move freely, to breathe on his own, to talk to his family.

How wonderful and happy this was!

Over these past three years or so.

Qian Renjue had been very fulfilled and happy.

Compared to other children, his performance was undoubtedly precocious.

But what Qian Renjue didn't understand was...

Compared to his older sister, Qian Renxue, his own precociousness seemed insignificant.

In these past few years,

Qian Renxue's performance was absolutely that of a true genius!

Before she could walk, she learned swordsmanship.

This wasn't an exaggeration when applied to her.

Not only did Qian Renxue learn to walk much earlier than him.

Even during literacy classes,

she could remember everything after just one lesson.

And he had the experience of studying abroad in the second grade of the modern world for two years.

However, studying wasn't that smooth.

While he was still learning to read and write.

Qian Renxue had already started pestering Qian Daoliu, asking him to teach her how to practice swordsmanship.

Her talent in swordsmanship.

Astonished the entire Worship Hall.

Even if Qian Daoliu only taught her once, she could emulate it with eight or nine parts accuracy.

Which made Qian Daoliu exclaim that it was the ancestor's spirit showing its power.

That old man, Qian Xunji, was so happy he couldn't sleep.

He'd finally felt like he could hold his head high in front of his own father.

"See that?" he'd probably beamed. "Even though I'm not much, my daughter is incredible!"

Regarding his older sister, Qian Renxue's, inhuman talent, Qian Renjue could only attribute it to the fact that she was truly the reincarnation of the Angel God.

Also, over the past few years,

Qian Renjue had wanted to tell Qian Daoliu and the others about what was going to happen in the future more than once.

He didn't want his happy life to end.

Although Qian Renjue loved to smile.

That was only relative to his own people.

Between family, his own people, and outsiders/enemies.

He always held multiple standards!

For those who threatened himself and his family, he wouldn't even say "better to kill by mistake".

At least, given what he could already ascertain.

It was definitely better to eliminate them as soon as possible.

Qian Renjue couldn't afford the risk of family destruction!

But the strange thing was, whenever Qian Renjue wanted to reveal spoilers, to inform Qian Daoliu and the others about the future.

The system would trigger a protection program.

Prohibiting Qian Renjue from divulging.

The moment he had a thought, alarms would blare incessantly in his mind.

[Detecting potential threat to host's life. Detecting potential threat to host's life.]

[Self-protection program initiated. Self-protection program initiated!]

Whenever the alarm sounded, Qian Renjue couldn't speak, couldn't even open his mouth.

Occasionally, there were exceptions.

Sometimes, even when Qian Renjue hadn't thought about something, the system would still broadcast the alerts.

And then he could still speak normally.

Qian Renjue even suspected that this system had some kind of malfunction.

Or perhaps some evil person was secretly trying to harm him.
